This is a cute little place in downtown Tecumseh. I have been to Salsaria's across the street many times... and on one of these occasions I noticed some ladies walking into Pentamere and figured I'd check it out. So after a delicious meal, went over for some tasting. I tried both of the dry reds - the Merlot was the tastier of the two IMO. The dry white had a strange aftertaste that wasn't really my thing. They have a few little sauces and such in there as well, which they also use for food pairing with the wine. The wine, to me, was just okay... but worth the experience of the cute place. read more

Excellent winery in the heart of downtown Tecumseh. This place is so cute and charming and the staff here are wonderful. The gentleman working here was very thorough in explaining the different wines, what foods they pair with (with taste samplings!), and the regions the different grapes come from (all Great Lakes varietals). My mom and I were just going to buy a bottle each but ended up getting a whole case to split. Being we usually drink dry wines we were shocked at how much we enjoyed the sweeter wines here. The May Wine (semi sweet white) was my favorite and my mom loved the Mariner's Red (semi sweet red). They offer 10% off if you buy a case. There isn't a bad wine here and depending on your preference they have it covered from sweet to dry in both red and white. read more

Back in Michigan again this year and had to swing by Tecumseh to visit Pentamere Winery and then Evans Station for dinner. Cheryl was our wine educator this trip and we enjoyed another taste of what Pentamere offers. She was delightful and like Ed last year offered various dips, cheeses and spicy jellies to pair with the different wines. Another delightful experience. Prices have risen to $1 for each wine tasted...but still a good deal. Especially with the pairings. Walked away with a Wings of the Wind, a Merlot and sweet Channel Marker 2 for a friend who enjoys those sweeter wines. Will hopefully see you again next trip to MI. read more

I'm a huge fan of Pentamere. It's too bad I only get to go there once a year with the Pioneer Wine Trail Big Grape Tour because it's about an hour away from where I live, not to mention wine tasting with a group of friends is a lot more fun. Although the tasting area isn't all that big, the staff is always very friendly and very willing to let you taste pretty much everything on the menu. I like that Pentamere offers a good variety of wines that can satisfy all different types of palates. Prices for the wine are very reasonable. There are certainly a few wines that are slightly more expensive than others, but they're more expensive for a reason. It's not a big operation, but it's not easy to tell if you consider the quality of wines that are available. It's located in the quaint section of town, so it's definitely worth checking out Pentamere along with the rest of the little town. read more

Ed at the winery was amazing! His pairing knowledge was fantastic...He made the experience one I will always remember.My boyfriend was not a fan of wine and Ed changed his out look! Nice winery about an hour from Ann Arbor. The owner is a great guy, and kindly took our small group on a tour. I enjoyed the cherry wine and the Mariner's red. Their jams are outstanding as well. read more

Personally wasn't a fan of many of the wines but that's not their fault they can't grow zin in MI. They do have a really refreshing apple wine made from locally grown cider apples. Tastings are 50 cents or 7 for $3 which is way cheaper than the $20 for 4 tasting norm in Cali. Lady at the counter was nice and answered our questions. We enjoyed our tasting there. read more

I went on a mystery trip with my travel club and this was the first stop. The store was small but well stocked with various wine and other treats. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I ended up buying a bottle of wine and chocolate dessert topping. It's worth a stop if in the area. read more

Hidden Gem in downtown Tecumseh. The staff is incredibly friendly and super passionate about their wine. They suggest pairings and let you sample both wine and accompaniments. The Cherry wine and Plum wine are two of my favorites. I make a point to stop here every time I can! read more

Great place to have a friendly conversation and taste a variety of wines. A walkway overlooking the wine cellar gives you a view of the winemaking process, and the tasting room features local artists' work. They sponsor local culinary school students that have won state and national honors in competitions. These students serve very tasty food & wine pairing dinners at the winery several times a year. Great place and not at all snobby -- one of the first things they'll say about good wine is that you should drink what tastes good to you. Chances are you'll end up being helped by one of the owners, which is great because they know the product best. The inside is beautiful. Once you pick out your wine, go across the street to Boulevard Market -- tell them what you bought and they'll find the perfect bread and cheese to go with it. read more

Stopped by the booth at the renaissance festival. The bottles were covered up by paper describing the wine, I thought this technique didn't work well since I couldn't recognize the brand or read about the brand or alcohol content. I asked the men working the booth some questions and one of them in particular gave me very pompous remarks. With that being said, I spent my money elsewhere. Because of this experience I will not be buying this brand or traveling to this winery. My experience was very pleasant with all of the other vendors at the festival. read more

Nice place to go that isn't snobby with wine! Drink what you like, they say! Dan, the owner, was in when I was tasting and he was very helpful.
