We chose El Meson after reading so many great reviews, but unfortunately our experience was very…read moredisappointing.
We were 2 adults and 1 child. The restaurant had no AC, and it was extremely hot and humid inside. The fans didn't help, and we were all sweating the entire time.
The homemade chips were greasy, very hard, and they only brought a tiny bowl of it.
We ordered a meat platter, but the steak was overcooked.
No one came to check on our table during the meal. In the end, we paid $157 for one meat platter for 2, french fries for the child, with no drinks since they don't serve alcohol.
They don't accept credit cards and when paying cash they exchange rate 15 pesos for 1 US dollar which is lower than everywhere else.
I am recommending you exchange the money before you go.
Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere did not match the excellent reviews we had read. We left disappointed and couldn't wait to leave because we were so uncomfortable.
