I recently was speaking to the owner of a condo unit regarding a rental. We agreed I would rent…read morehis unit, but he told me I had to work through his agent, Lawrence Stone, in the Margate, NJ Soleil Sotheby office. I called Larry Stone, and was informed that I would have to fill out a rental application before he could write up a lease. I informed Larry that I had terrible credit since I was out of work sick since 2007 and was now on Soc. Sec. Disability for my income but in the meantime my credit got demolished. Larry Stone informed me that would not be a problem since the owner had already approved me for the rental. I again informed Larry that I would pay the $45 fee to submit the application if he was sure I was pre-approved and again he said "Just get it filled out and bring the money over to the office, no problem, your already approved. I've been doing this for years, trust me." As stated, I know my credit is terrible, but I believed Larry, I don't like wasting $45 especially being on a fixed income. So I brought the application and the money as requested, and next thing the owner is calling me telling me he can't rent to me since the agent found I have bad credit and would not write a lease! I call Larry and he says sorry, no refunds on the $45, even though he guaranteed I was already approved. He then hangs me up on the phone and tells me I better not threaten him! I simply feel I should get back my $45, I am not angry over being declined for the credit, but I was told there was no chance I was going to pay $45 and not be approved.

My family is now homeless because Mike's lack of communication, and knowledge when it comes to the real estate market. Let me update you guys here: We hired Joe and his team as our property manager for a property. We have at The Beach a few years ago. Every time we have a problem with a Tenant he immediately starts screaming that we have to do whatever they tell us to do to make them happy, never even looking into the situation to see if they might be scamming or scheming or trying to get away with something Never supports his clients When my wife tried to speak to him about it, he screamed at her for five minutes on the phone, not letting her get a word in edgewise told her that he was tired of representing our property if we're not gonna do what the tenants want. Since then, he has not returned any of my calls to address the situation (sign of a guilt conscience) and is hiding his head in the sand, hoping that this will all be forgotten No, sorry, Joe. DO NOT WORK WITH HIM! HE DOES NOT SUPPORT HIS CLIENTS.
