Market Square is such a cute spot in the heart of downtown Knoxville. I walked through this space a few times while staying in the area. The pedestrian mall is so nice and creates a unique oasis in the heart of the city. There are benches, tables, trees, sculptures, and a water fountain that can be enjoyed as a splash pad. I saw they were setting up for a market of some kind when I was getting ready to leave town on a weekday morning. I'm sure they have lots of events here. There are lots of options for dining and some shopping right in the immediate square. It was a bustling and energetic spot that reminded me of the Church Street Marketplace in Burlington, VT and the downtown area of Boulder. If I lived in the area I feel like I would be here often. I was on foot, but it seemed like there is ample parking nearby.

I really hate we didn't get to explore Market Square more! We just stopped off from our road trip from VA to have brunch in TN. This area has lots of shops and restaurants. I'm a fan! There is so much to see and do. On the weekends , the nearby parking garage is free. Bonus!! I plan to come back soon to really get into all Market Square has to offer! Stay tuned .....

This is such a beautiful oasis in the middle of downtown Knoxville. Big shady trees, interesting art and sculptures, the farmers market and much much more. I really enjoy walking around and taking a look at all of the varieties of restaurants. There really is a little something for everyone. Parking can be found all around the square although during peak hours and events it can be quite busy. Highly recommended especially for the farmers market and restaurants.

Market Square is quintessential Knoxville and truly the heart of our city. Out-of-town guest visiting? Beautiful day out? Market Square is the place to be. Fountains, sculptures, restaurants, shops, street performers/musicians, tree-shaded benches perfect for reading, and many ongoing events and activities (Like the Nourish farmer's market) can be found right here. Strong Alley, the alleys between Gay St. and Market Square have TONS of must-see murals created by local artists. Gay St. is one street over and has even more shops, great restaurants, super cool bowling alley (Maple Hall), a movie theater, karaoke bar, and two of the best ice cream shops known to man (Phoenix Pharmacy and Cruz Dairy). As for parking, there are garages and street parking all over the place. The Market Square garage- if you park weeknights from 6 pm-7 am or any weekend time, IT.IS.FREE!

It is a touristy spot but it is great place to find dining spots and bars. The evenings come to life with some street performers. Convenient to the theaters. If you like a quieter vibe, head towards Old Town.

The hangout spot in the downtown area of Knoxville, this square is restaurants, confectioneries and busking musicians. There are a number of benches where you can sit. Also, several of the restaurants have outdoor seating though it was way too cold for that this evening. Great place for chilling and it's nice to have the music while you're waiting for your table. We took the whole family to Market Square's Farmers Market on Saturday morning. There was something there for everyone. We bought plants, soaps, sauces, etc. We were especially excited about the newly discovered sauce booth called "Steaming' Steve's " their sauces were yummy yummy with just the perfect amount of kick and scream! Lol!

Lovely spot for finding a wide variety of tasty & unique foods. Inside/outside dining. Always some local artist showing their creativity, whatever it may be. The "Mural Alley" is very cool!

Market Square is so fun! Great restaurants, shops, things to see and do. It maybe small but it packs a punch! Awesome part of downtown Knoxville.

This is the perfect place to eat, you can pack your lunch or take advantage of the many restaurants at the square. They have history to read on the statues. It tells of the local things that happened and the helpers in the area. It's a nice place to rest in the shade from shopping or play in the interactive fountain for the kids. Or adults

Market Square is the best. Lively and historic. The best times to take a stroll are summer evenings when music is playing all around and everyone is smiling, or winter, when the ice skating rink is set up in the square. Good food and times to be had here! There are festivals that take place in the square throughout the year. It's a lovely time

I was glad I had my "driver". The mall is clean with a Southern vibe. I saw one restaurant. I did not see mall maps to help me locate stores. Prices were pretty good in the stores that I entered.
