My first decision involved which table did I want to eat at - one in the Schanigarten or one inside. I chose a window table inside just because I like looking at all the Tunisian artwork. To start with, I ordered the excellent Tunisian soup with Linsen. It was a hearty bowl and got my taste buds all excited. The national Tunisian dish of lamb couscous which followed was also delicious. I love the texture of Tunisian couscous and adding in the fresh veggies and generous lamb portion, it was a dish I could not finish. Half of it went home for another delicious meal. And you know what? I def ordered (and indeed paid for) the small portion ... very ample serving!!! The older couple working here are the owners. They both take your order and cook as well as greet you. When you want to eat good Tunisian cuisine in Vienna, look no further then Le Couscous Chez Rachid. We then sat unattended for a bit too long in the back of the restaurant. Things picked up with our food order. Tasty pizza with olives and artichokes - I wish it was cooked more thoroughly so that it wasn't wet in the middle. Prosciutto and olives was tasty as was the burrata salad. Osso buco was not as tender as it should have been. A bit uneven with the food, but it was late and it hit the spot.

This is a wonderful Arabian restaurant located only a couple of minutes from St. Stephen's Cathedral. The staff are so welcoming which is not always the case in this part of town and the atmosphere and music transport you to a different world. I love the wall murals especially. For food I can recommend the classic Arab dish Kabsse. It is served with meat or chicken and a tasty Tzatziki sauce. An accompanying harissa hot sauce also blends in perfectly although (a Tip:) save some of your salad to balance the heat if you use a lot as I do. And Hamama is open from lunch through to near midnight!

So I was with a white tall person and we got seated right away with our kids. I asked for - wait for it, yes, Gluehwein, oh how I loved their Gluehwein here! it has a white and red version. I tried both and they were both delicious. The Wienerschitizel here is solid. and Kaiserscheman pancakes were perfect. We also had boiled beef and beef goulash. For dessert of course strudel. The service was excellent. The white table linen was lovely. You definitely get the Eastern European food mixed in with German and Austrian. For this untrained eye, I couldn't tell it apart from southern German food or Hungarian food. It is just basically Eastern European and German to me. But for an American, this is a good thing. We are hitting the familiar territories here. Unlike some American restaurants, they don't rush you here. You can eat as little as possible and you get served just as much. I would definitely come back here. A very lovely joint by the Palace.
