Six stars out of five. An absolutely unique jewel. We were in Mariposa on a Sunday drive, and two of my kids had fallen into a creek. I thought there was no way I'd be able to find them dry clothes after 5:00 on a Sunday, but The Marketplace came in clutch. We also ended up buying some vintage books, toys, and candy. S.O. and I walked inside here (trying to cool off) and also killing time before dinner. The cashier/staff told us that they have 33 artist's crafts that's available downstairs and upstairs. Wow. First floor: anything cowboy related as well as old antique posters/cards. They have some candy/sweet sections by the cashier so that's where I was most of the day. They had really interesting taffys and caramels. Second floor: this creeped me out. Imagine going through this section by yourself and its at night... yah. You can find dolls... old uniforms ... it just gave me weird vibes. It was interesting... just creepy. Overall... check it out if you're interested in killing time... this is definitely one of those place that will capture your attention due to its unlimited antique stuff! read more

Items are very well kept, unique, and prices are reasonable. There's two floors of a vast variety of beautiful items of all kinds. Located on the main drag it's a not so small store made up of different vendors selling old and new arts and crafts and everything else. From Christmas items to old vinyl records from Black Sabbath to Elton John. The owners are very nice and helpful. Great little building to kill some time and look at some cool things. They have two stories worth of crafts to look at. I recommend hitting them up if your visiting Mariposa. read more

Cute shop! The owner is super sweet! This is a 2 story vintage shop. They have little cubicles of different peoples items to sell. All different prices. I have been here about 4 times and always found some goodies. One time was a bunch of old records, another was tin signs, another just a bunch of random stuff. read more

Very nice and friendly shopping area featuring several different venders and lots of options for gift or personal shopping. The owners are very nice and you get the small town feel here. I came in just wanting to kill a little time and was surprised there was 2 full floors of things to browse. Willing to help you in any way the woman asked if I was looking for anything particular, which I wasn't so she just filled me in on the fact that there was an upstairs too. Oh boy I decided to start at the top and work down. The beautiful staircase caught my attention it is such a grand scene. She was so gracious to tell me the story of the building and the magnificent staircase which I found amazing. I "browsed" quite a bit and did find several items from various venders and was surprised to find I killed just the right amount of time and in such an enjoyable way. I wasn't planning on buying anything or looking for anything but they have such good variety of venders and products and local made gifts etc that you are bound to find something for yourself or a gift for a loved one. Mariposa Marketplace was highly recommended by online search and the host of AirBnB I stayed at. I thoroughly enjoyed browsing through the stalls in this two storied building. Lots of fun things to look at. . .an eclectic mixture of antiques, junk, homemade/handmade, candy, etc. I picked up three different things and went to pay. This is why I rated two stars. . .the two individuals who 'rang' up my purchases were completely CLUELESS about what they were doing. Instead of charging me $25 they charged me $255. Needless to say this charge totally screwed up my account and sent me in overdrawn status. It took those two people about 45 minutes to figure out how to refund/reverse the charge and additional 10 minutes to figure out how to print a friggin' receipt. I insisted on a receipt for documentation purposes and they wanted me to simply take a photo of their transactions. Screw that! Give me a receipt because I am going to have to deal with my bank! After all that shit I refused to give them any money. I was told later by my partner (who either overheard this or was told this by someone) that this is a chronic issue. Whether it is a human error or technological error, if this is not the first time and is now clearly a recurring issue FIX IT! read more

Mariposa Marketplace is essentially like a co-op where various vendors of collectibles, vintage and antiques display and sell their merchandise. This is located in a two-story John Trabucco Building, with great staircase leading upstairs. If you like browsing through old stuff, if you like thrift stores, you might find it interesting. If these things bother you, better skip it. There's great variety of things to examine though, especially if you have time. Not sure why this is listed under interior design or jewelry exactly, which gives you a wrong impression of the place. The word 'antiques' means old treasures to me, something that's hundred years old or more. I would say it's mostly vintage and collectibles. read more

don't come here unless you want to get ripped off in clothing. I came in and purchased a dress and top labeled as "Vintage one of a kind 70s Dress" and "vintage Disco top" the store was about to close and I purchased them without looking at the tag which on my end is my fault but mostly on their end for mislabeling and misleading. Came to find out at that these items had the tag SHEIN on it which if you didn't know is super cheap clothing brand with both of them very overpriced. Was disappointed so I called to make the return and the lady said yes, when I get in their the original lady who sold me the dress was very disappointed that I was return the items and took it VERY personal. She started questioning me and didn't believe me that the items said "vintage one of a kind" (I tried them on at home and tags fell off.) She decided to step a guy aside and made it clear she was gossiping about me to him and pointing and looking over. Don't know why she took it so personal when it's her fault I'm pretty sure it's her section of selling clothes. I'm only giving an extra star because the owner made it right and got a full refund otherwise beware of "vintage" items and being scammed. Xo read more

This store was interesting to walk through and browse. It was so old-fashioned. It brought me back to post-WWII America like the 1950s. There's two floors. Upstairs they had some Elvis Presley stuff and Elvis music was playing. It was haunting..."wise men say...only fooools rush innn...but I can't help falling in love with you.." I didn't fall in love with this place. I bought some appleheads for 25 cents. They had some candy on sale that was supposed to be old-fashioned. My friend bought three used kitchen items like prongs and a potato peeler. Then he bargained for this heavy cooking kettle pot. The owner told us we could check out the hardware store down the street for these cooking pots. He sold it to us for $35 instead of $39. One of the two people who work there was friendly to me. There was a lot of stuff for sale. It was a unique store..but the quality and selection could be better. I would check it out for fun..you don't know what you might want. read more

This place seemed to be a collection of several different thrift store vendors. I liked the Man Cave the best. The gentleman working there fit my image of someone who would run a man cave! Flannel shirt, scruffy beard, the works! They had fishing poles, a basketball phone, model boats, etc. The other shops were more generic thrift. Interesting crafts and gifts. Prices are okay. Counter service is abysmal. 3 counter ladies chatted with each other rather than work. So slow. Two people in front of me. Waited and waited. Finally gave up. My 11 yr old daughter commented: "those women are just chatting mommy they aren't working at all". This coming from a girl who was getting a video. I really like this store. It is full of small antiques so if that's was your interested in, check it out. I have found several old blue mason jars, one was a fake but it was only three bucks AND the cashier showed me how to tell if it was real or not. They have a lot of neat old kitchen stuff. The way these stores work is they are separated by vendor. Each person who is selling stuff has a separate little nook. My wife and I stopped in and I figured I would sit while she shopped. Turned out, we both found lots to look at and enjoy. We were immediately greeted by very nice employees. The first thing you see as you walk in, is an old fashioned-type candy booth and cowboy related items. But as we delved further in, I found an interesting array of items, from really unique antiques to local crafts, jewelry, alpaca items and so much more. There were two floors and tons of unique booths. The building was historic and I personally enjoyed looking around at all the great architecture The employees were friendly, as they rang up our order, and made us feel welcome. I am not sure who had more fun browsing, my wife or me! We found a great selection and decent to great prices on most items. We ended up buying some "goodies". We will definitely be back. read more

I've been a customer at the MarketPlace many many times. It is an upscale flea market located in a local 'historic' building consisting of 2 floors of a lot of knick-knacks.. My favorite feature of the Marketplace is the local artisan's products: home made soaps, lotions, candles, cooking sauces, snacker items, wind chimes, clothing articles. It is a great place for gifts. I don't want, or need, knick knacks, but I"m always interested in local arts and crafts and to share with others. My reason for 2 stars is more of a customer service annoyance. First it is very very cluttered! Leave your purse, jacket and kids outside. Everything is crammed together; very little room to move around comfortably. The edible gourmet corner is when you first walk in and there must be 100 items crammed in a 2x2 area and that includes a rotunda in the middle! Very shopper-unfriendly. Second comment: too much hovering by employees as soon as you walk in. I like to shop in peace read more

Oh My! What a fabulous experience this store is! Clearly a well-thought out design for an antique and vintage experience, set in a beautiful historic building. I love the vibrant vibe that this place gives off. Friendly folks with heartfelt greetings when I arrived made it nice to walk in. If you like leisurly treasure hunting, this is the place to head for while wandering around Mariposa. The entire store is made up of lots of little shops that have vintage or hand-crafted items. Each "shop" decorated in its own way, to really make poking around fun. I really liked the old staircase to the upstairs, and it made me wonder what the building was used for in the past--a real architectual gem of California gold rush times. I was actually surprised at how the prices were so low, which is always nice (since most antique stores are so expensive these days!) I really felt like I was treasure hunting!!! read more
