I planned our entire wedding and hired all vendors from Las Vegas, where we live. Marissa was super accommodating with a Skype meeting so we could get to know each other. This really helped me with finalizing our photography vendor decision. The package we chose included an ice breaker shoot which ended up being like an engagement shoot. This was super helpful in getting to know her shooting style and temperament. Marissa is very outgoing and fun to be around. She made my husband feel super comfortable, which he was worried about, not having spent a lot of time in front of the camera and of course she made me feel comfortable too. The images she took in the ice breaker shoot really captured the essence of our relationship. We get scores of compliments on them. As for the wedding day Marissa was a gem. We traveled around Seattle doing photos with the wedding party in several locations and Marissa had great suggestions for every shot. I literally just had to be there and look pretty. At the wedding, I know she was constantly there taking pics but I never noticed her taking the pics, which I thinks is good. We heard about Marissa through a friend, and hired her to take photos of our newborn. She showed up on time, and when the natural lighting in the house wasn't just right, went back out to her car and brought in a full lighting set - our living room looked like a professional studio! Once we got a first look at the pictures, we immediately purchased a package for 3 more additional sessions. The photos are fun, creative, and high quality. Marissa is a pleasure to work with. We recently hired Marissa Rick to take family pictures of us before the arrival of our second son. I have to say that I was nervous going in to the shoot, because you never know what's going to happen when you try to get an almost four-year old boy to cooperate for pictures. Marissa was phenomenal! Despite our son skinning both knees and elbows while running full speed on pavement right at the beginning of our time, which lead to meltdown city, and, not to mention him later deciding that it was time to take his clothes off for fun, Marissa miraculously managed to capture so many beautiful moments. I would just go on for hours here but I will keep it short! I had Marissa do our wedding photos! She was a phenomenal! She has an artistic touch about her photos that is amazing! Very pleasant and was nice to work with! Her Husband was there to help our and he was very easy going also (as we were not :) The photos took a while to get back but I guess that is cause she was busy and we were anxious to get them (even though we really have not been looking at them :). Marissa is an amazing photographer! Here are a couple of things that made me so happy that we went with MariRick for our newborn photography: 1) Marissa was SO patient. Our baby was being a bit of a stinkerbug and needed to take three nursing breaks during our session. Marissa waited patiently through each one - and the patience paid off because at the very end of the session we got the sleepy newborn pics we had been trying to get the entire time. All in all she was there for over four hours (yikes) but we got the shots we wanted. 2) No extra fee for a Saturday session. Although we ended up going with a weekday, Marissa was one of the few photographers I spoke to who didn't charge more to take pictures on a Saturday. She also traveled to our house and turned our living room into a studio - nice when you don't want to travel around with a newborn. 3) She has a great eye for editing - I was so pleased with how our final portraits turned out. 4) She's quick - she had our photos up for preview that night, and our final edited pics to us within a week. 5) Her prices include a CD that you can use to make as many copies for the grandparents as you would like. Again, a rarity for most photographers around here. In addition Marissa was just a lot of fun to work with. I would highly recommend getting a package deal - she offers some great ones.
