This is the newest of the Market Lane shops and it seemed an odd move since they have the Therry St shop about 50 meters away.
People find it a bit confusing where to order and even more confused that it's a market, not an art gallery, so get out of peoples way!
I prefer this one as it's not as claustrophobic. I like walking through the dairy hall when it's not busy, the sights, the smells, then grabbing a coffee and croissant.
My problem with all Market Lane Coffee shops is the inconsistency. They recently put their prices up for the first time in many years to $4.5 for a small. I understand it, I just hope that increase is passed onto the staff and suppliers. However, being one of the more expensive speciality coffee places in Melbourne, I expect my coffee to be good most of the time. 60-70% it's average, over extracted, or not quite what I ordered.
