I just left this location and I wish I could give them 10 stars . This was by far the best dental…read moreexperience I have ever had! I live out of state and was having a dental emergency. I called multiple locations and no one would accept my insurance , but more importantly no one could get me in for an appointment today. As soon as Emily answered the phone at Asheville dental , I knew my luck was changing . She was so sweet and sympathetic. She made sure to explain everything to me including costs, since my insurance is no good in North Carolina and she got me in for an appointment in the afternoon. They sent me a text with all the information and a link to my paperwork so I could fill everything out before I arrived. I made sure to get there early and the offices are warm and welcoming. I gave my name in the front and they checked me in. I was called back right at my appointment time. I explained my situation and Makayla was patient and understanding. She checked my teeth and took an x-ray and made sure to verify the cost with me. Dr. Powell came in to examine me and he was absolutely wonderful. He explained the issue and provided me with lots of options . He answered all of my questions and I left feeling super hopeful and incredibly relieved. Thank you to Emily and Makayla and Dr. Powell! I hope you know what a difference you made in my life today.

There are several issues with this place. I'll elaborate. This place talked with my mom for a while…read moreon the phone, and my mom repeatedly said I have no dental insurance in their talk of several minutes. I shortly after get a text message to bring in my insurance card. That's quite unprofessional to not make notes of someone, and just giving them a generic response, which wouldn't be the first time they are inattentive either. I addressed to the nurse and Dasher that I'm vegan, which is blatantly disregarded later on, as I'll get to that soon. Also, my mom thought the plants in there were real, but I knew they were fake, and even the nurse said they're fake. Real plants help with oxygen, creativity, and other benefits. Their plants are as fake as their care. Dasher doesn't know too much flouride harms the teeth, known as fluorosis, as there's even a word for it, and thinks just spitting out fluoride means it's safe, even though it does absorb into the mouth and skin, like plenty of other things. I'm not totally against flouride either. 98% of West Europe doesn't use fluoride, and they generally have far better teeth than here in infamous bad teeth, and generally awful health America. Denmark officially has the best teeth in the world, according to reports. Japan has far better teeth, especially with NASA giving them nano-hydroxyapatite, which Dasher says is inferior to flouride, even though peer-reviewed studies say it's the same strength or better for teeth. So, the education there is pretty bad. At least Japan, among other advances in health and intelligence over America, is very close to regrowing teeth with stem cells, probably by 2025, several reports say. It's blatantly better to have brand-new teeth than none or fillings. Even after those two issues, I still was willing to go back there. However, the issue with veganism occurs, and this is problematic for anyone with allergies, or any religion, which a dentist place could be used for. I'm prescribed antibiotics, which I really didn't want since loads of peer-reviewed studies of my Russian roots, American studies, and so forth point to garlic being a far better antibiotic than synthetic antibiotics, since it doesn't kill good bacteria, and doesn't build tolerance, unlike synthetic ones (which about 80% of synthetic ones go towards animal agriculture). My mom had her first son pick it up. We trusted this office to handle the appropriate antibiotics, which turned out to be in poor outcome of a half-ass dentist office. The pharmacy won't take back an unopened bag and unopened bottle of pills. I addressed my concerns to the office in two emails. One email was on July 28th, addressing fluorosis, and the other info of Denmark, and so forth. I provided loads of screenshots to validate my claims. It was actually a favor to them so they're aware. No thank you. No reply. No call. No text. August 1st, I email them about the prescription, and the severity of how it can impact people of allergies, religions, and vegans. No reply. I texted them, too. September 11th (wow, a day I witnessed the news of in Florida in my middle school days, and I was in a plane to NJ and back to Florida, seeing the towers only from above) they sent a letter without any reimbursement, without any apology, and says we cannot see you unless an emergency, along with other nonsense. I don't want them to harass me with letters. $6+ to send me a letter. They won't even send emails. Ironically, again, their email at the bottom of the silly letter. It takes them over a month to get back to me. You want to talk about incompetent, and narcissistic of an office. I will be leaving reviews with evidence on various parts of online. I let the oral surgeon he recommended know again like last time. Incompetent and uncaring office. It's good that this place isn't the only place around for dental in Arden/Asheville.

Today's surgery was a huge accomplishment for me and will set a better tone for future medical procedures. My initial consultation with Dr. Hussain went very well. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and I left feeling confident enough to schedule my surgery. On surgery day I was extremely nervous, extremely. Off the bat the receptionists calmed my nerves with their sweet smiles and affirmations. The technician/surgeons assistant, Emily guided me to the surgery room and got me all set up.She described every step which helps so much so that I knew what to expect. She was very kind and thoughtful. She is great at her job and I wish her the best in her medical career. A few other people passed through who very also very kind and helped to lighten the mood. Dr. Hussain came in to start surgery and talked me through things to help calm me. Before you know it I was knocked out and didn't even know it. Emily rolled me out to our car and now I am home recovering. I feel great and am going to take all the recommended steps to recover well. I hope this helps anyone with anxiety around this sort of thing. The staff and doctors are wonderful. Thank you. I forgot to mention the environment is very homey, comfortable, welcoming and smells clean and wonderful which always helps!

I…read moregot there on time sat in the waiting room for maybe 5 minutes before being taken back, and xrays done. I wait and wait . An hour goes by (12:30).... and I go to the reception desk and I tell the receptionist in the most calmest voice possible, "Hey, I've been sitting back there for an hour, and have not been seen , yet. " The receptionist apologized, and said that someone else's surgery is running over. I said I understand this, and it's not your fault. But no one has comeback there since bringing me in, and if I need to come on another day then I will, or if I'd known that the previous appointment was going to run over, I would have come at a later time . The receptionist said hold on a minute and let me talk to her (Dr. Summers). As she went back, the other staff member asked what I came in for, and I told her. "Torquing." The staff member responded, "Yeah, that usually doesn't take long. " In which I responded, "Yeah, that's the impression I got." I told the staff member that I would sit down in the waiting area while they figured out what was going to happen at this point. As I sit down, I notice others in the waiting room at this point, in which I know would be waiting just as long also, if my appt was an hour earlier and I hadn't been seen yet. Two minutes later, the staff member came to the door and said she's in the room. I go in, she's looking at the materials that the staff member laid out an hour prior and says she's just checking it. Asked if I had any issues with the implants, and proceeds to tighten them this is at 12:34. (She left in the middle of one procedure for approximately 2 minutes to do this.) This means I could have left 2 minutes after of being there, which is my first and main concern. My second concern is that after an hour of sitting in the back, no one came to check on me or update me on the delay. If I had a health issue going on, I could've passed out and no one would've come back to know, even after an hour. So to future/considering patients, unless things improve... Dr. Summers is great at her job true enough. However, I don't know if it's her avoiding time management/estimations or scheduling. Most professionals know how long their procedures will take, and take said information into account when scheduling, but I have not seen that here. And it could make a world of difference for her and the success of this practice. Or even just splitting the day doing surgeries from opening hours to two hours prior to closing, and using those last two hours on simple things that only take a minute or two such a torquing. Future or considering patients- If nothing improves at this practice, take a family member with you in case you're left waiting for an hour without being checked on, or also call before going to make sure that another person's appointment isn't going to overlap your appointment by an hour. *Also, please see the google review left by another person 5 days prior to my experience.*

She took her mother & a good friend back with her because she is autistic and has selective mutism so often needs someone to speak for her when she can't. Dr. Brown began immediately berating her for not having her wisdom teeth removed earlier in her life. She asked if someone could be with her when the IV was inserted because she was scared. He said, no. She got scared & nervous and of course her mutism kicked in as a panic attack happened. He had a God-like attitude telling them she would get tumors and die. He stated he was the only oral surgeon in NC and if they went elsewhere it would cost them $3,000! In the end HE canceled their surgery! The entire appt was appalling for a person who is disabled with special needs. However, I was in the car waiting and when this young adult came out trembling, crying, sobbing and having a panic attack I realized someone needed to educate him on persons with autism. So I went back in and quietly asked to speak to the dentist. I noted I was not going to cause trouble I simply wanted to have a conversation with him. I was finally allowed back into the treatment area but Dr. Brown immediately started trying to intimidate me. He would not discuss the situation, asked me to leave his premises and threatened to have me arrested. I suggested he call the police so we could work it out. As I went back out in the waiting room he followed me so I stated my thoughts angrily and loudly enough that those waiting knew he had berated and belittled a disabled person who has autism. He followed me outside the building, videoing me with his phone, tried to get the passenger to open their door and videoed my tag. I waited until the police arrived, told my side of the story and left. Be aware if you have dental fear, PTSD, special needs or someone with autism. He has no patience, no understanding and is the most arrogant professional I have ever met! I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.

He frightened him with his method of speaking to him. He refused to address the primary care giver for basic information that she had, instead asking me for the info even though I explained REPEATEDLY that I did not provide the care and so I did not have the answers. When he did speak to her, he spoke down to her. Additionally, my daughter had him for her wisdom teeth removal. She had been referred by her dentist. (If I had known she was going there, I would have helped her search for another oral surgeon.) He treated her as a second class citizen, talking down to her and berating her for not getting her wisdom teeth removed sooner (which her regular dentist didn't recommend at the time). I could go on, but suffice to say that it is an absolute shame that this person is working with people of less means and with disabilities as he treats them horrifically.

What kind of excuse It that? an inexcusable one!!! So the only way to continue the months out pre scheduled appointment was to pay out of pocket at that time, which left not many choices. I recommend going to an oral surgeon that cares about their patients, their families and have respect enough for them to give a heads up and not putting them in a financial crunch without even having the courtesy to give them a heads up. Not everyone is on an oral surgeons salary and maybe The office staff should take some courses on compassion and empathy instead of wealth management.

I had pain in a lower molar and wanted it removed, with intention to later get an implant when funds allow. I did not want a crown, a new filling, whatever. I wanted the tooth pulled and to get it over with. I made an appointment with her expecting no issues, like before. I drove two hours to see her and my mother hired care for my 95 year old grandmother AND drove 5 hours to be able to care for me after the extraction. My mother also joined us for the consult because I was very anxious and did not want to forget to ask anything important. Dr. Lane's ENTIRE demeanor was different than our previous visits with her and she refused to pull the tooth. When I tried to defend myself and my bodily autonomy, and when my mother tried to explain the loss of a days pay plus all the miles we had driven in order to see her, she was incredibly rude and unprofessional and actually kicked us out of her office, refusing to speak to us any further. Neither my mother nor myself raised our voices or said anything impolite but she acted like we were bullying her or something when all we wanted was for her to do her job! She said she would refer us to another office but didn't even tell us the name. She used to be someone with compassion who would remove non-visible teeth when her patients could not afford or tolerate the treatment it would take to save the tooth. Now since her practice has been bought out by a bigger company, she is an uppity, corporate shill who is willing to send patients home in pain. She gets offended and rude if you stand up for your right to decide what happens to YOUR own body. I am incredibly disappointed but fortunately I found a surgeon closer to home who took the tooth out with no issues or lecturing whatsoever, at less than half the absurd price she wanted. I put a bunch of unnecessary miles on my car and paid $300 for X-rays and a "consult" only for her to send me home in pain, feeling insulted. I used to recommend her to people all the time, but never again.
