Sent to market street: I strongly recommend hiring staff that speaks English. It was very painfull purchasing deli meats. It took 20 minutes to get a quarter pound of ham. Two other customers just walked away. The response: We aim to build a diverse and inclusive team at Safeway, and many of our staff speak multiple languages to better serve a wide range of customers. However, every team member has received training in fluent English communication to ensure clear and friendly service for all shoppers, regardless of language background This doesn't work for me. This is the best grocery store in Odessa! Clean, fresh, affordable food! You can find your way around easily and also find natural products and foods. Additionally, they have a great beer & wine selection. Lastly, they hire people with disabilities which I love. Have ordered groceries for pickup 4 times from here. Everytime I have waited between 45 minutes-1 hour from my scheduled pickup time. The online check in process doesn't actually notify anybody that you have arrived, you must call the number which doesn't actually lead to the grocery department just calls the store in general then they transfer you and it usually just rings. Have had to go inside twice to find someone to bring out groceries. If you're gonna do grocery pickup just use HEB. Will not order from here again read more

We attended their Spring Bridal fair and saw so many beautiful floral creations, that we decided to schedule our wedding flowers with them. Beth Kator was so interested and attentive to the Bride's choices. She masterfully wove artificial succulents into fresh greenery and flowers to create the most beautiful bouquets! Market Street is great for the variety. They carry a lot of stuff that other grocery stores in town don't have. There was a misunderstanding about the point system and how it works. I was told by customer service that I had 97 points. Turns out there's a difference between points and rewards which is very misleading as I got all my groceries thinking I had 97 rewards. Kind of a bummer but will still shop there none the less. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. I ordered groceries for delivery on line with a specific note that if anything was sold out or needed to be substituted to call or text my cell phone. Of course there were things I ordered they didn't have in stock so they just left them off my list without contacting me for what substitutes I wanted. Great Smoked Turkey Breast plate. I got a fresh moist plate while my wife got the last of a dry breast. The warm peach cobbler was amazing and the sides were very good. I really enjoy the new Market Street. When I was a teenager my favorite part of grocery shopping was getting a salad from the salad bar, but when I came to this area, none of the grocery stores had one until the new Market Street came along. All of the salad fixings are fresh and of really high quality. Also the pizza from the deli was good. They have a lot of cooked food to order at the deli which I still need to try. For less than the price of a fast food meal you can get a really good, filling, nutritious meal here and especially with the salad bar get whatever you would like to eat. There is plenty of dining seating available. The dining facility at this grocery store is much better than most restaurants for good food, getting it quick, selection, and price. As far as the grocery departments, they seem to have a better selection than the old Albertson's and the bakery-made bread was very fresh and good. They have some really neat things like a honey dispenser where you can fill your own bottle and a peanut butter grinder. They have a lot of the specialty products of the Midland HEB without the crowdedness of that store. My only negative point is that for me, the store is in kind of an inconvenient location for getting into and out of the parking lot and it is not near to where I usually am in Midland. That is not their fault though. I will make a longer trip here than to other establishments just for how good it is. read more

I am going to be taking my business elsewhere because there was this cashier named Evangeline she was very rude and she was being prejudice towards me while I was scanning my items she was just watching me more then she was watching everyone else then when I was scanning my sodas the self check out machine call her because I wasn't bagging my sodas then she started scrolling though the screen like if she was looking for something i didn't scan then i ask her for her name and she said another name but i look at her name tag and saw it said Evangeline then I called the store asked to speak to the store manager and a assistant manager named rusty answer the phone then when I started to tell him the problem i was having with his cashier Evangeline he started yelling not letting me finish telling him what happened he was taking his cashier side even before I finished telling him what happened and then he told me there is a whole bunch of stores to go to if I didn't like the way I was being treated so corporate you should really investigate this relationship going on between this manger and employee cause they are going to cause yall to lose alot of customers like me i work hard for my money and I am going to be taking my business elsewhere where they appreciate it and where they care about their customers . People we work hard for our money and if it isn't for us customers they wouldn't have a paycheck and God bless everyone read more

We've visited this store frequently since it opened and often eat breakfast or lunch there on Sundays. This morning, my wife and I popped by for breakfast and ordered a bacon paninni. When the panninni timer went off, one of the workers got it off the grill and started platting it up. Trouble is, when the timmer went off, she was putting raw chicken on the grill. She didn't stop to wash hands and change gloves. She went from handling raw food directly to handling my sandwich. I'm not prone to complaining about kitchen cleanliness. Restaurants are busy and little things happen. But cross contamination is serious business. This was a deal breaker. read more

Great store environment to do some grocery shopping. Plus their deli is top notch. I recommend their grilled chicken breast, it is quite tasty. Prices at the deli are very reasonable. You can have a meal for less than $10 as long as you don't order BBQ. I haven't had the BBQ but it looks good and it is priced a little higher than the rest of their options. The fried chicken is superb. The veggies are great as well. Where I will say they could improve is the prices of every day items. I find the prices at HEB better. They do have a rewards program of some sort. I haven't had a chance to really look into that though. They also have a starbucks inside the store for a quick caffeine fix. read more

Mihn is a great employee!! I wasn't aware the bakery was closed at 9:30 but REALLY wanted a cake in the window (don't judge ha). He walked by and asked if we needed help then called over a manager to get the cake (I think it was locked up). I greatly appreciate his help and to ask customers if they need help instead of avoiding customers like the target does. This place irks me to no end. Their prices are higher than anybody in town. What really bugs me is the fact that they have no cart returns,yeah their policy is that customers don't carry out their own groceries but usually they don't have enough baggers or they are bagging someone else's groceries. Then they ask you if you want a take out creating an atmosphere that in my opinion makes you feel guilty for asking for it. Just sit in the parking lot and take notice of the carts left out there or the people walking empty carts back to the store. Come on most people aren't lazy just get some cart returns. I went in to the bakery over a week ahead of time to preorder my daughter birthday cake. Order a certain flavor, icing color, and decor for a 13 year olds birthday party. Cake was supposed to be ready Friday at 4pm. Party started at 6. I went around 3:30 to see if it was ready by chance. Not only was it not ready they couldn't find my order what so ever. Then I was told that they placed it in the orders for the next day. So she threw a cake together for me. Yes, it tasted fine but looked nothing like I had originally planned for. One star. Something/someone must actively do evil to earn this rating. It hurts businesses, it can besmirch otherwise well-earned reputations--I don't give this rating lightly. But they consistently--and defiantly, as I found--charge you different (higher, always higher) prices at the register than the product's listed price. To wit: a six-pack of Franziskaner Bier. Sale price: $8.99. Register price: $9.99. Priceless customer service: when I alerted the clerk that the sale price was $8.99, she scoffed at me and justified the erroneous price. "Yeah, it usually goes for $16.99, and now it's $9.99," as if I should be thankful that I'm paying the wrong amount! I've never experienced that type of brazen disrespect from a store, ever. No willingness to double-check the price; no deferral to the customer at all. Just attitude and a blind rebuttal to the customer. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. And that's not all. Boneless Beef Ribeye: $7.99/lb. Actual price that the butcher pulled up on the computer: $8.98/lb. The "$7.99/lb." sign WAS ON THE STEAK. ON THE STEAK. Priceless customer service: when I alerted the clerk of the correct price, he reacted with the same disrespectful attitude that I received from the register clerk. "No," I said, "it's $7.99." "No, it's $8.98," he retorted. We actually go back and forth for a little bit. I couldn't believe that he didn't pull the price tab from the front of the display case upon my correction, but he stood his ground. I told him to look at the tab himself, but he refused initially, stating that I was reading the wrong tab. The one that was on the steak. Begrudgingly, he pulled the price tab himself and flipped it over to read the $7.99 price. He grumbled about MY ATTITUDE and reluctantly changed the price. What incentive do these employees have to rip off their customers? That's what I want to know. Does Albertson's grant them a commission every time they tack on a dollar or two to a listed price? That's the only incentive I can see for these acts of willful defiance. I mean, this is how thieves behave. Crooks. Cheats. I'm surprised that the meat clerk didn't push his thumb against the scale to bump up the price of that (mediocre) steak. This was on the same visit. I've had several instances of "scanner error" pricing at this particular store--spaghetti sauce, ice cream, more beer--and I've brought the pricing errors to the attention of the clerks. Mostly, they double-check the prices and make the corrections without complaint. They happen so often that I just assumed that they're too busy to keep up with updating their shelf pricing with the computer. I get that. But this just takes it to another level. Defending your pricing errors with such gall completely shocks me. I have no sympathy for this type of immoral behavior. Sadly, this is familiar ground for Albertson's. Scanner errors cost Albertson's stiff fines in the Los Angeles area. If inspectors were to audit this store, I'm sure that they'll find the same thing. I don't even shop at this store regularly (and I will never do so again after my last experience there), but it stands out as a frequent occurrence here. It's disgusting. If you shop at this store, be sure to analyze your receipt carefully, especially if you're purchasing items that are "on sale." Don't let them rip you off. the front end management is sincerely a hot mess. there is so much drama and favoritism on the front end primary manager (I won't mention HER name) she surrounds herself with young people that don't know anything about customer service and she promotes them with zero experience. she and her assistant (not the tall young man) treat older people working there with disrespect and harassment to a point where they lose any sense of belonging. there are young girls and boys cashiering that are on their phone, refusing to acknowledge customer and down right rude... and nothing is done. the store manager is hardly ever there and the assistant manager doesn't do anything even though he sees it because the younger people suck up to him. they don't care about older people with customer service skills and experience just the young ones that make that female front end manager feel better about herself. Customers complain constantly and nothing is done because said customers don't want to go to the chaotic heb so the management just blows it off. And the worst part is EVERYONE knows at the other stores in the area and upper management knows but turns a blind eye. read more

It's a neat store, but the customer service is just terrible. Sadly, that seems to be a lot of places in west Texas. Stopped here about two weeks ago and ordered the Western Burger. The girl behind the counter was looking out into space and heard only what she wanted to hear. Charged me for the highest priced burger they sell instead. Then today at Subway, the gentlemen in front of me ordered a salad and a drink---over $11! And this was the most pathetic salad he or I had both ever seen. When I went to check-out, the lady with her tattoos and bad hair didn't say anything to me. I even tried to get her to laugh or say something to brighten her day---nothing. Yes, I am well aware that Albertson's is generally more expensive than other grocery stores. Ok, ok, it is way overpriced, but you have to admit that they do have good sales from time to time (ie. 10 for $10). I used to live real close to this particular store (next to Hobby Lobby) and therefore was a frequent shopper. I have now switched to HEB for both quality, price, and selection, but it is hard to beat the great staff at this Albertson's. I have lived here for almost 4 years and other than the highschoolers/summer workers, I recognize the same staff, which says something good to me both about the staff and management. If there was a worker stocking veggies or fruit in produce they would always say hi and smile or ask if was finding everything OK. Maybe I just always look confused, but I think it is the nice employees. Everybody seems to go out of their way, even if it is to get you a box of brats that just went on sale and even if they ended up being the worst brats you've ever eaten. One time, I wanted to by the mylar chicken balloon floating happily above the fried chicken. The deli worker found a manager and did a price check with the mylar cow over the fresh meats. They made sure I got that balloon. I knew what checkout clerks would give away extra monopoly pieces so I might eventually end up with some kind of cooking pan (I did indeed get a wok). Albertson's has the best fresh, french bread, hands down. Not to mention, on my lucky days they wear french bread bags as hats. Oh yeah, I can't forget the chocolate chip cookies!! I love this store also. The only thing that isn't too good is the parking and there isn't anything that can be done about it. But all the ladies who help me out in the lotions, soaps, and essential oil department are just wonderful. The people in the produce are helpful. And actually every department has people who go out of their way to help me. The ladies in the pharmacy are the so nice and cheerful all the time. I am glad that this store has been revamped. When I want groceries, I want groceries, not rows of gardening, books, toys, games, and junk. I have bad knees. When I have to walk miles of isles in WalMart and HEB just to get a few groceries, I end up in terrible pain for hours. They are set up for marketing purposes so that you have to walk all over the store to get what you want or need. I would pay more any day, just to avoid the pain of walking through the big stores. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I have never had a problem with any of them. I am able to get everything I want at Albertsons. I do go to the dollar stores for certain items and watch ads at CVS and Walgreen for some sale items. But I want to be able to get in and out of a store quickly and Albertsons allows me to do that.
