Had blockage as a result of ear wax, he was the only doctor that clean out the ear canal by using a vacuum. Worked on the first try, but it is again time to revisit the doctor, it has been 3 years and need the procedure repeated. read more

Dr. Aferzon is my doctor! I have been seeing him for quite some time. Not only for the regular ear, nose and throat problems of which I have to see him quite often for but he has removed my left and right peridot glands which grew pretty large! These were done on two different occasions. They are pretty tricky to be removed as he had to weave in and out so as not to hit any nerves that could have left my face paralyzed. Six to eight hours for each surgery! I am happy to report that I had no I'll affects from each surgery! We were both happy that after they healed we could see that there were no scars! When you come across an excellent physician and a specialist, and that person truly cares about the well being of their patients, you know you've found not just a good doctor but a great one. I find myself fortunate to have had Dr. Mark Aferzon attend to issues I had with my long-term sinus problems. Not only did Dr. Aferzon properly diagnose the root causes (yes there was more than one issue), he did this with the efficiency and skill of a highly experienced practitioner. Dr. Aferzon patiently and clearly explained the procedures involved, wrote down a list of short videos to watch, articles to read and asked me to consider the steps involved before surgery. And when I was ready to commit to surgery, Dr. Aferzon gave me the odds of success and detailed all the steps I would have to follow during and post-surgery. For some reason, I had no hesitation and reservation before and during my two- and half-hour surgery ... which he performed with absolute precision and perfection. On the many occasions that I had to see Dr. Aferzon, I can only say that he was always on time, meticulous, courteous and caring. My follow up procedures were as good, and I am now well on my way to a full recovery. I can't thank Dr. Aferzon and his equally incredible staff, for guiding me through this process and the corrective surgery. Dr. Aferzon performed sinus surgery on my husband. At 9:30pm the following night we were on our way to the ER when Dr. returned our call and was awesome enough to meet us at his office this late at night. His nose was hemorrhaging blood. Also vomiting the blood that was swallowed down the back of his throat. It had been going on 2 hours when we arrived. Pints! Dr. repacked his nose and we left with no explanation how this happened. The doctor was as oblivious as were we. It happened again very shortly after the first event. Doctor said it was impossible. To this day we have gotten no explanation. The two stars are for him meeting us late at night rather than have the ER mess up his work as they wouldn't know what he did, as he put it. All that to say my husbands sinuses are no better. A year into his allergy shots my husband changed jobs along with his insurance but his office didn't accept BC/BS. We thought that odd. I too saw the doctor as my ears felt like I was on a permanent flight that continuously took off and landed as my ears wouldn't pop if you will. Months and months this went on. After his examination I was told he had no idea what it is or how to fix it. And away I went disillusioned and again with no answers. Maybe that was impossible too. It has finally cleared up on its own. If anyone knows what caused my husband to lose that much blood please let us know! read more

Dr. Aferzon is the best ENT I have visited for my ear problem. After seeing numerous doctors prior to him and getting steroid nasal sprays prescribed, that didn't do much to help. Also, countless hearing tests that revealed that I had bad hearing. Nothing seemed to be help. I discovered this office, and after a few short visits with Dr. Aferzon, the problem was drastically improved. He performed a great quick procedure, installing an ear tube. He is very professional and efficient in his work. You can tell he has a lot of experience and is very focused on the task at hand. The staff at the office is also very pleasant and courteous. If I could give this practice no stars I would. The front desk lady was nice, very boring office does not have much to make you feel comfortable but what can you expect when the doctor is not the greatest. Was a new patient took about 10 min to get me in and 2 min for the doctor to do his exam, ignore anything I had to say pertaining to the reason for my tonsil problem visit and completely shut me out from telling him what was going on. He mentioned they scheduled me for sinus issues, which I made very clear when I scheduled the appointment that it was for something completely different. Basically the doctor said I should see another doctor to remove the tonsils as he didn't see a reason for surgery or to just massage my own tonsils to get the debris out even though this has been a reoccurring issue for the last 8 years. Then not to mention he says on a scale of one to four your tonsils look about a two.... thanks. Well on a scale to one to four your practice looks and is a one. Don't waste your money, insurance benefits or time here. I've worked in many health care practices to know there are other doctors who are truly exceptional, love what they do and want to help you with your issues vs taking your money for your "pointless" (as he made it seem) visits. read more

Before Dr Aferzon, I had chronic illnesses and sinus infections. My allergies were horrible! I was always the "clogged" girl on the other end of the phone at work. Within 1 visit he ordered allergy testing and found that I had some pretty severe environmental allergies. I began immunotherapy and it was well worth it. Janet (who administers the injections) is so pleasant. I now only need to go for my injections twice a year. The doc is alright but his business office is out there to fleece patients. Normally, i ask any specialists i see to send my medical records to my primary. I asked these guys as well but they did not do it. After a few months of seeing him (dr aferzon), I needed to see an endocrinologist and who wanted my med. records. I called dr aferzons office and was told by an extremely rude woman that i would be charged for it. I've seen many doctors and practices; asking for money to forward medical records to specialists was definitely unheard of. Would not recommend this practice to anyone. read more

Well I like Dr.Aferzon. For well over 20 yrs I have been saddled with sinus pressure headaches and not being able to blow my nose and now poof, they are gone. What a feeling. He fixed my deviated septum that was broken 43 yrs ago (this was a tough one) along with sinus balloon procedure and cleaning of all areas affected. I was back at work in two days and I am a chef. Everyone was great and yes he is a doll once you get use to him..I get it, I have the same energy level. . You accept people for who they are. The allergist is a hoot and the rest of the staff. I have fun with them at the office. Have just referred a couple of people over to this office.. I have been walking around saying to myself, "I almost feel human" because I can breath with ease. My experience started off well as the women at reception were friendly and helpful. After that it went down hill quickly. Once I finally got in to see the doctor he seemed quite rushed and as though he wanted to get my consultation over with ASAP. He commented how I'd driven quite a distance(45 minutes) to see him. Maybe he doesn't realize that's what you sometimes have to do these days to stay "in network" with insurance. That was my mistake anyway as I still had to pay for the entire visit. His distracted and dismissive attitude wasn't helping either. He didn't mention anything about the blood tests I'd had done prior to my visit. Once I brought them up he quickly disregarded them. Thanks, glad I spent the $160 to have them done. I actually think he suspected me of doctor shopping for prescription painkillers. Right, as if I'd have gone through the trouble, let alone the five minutes of him man handling my extremely sore and sensitive mouth, as well as the $250 charge for a thoroughly frustrating and disappointing examination for a few Percocet. Schedule me for a follow up visit? I think not. read more

Dr. Aferzon has no bedside manner. Very dismissive when you're asking questions or need something clarified. Literally says "shush" when I had questions and he was reading on his laptop. He performed a sinus surgery in his office on me in July 2015. NIGHTMARE doesn't even begin to describe what happened. Wound up in the hospital because he didn't seem to care that I was vomiting blood for 7 hours after. I just had the correct surgery with a terrific ENT and she said whatever he did left substantial damage and scar tissue. She said he had no business operating in his office when I needed extensive work done. Oh and when I left to find a new ENT they never even forwarded my records after weeks of waiting. My new Doctor is with the same hospital so she accessed them no problem. The staff is ok but he is NOT! I tell everyone I know to stay away. I've had my PCP tell me that several patients complained about him to her as well. Not good. HUGE disappointment read more

Dr. Aferzon has no bedside manner. He is rude and short. During my initial consultation, I was shushed and told, " I ask the questions!". He really did not want to hear my sinus history to truly understand what was going on. I told him had a gland that filled with fluid located around my collar bone and he said that is not connected and he couldn't solve it. Exactly where is the fluid coming from. He treats his staff with absolutely no respect and chastises them when they are not there when he calls on the intercom. As result, his staff is very stressed and works hard to keep patients moving through. His intense and stressed life has finally caught up to him...leaving his patients in a lurch to 2 days a week one being Saturday. read more

So I went to visit this doc for the first time yesterday because I've had a chronic cough for some time. My appointment was for 1:30 and I arrived at 1:20. Doctor was late because he had an emergency at the hospital. I get it...its fine that he was an hour late for my appointment but once he saw me he was rude. He kept rushing through my appointment and wouldn't even let me talk. He kept shooshing me and telling me to listen to him. I was appalled. No doctor has ever treated me like that.
