Mark is a great educator, performer, entertainer, and showman. I first met Mark at the Magic Castle and he was very engaging from the moment he stepped in the door until the moment we parted ways. I've been to the Magic Castle a handful of times, but I will say that this was my favorite trip yet. Mark was able to show us tons of pictures on the walls and told us stories about some great magicians, as well as the history of the castle and how the family created what it became today. I've never paid more attention to the decor on the walls because the castle can be a little overwhelming, but having a guide to walk us through the portraits really helped. Mark took advantage of every little moment to keep us engaged with his sleight of hand tricks. From using the small table located near the bar downstairs to even bringing out some tricks while we were waiting for dinner, Mark seemed to pull these illusions out of the air. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of meeting Mark last week at The Magic Castle. It was our first experience there, and having Mark guide us through the castle truly made the experience that much more magical (no pun intended!). We were so impressed by how knowledgeable he was about the features of the castle and its history. What's more is that he made an effort to incorporate each of us into his tricks to personalize our experiences. I went with a group of friends to the Magic Castle on February 18, and Mark Paskell gave us a private tour/show. Having grown up watching a lot of David Copperfield, it is really refreshing to be able to experience close up magic in real life and not through a computer screen. All of his tricks are flawless and well-executed, and he engages everyone in the group in each of his tricks. If you're lucky, you get to keep a little souvenir (I kept the signed coin, and my friend kept a signed poker card). So I see that the most of the Yelp reviews for Mark are for his magic skills, but I'm reviewing his balloon animal wizardry and kid-whispering ability! Our family sees Mark almost every Saturday morning when we have breakfast at a local restaurant. My 2 year old starts asking if he can see "bah-yoon guy" (balloon guy) from the moment he wakes up to the second Mark appears at his side. He's made my son intricate balloon puzzles, animals, rockets etc. and best of all, he makes my boy laugh. I could see him being a huge hit at birthday parties. Also, we noticed that Mark knows how to make parents happy. Either through intuition or experience, he knows to visit our table when our kid is almost done eating, instead of when we're in the middle of breakfast. (Though it doesn't stop my son from calling out "bahyooooon guyyyy!" every time Mark gets anywhere near us.) read more

I hired Mark Paskell for my mother's 87th birthday. The venue was at a restaurant and his performance space rather limited. First let me say he arrived promptly. He began the show introducing himself by going to each table performing very up close magic. However, the best part was what followed, close to 40 min. of wonderfully performed magic.
