After a couple of bad experiences with other builders/remodelers/contractors a few years ago, I…read morereached out to Bounds Building & Remodeling. Am I ever grateful that I did. It doesn't matter if the project is large or small, Tim and his team will be there to complete the work timely and professionally. They've helped me with everything from a new roof to redoing the kitchen sink plumbing. Definitely give Bounds Building & Remodeling a call if you need any work done in your home.

First of all, this contractor will only call you back if he thinks the job your looking to have…read moredone is a quick pay to put a buck in his pocket. He didn't call my sister back after she left 3 messages asking for the free quote that he advertised. He picks only job where he can mark materials way up to make more on a job. Second, when I hired him, I was leery about his professionalism and skill set from the beginning due to his lack of education and professional training yet gave him the job anyways since he undercut our family contractor by quite a bit. About 2 months into the project, I began getting calls from the material suppliers indicating that Tim (he business owner) had not paid for the materials for my job. There were kitchen cabinets, driveway materials, lumber and even electrical components. I WAS GETTING CONTACTED BY THE VENDORS who were looking for payment from Tim Bounds. I reviewed my contract with Bounds Building and Remodeling and just as I knew it read when I signed it, my contract was for the job's labor AND materials. I finished paying the second half of my contract 3 weeks before he even completed the work (the work he did still has issues but there is NO way I am ever letting this guy back in my house, I have been calling new contractors to fix his work) This guy, Tim Bounds, obviously doesn't pay his vendors and his customers end up feeling the stress of his lacking professionalism. I wouldn't hire this creep again if my life depended on it.

Absolute worst experience of our lives working with key homes. What was supposed to be the most…read moreexciting time for us as a couple getting our first home, quickly turned into a nightmare. As soon as our home was delivered the problems began... the siding was the wrong color. But it didnt end there. They took weeks to even come to our home to work on it and I cant think of one time they came and didnt make a mistake. Mistakes that they didnt come to fix for months might I add. Communication was basically non existent. They never answered our emails or calls and when they did they were of no help and had no care about what was happening. These are people's homes they are working on and they give no thought or care into their work. Many things were done so poorly we will have to end up spending money to fix them ourselves. We paid for cabinets throughout the house to be stained and none were. Only until about a year into the process ( which was only supposed to be a 6 month max process) did they let us know that they sealed the cabinets without staining. And now they've been impossible to work with on getting the situation fixed. They even told us they wont put the stain we want on them when they do get around to sanding them down. So we will have to pay for stain on top of the stain we already paid for that was never put on!!! But thats only one of the countless issues. They also are supposed to grade the yard but to no suprise they "didnt have time", so we had to pay out of pocket again to get that done, when its already included in the price of the home. And when we asked for a credit for the work we needed to get done, they offered $800... you cant even rent one peice of equipment for that price!! I could go on and on about the mistakes they've made and the terrible communication but I will just say this... DO NOT go through key homes if you want to have a nice experience building your dream home. They are absolutely not worth the stress or the money. You'll end up paying more than what the house is worth by the time its finally done. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about our awful experience in hopes that they will pass it on further for others to know this is a terrible company.. We are hitting a year into this process and still have an unfinished home and so much more to do and fix... If you do decided to go with key homes, good luck and I hope you have tons of patience and money to throw away.

At first, I would have recommended this business if you're interested in a modular build. The…read moresalesman was new, which we had no issues with. We actually encouraged it in order for him to gain experience and knowledge. Going through the process was a struggle. We had to practically beg for info. After everything was submitted to the underwriter, she over estimated the taxes and we were denied our home plan. It was no fault of ours or of KeyHomes. The issue lies in the fact that, after we informed them of the happenings with our loan, the sales staff we were working with never contacted us to say ANYTHING AT ALL! Not one word, email, text message or phone call. Nothing; sorry to hear you can't go forward, keep us in mind in the future, let us know if you qualify for a different loan. NOTHING! Good business would be to at least touch base and offer future services. Especially when we were trying to spend well over a quarter million dollars with them! $327,000 to be accurate! Best advice is to look around when wanting to build a modular or stick built.
