People were nice for service, however the estimate was 1 hour plus an additional 1/2hr to inspect backup camera on a recall. It has now been 2hrs and 5 minutes. I just went to check on the timing of completion and I'm told the computer wasn't working for the camera inspection. I am still waiting for my car to be brought out front and I will have to return another time for the recall inspection (an hour drive one way). Still waiting. read more

Very unhappy with my experience and I will never be going back. Story time: I got in an accident with my Subaru Forester back in early January, hit black ice, $7400 in damages. Markquart got my car in February and back to me "fixed" by mid March. Upon getting my car back, it would not drive straight, steering wheel clearly sat hard to the right, loud clunking underneath and my rear window wouldn't work. NO one clearly test drove or ran an alignment test on my car that was in a massive accident! I was told it was not on them to take cars for drives at high speeds... I was going 25mph and it would drive right off the road. I called Chris, left a voicemail and didn't hear back until 2 weeks later. I could hardly drive my car and I was in disbelief they would think that was ok or safe to put back on the road. Brought it back, wrote down everything that was wrong with my car so they knew what to fix. Came to pick up my car, and my window still didn't work... had to schedule another appointment to get back in. Got back in to fix my window, but then was told they had to order a part. I was also told that it was coincidence that the window went out at the same time as my accident, so it would not be covered. It worked before my accident, but then "coincidentally" stopped working at the same time as my accident... what? Thankfully, I was told the part was only $35 out of pocket. Got the call my part was in, brought my car back for the 4th time and apparently they diagnosed it wrong and it was the wrong window motor. Good news, they had the part on hand that we needed, so they gave me a loaner for the day and said they'd call when it was done. I go in to pick up my car and they tell me I owe $211, not $35. Over 5x more than what they told me. No one called me about the new cost or communicated anything! So here we are, almost June, got in my accident in the beginning of January and my car is finally fixed, hopefully. I will not be going back and will highly recommend people to never go here. read more

Worst car buying experience I've had. Worked with Sam Robertson. Told him I was interested in purchasing a vehicle and told him I would be in the next day around 11-Noon. Get a call from him at 10AM saying how I need to put down a $500 deposit because two people are interested in buying the car at that very moment. Told him to go ahead and sell it since I have yet to even come see the car, test drive it, or get my trade-in appraised. Best part is, it was a non-refundable deposit... After that, he tells me its okay, he will just hold it for me... Okay. I get there and he was not professional at all. Didn't seem to care for our business whatsoever with the way he communicated with us in a "we don't need your business" kind of way. Then he tried to rip us on our trade-in and says how they will only relist the vehicle for half of what KBB says.. right. But that's not what I am mad about. Just the awful customer service. I ended up getting a better deal and buying from a different local dealership. With all of this being said, I am from the area and have had pleasant experiences at Markquart and their service center workers are all awesome and friendly so I am not saying don't go here to shop. A single bad salesman doesn't make the whole dealership bad.. I am not sure if this guy is maybe new or maybe he just didn't like me so what I am saying is continue to shop here and support Markquart. But I would highly recommend any other salesperson at least until this guy gets retrained... read more

I made an appointment for Monday to get an oil service and my powe running boards looked at under warranty and here it is Thursday and they have not even looked at it or do the oil service. why do we make appointments if you can keep them. At lest they could have called me on Fri to tell me they were 8 days out. Not let me bring it there and be without a vehicle for god knows how long. Better yet my extended warranty witch I bought through them gives me a loaner car. I didn think I needed one for an oil servic. Now it's Thursday and I need a vehicle for the weekend and they tell me they can't because i didn't discuss this at the time of the appointment. They didn't tell me it would be 8 DAYS. Jelly already told us that we have to pay to diagnose the problem you called, and with the lack of empathy or taking responsibility for causing this issue - I am not interested in trying to convince anyone at your company to do the right thing. Had an appointment for 9am on Wed and was told when I got there that they MIGHT get to look at it by the end of the week, and no..Markquart doesn't let you have a loaner while you wait for their backed up service dept unless you pay $40/day!!!! I was told, "You make the appointment with the consultant, not the actual service tech." Umm. NO! I did not make a 9am Wed appointment so I could wait until next week to get my vehicle back. I called 2pm on Thur and Caleb told me he would call as soon as he knew more and I told him I needed the vehicle for a Fri trip. I called at 4:40, was told Caleb was with a customer. I left a voicemail. NO call back. After 5pm, went up to get the vehicle and Caleb had LEFT without returning my call. Want to know why I go to New Richmond or the Twin Cities to buy vehicles? My son made and appointment to buy 4 new tires have them mounted balanced aligned. Gave them the tires he wanted to buy set up the appointment drops off the car. Told it will need to stay overnight then call him a couple hours later to say we don't have the tires you wanted. We will call you back to let you know when we will have them. 2 days later no call back. This place is a joke. Please don't give them your business!! read more

I too had an issue, went in for routine maintenance and left without air conditioning... (not cooling ) Called and talked with someone ,who said it can't be the technicians fault ,because they don't get near the air system .. Why then did the ac just happen to not get cool only after the oil change/filter/courtesy inspection/tire rotation...Now I guess I have to pay for the diagnostics to find out what they did to my car..doesn't seem like a very fair dealership to me,do they do this to other woman ? Continue to be very happy with both new car purchases (thank you Randy Bearson) as well as service done to keep them like new. Quick, efficient, friendly, nearby, and good value. Update: 12-19-17. Not so happy today. Service work came in at 145% of estimate, took 3 hours and should have taken 1, and now I have a tire that is constantly losing air (first time in 10 years ). Service rep: "you might be getting a survey" and I'm to remember that it only reflects my interaction with him, and not the actual visit.... What??? read more

I didn't personally go through the sales process here so I can't comment on their practice, aside from a mention that they do a flat rate thing and my parents have purchased two cars from here so I imagine it's civil. I did come through for the complimentary 10,000 mile service and was super pleased with the staff and facilities. The building is brand new and conveniently located off highway 53. They have a lounge you can wait in while they work on your car. It's comparable to a hotel continental breakfast/business lounge. They have coffee bottle water and fruits, as well as three computers you can use while you wait. As far as dealership experiences go, this has definitely been the most pleasant. Probably doesn't hurt that they have free internet and I didn't leave this place pissed off and significantly poorer, which is unheard of for me in my car repair experiences. read more

This dealership really values THEIR value and does not have an inkling of what true customer appreciation is all about. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone because they do not stand for customer satisfaction they are more interested in the ink being dry on the paper - done deal. In a world where we all have choices of where to do business I have learned never to do business with this dealer again. I will chalk it up to lesson learned. If Toyota really knew how their product was being represented in the market place they would not approve of their tactics and business practices. It's a shame because I have driven past this dealership for years imaging and dreaming of the day when I would walk in there and buy a car. The air conditioning was fixed, and a new ABS sensor installed. They took it for a drive and LO a new code was thrown! Turns out the ABS system now needs another part worth $900 plus $100 to install. Now he tells me that I don't need them anyway because the suburban engines are so heavy the ABS is not worth it. So, I asked if I could get my money back for the ABS sensor they already installed. No deal. He told me the headlights off market cost were a deal at $75 each. Buyer Beware: I just googled headlights for my vehicle and what do you know? They sell for $51, $42, $67 -- I will never visit this place again, and I will not buy my future car there either. Update: I should have checked the air conditioner before taking it off the lot. Lo, when the weather was hotter I tried to use it, it didn't work either. John M. complains about working on an older vehicle and all the possible problems it could have; however, it didn't stop them from taking my money did it? Why didn't they just say they wouldn't do the work? The company did offer to have my vehicle returned for further air conditioning service but I didn't want them to find another code which was going to cost me even more money. A refund would have been appreciated. read more

This is for Markquart Motors Service department. I setup my appointment so I could have a free rental while my car was being worked on. The free rental was the reason I went with Markquart even though they were the highest priced out of 4 local shops. I said I had to have my car back by 3pm. The service man said it would take 5 hours for my front right wheel bearing and that I need to call the parts department to make sure they have the needed parts. 5 hours was high compared to all other shops which quoted 2 hours, but I made the appointment for 8:30am. Day of my appointment I drop my car off early, knowing they won't start early. I double check about the labor hours and I am told the time is really 2.4 hours. 5 and a half hours later at 2pm I call them and say I need to pick my car up at 3pm. Then I am told they just ordered parts from NAPA and should be there around 3pm. I ask the price of part and I am told $280, after a very quick search I find NAPA sells the part for $180. So I have to drive there to get my kids car seats so I can pick them up safely. At this time I am upset and tell them I will be back at 4:30pm to pick up my car, so I don't miss my work hours the next day. Using a little head math, half of the 2.4 hours labor (1.2 hours) would be needed to put the new part on as my car was on the lift with the old part off. So part gets there at 3pm, 1.2 hours later is 4:12pm. The service guy calls me at 3:49pm and says it's not their fault they are waiting on parts. I tell them I will be there at 4:30pm to get my car and I am told they will put it back together and it will be ready. 4:04pm the manager call to they can't do that, so I say the car needed to be delivered to my work which he agrees to. After asking when I will get it I am told they SHOULD have the part tonight and it SHOULD be done by 9am. They still need 2 MORE hours to finish the work!!! You know if you are going to up charge me $100 for a part. Drive the less than 5 miles round trip and pick up the part. I am writing this before my car is delivered so I don't even know if they will make that commitment. The sad part is I was told that people waiting at the shop will bump my time slot. Guess what, me driving around your rental isn't going to get me to buy a new car. read more

I called the body shop to ask about getting my storm damaged car repaired. I bought it at Marquardt's Toyota so I thought their branch could get the parts faster. I asked the person who answered how long it would take to get a back window for my Prius. She said, "I have no idea. We have been waiting two months for a back window oldie a Chevy Equinox." Not the response I wanted to hear a few days after our tornado. A few weeks later, I thought I'd give it another try and got someone who would not listen to me when I was telling him my insurance company did an estimate through a phone app but I missed a dent in the roof. I tried telling him what my insurance company said to have the body shop do and he insisted only my insurance company could do the estimate because it is their (insurance) policy. I called my agent for help and he said I didn't have to go to one of the insurance companies preferred shops so I took it to a body shop in Turtle Lake and they were so helpful. No stress like I was getting from the body shop at Marquardt's. They ordered my back window on Friday late afternoon, got it Monday and installed it Tuesday. I'd still be waiting for the window if I went through Marquardt's. read more

Worst car buying experience of my life. BAD BUSINESS. Purchased a car October 2nd, notified the dealership within three hours of purchase that something was wrong. They would not let me return the car. Long story short, in two months I have spent 20 hours on the road driving back and forth to Eau Claire from MPLS, trying to fix the vehicle, I have missed several days of work, was without my car for a total of three weeks, am thousands of dollars underwater on the car; all the while the dealership made money on my trade, my purchase, and MY warranty.. which paid the dealership to fix the broken car they sold me. I have worked in sales for over a decade so I know what good business is, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was continually passed off to another manager, then to service, back to sales, back to service, and the departments weren't communicating with each other. Huge loss to one person, when a dealership as large as Markquart could have made it right. BAD BUSINESS. read more

Results may vary. A word to the wise - avoid anybody named Steve. Upon my arrival I was treated as less than human. If you are younger (under 40) or a woman, be prepared to be talked down to or treated as someone with less than average intelligence - a pet peeve of mine is when someone who is not burdened with an overabundance of brains treats me like I'm stupid. I could go on and on about my experiences (yes, more than one occasion) but I'd prefer to offer some advice to those considering a vehicle purchase from Marquart Motors (used cars): First off, refuse to deal with Steve. Then go through the usual test drive stuff and business card and phone number exchange. DO NOT answer questions that are unrelated to the car, I'm offended when questions are asked about my job or other personal matters and you should be too. If you are serious about an offer do not make one but ask what they can do. If the person you are talking to refuses or insists you go first - WALK OUT OR DEMAND TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO CAN. There is no reason you should be talking to anyone who is not prepared to negotiate a price. And remember - they have your number. They can call you if they want to make a sale. Best of luck! Don't even bother. We had a problem with a GM vehicle, and were told by our normal repair guys that there are some codes that only a GM dealer can read. Our guys said that it was something electrical, but they weren't sure what as the problem was intermittent. After bringing it to Markquart, I was told that no, it had to be a physical part; the ignition switch. We replaced it, drove it back home, and when we needed to leave for work, we turned the key and.... nothing. Got the car towed back, where they actually ran diagnostics this time, and told me it was indeed an electrical issue. Thanks! I was told they had to order a part and it would be there next week... the day rolls around and no calls, no updates, NOTHING. I had to call and all I got was something about how they "ordered the wrong part...." and they have no idea when the part is coming in. Is it too much to ask for an update? I understand that there are issues sometimes with shipping, but I want an explanation. We paid 500$ for them to fix a possibly good part in the car, and now they're charging us another 300$ for the next repair. Granted, they aren't charging us for anything but the part on the second one, but I will expect that I get at least a part of the labor back on the first repair. Our car has been gone for a week with no end in sight. I will never purchase a GM vehicle as long as I live, so I never have to go back to a GM dealer as incompetent as this. read more

TOP OF THE LINE place to go! I was driving through town, heading back home to Traverse City, Michigan and realized that I was way over due for an oil change & tire rotation. It was about 10 am so I pulled in hoping they could at least do my oil Change. They got me right in! Not only did they change my oil, they rotated the tires, changed my air filter, washed and vacuumed my car...all within an hour!!! The waiting area was comfortable, they had coffee and numerous beverages. All of the staff that I came into contact with, were great! Cody in service department ROCKED! He handled everything like a rock star! Give that guy a raise! I would definitely go back! read more

I took my vehicle in for an appointment today, Thursday, June 13th at 9:45 a.m. for a problem with my radio and display in my Chevy Equinox. I made this appointment on Monday, June 10th. I also told them I'd be waiting there for it. I went in and they told me I should expect to be there 3-4 hours for them to diagnose and possibly fix it, if they could fix it. I sat there for almost 4 hours before they came and told me it hadn't even been looked at yet, because their electrical guy was on lunch, wasn't there yet, whichever it was. It finally got looked at around 2 p.m. and all they did was hook it up to the computer, then told me they "didn't have time" to take the radio out and check the wiring harness (and that they'd have to keep it overnight to fix it). Of course they "didn't have time", since they did nothing with it for 4 hours while I sat there. I couldn't leave it there because this dealer is an hour away from where I live. They never even offered me a loaner car. And there were two other customers there who had sat there all day as well. If I had been told when I made this appointment that it would take all day, I would have made arrangements so I could leave it overnight if necessary. The only reason I drove an hour away is because I wanted it fixed before our trip this weekend and all the local shops were booked till next week. So I paid them $90 to waste my entire day and have them barely do anything. And they told me to call the dealer who sold it to us, (who is under no obligation to fix it because it's a used vehicle and not under warranty) which is 2 hours away. That was their solution. On 5/15, a family member was driving my Highlander and the tire fell off and rolled down the street. Thankfully this happened in town and not 5 minutes before when she was on Highway 53 with a 70 mph speed limit where she could have been seriously hurt or killed or hurt someone else. The Highlander was serviced the week of 4/15 including a tire rotation. I left a message with Markquart that evening. By 12:30 the next day, I still hadn't received a call so I called them. They indicated video surveillance showed that the lug nuts were properly tightened. The bottom line was they claimed no accountability for the incident or for the repairs now needed. They also were surprised that no one had called me that morning as someone was supposed to have. I have had service done there for many years and although it's costly had trusted them. Not any more - I will never return to that dealership and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I'm just very disappointed that i have to find time in one of my days to come back because the light 'for the tire pressure' is on and needs to be turned off. Granted this probably isn't a big deal to you's but I live over by Menomonie, I picked you guys because you are a Cadillac dealer and I wanted the best to look/take care of my vehicle, but now it's way out of my way to drive back just to have that darn light turned off. because of course it comes on every time I start my vehicle. First, I was told that my oil change and tire rotation would only take about an hour. 1 hour and 45 minutes later we were finally out the door. Nobody even came to tell us it was taking longer than expected. I was not impressed. I also had to ask for my free wash rain check as it was too cold to wash my car. They told me one would be in my vehicle which it was not. The staff was nice enough however. The waiting area was also nice. I had my two children with me so it was nice to have a space for them to watch tv and play. I wouldn't be likely to return for service. The total came to $43 before my coupon for $20 off. I can get the same service in Eau Claire for much cheaper and quicker! Not impressed at all. read more

I brought in my Lexus to have them change wheel bearing on drivers side and when I returned they said the noise was on the other side so 600 dollars later they want to replace the passenger side. I brought to another shop and was told drivers side was never replaced and that neither wheel bearing was bad it was the brakes. Marquart said they would look at it again but it would cost me shop time at the least... read more
