I believe this is my favorite place in Puerto Penasco. It may sound minuscule, but the mushroom appetizer is PHENOMENAL! My partner is pescatarian and he loves the Caldo de queso. Tonight he had the San Rafael shrimp and it was AMAZING! I also LOVE the Shrimp stuffed avocado, the fried Panela. Oh and then the drinks! Wonderful food and drinks - a real gem in this busy and overcrowded neighborhood of Malecón. CASH only!!! (I didn't know until the end, and I had to go get cash from an ATM - and note that they only accept USD). It is always great to find an authentic Mexican restaurant in the middle of all of the tourist chaos. All of the ingredients were fresh and the flavors were popping. Enchiladas were great, and anything with shrimp was delicious. The fajitas were prepared with a natural flavor, not with any of the fajita seasoning that you might be used to outside Mexico. Drinks were excellent, obviously each one freshly prepared with squeezed fruit. The ambiance and feel of this place is really bright and fun. The only issue was that at the end, I was told it was cash only (usually I would like to know that at the beginning!), and their conversion rate to USD was quite a bit off the actual rate. The waiter said that they set their own conversion rates at the restaurant, the problem is that it was higher than the previous restaurants - I would prefer to pay in the currency of the bill or pay the correct rate, which is not an option. I had to go to a local ATM that charges an $8 usage fee. I was happy with the whole food experience, so paying a bit more wasn't a big deal on this occasion. Just make sure you have enough cash, relax and enjoy this amazing restaurant!! read more

Wow!! We stumbled upon here this Wednesday morning. My wife and I love the interior decor of this place it is very eclectic. But you probably want to know about the food.... I had a breakfast burrito and wife got the pancakes. Pancakes came out with a beautiful assortment of fruit with it. My breakfast burrito had eggs, ham, avocado and cheese inside. The beans on the side were to die for, as was the burrito! Their salsa is perfect on the burrito. My wife loved her pancakes! We'll definitely come back here for lunch or dinner at some point. Family owned and operated, charming decorative decor, incredible service, and amazing food. This place is fantastic! We had the grilled cheese (not what you are thinking) appetizer served with nopales. Yummy. My wife had a shrimp cocktail which she said was delicious. I had the camarones a la diabla.
