I was looking for a used car for my Daughter, this was going to be her first car so it was a very…read morebig day. I found a car I was interested in, and drove to Ft Dodge, from Des Moines to look at it. At first, I was afraid this was going to be another "Big Dealership" experience, where the interaction was going to be impersonal and the negotiations drawn out and painful. Boy, was I surprised. We were met immediately at the front door by a Salesman, who immediately helped us even though we were looking at the cheapest cars on the lot. The vehicle we test drove, and subsequently purchased was clean, fully operational, and exactly what the advertisement showed. This is one of the few used car dealerships I have ever found with a "7 Day, if you don't like it, bring it back!" guarantee. That made me feel quite a bit better about the quality of the cars I was looking at on this lot. But it gets better. After the price negotiation, which took about 5 minutes, they met the price we both felt was very fair for the car. The Sales Manager came over, and very carefully explained all the paperwork to my daughter, what each form was, and what it meant. My daughters eyes really lit up, as it was her first real "business" experience. When they heard it was her first car, the Store Manager came over and introduced himself to us, was genuinely excited that we had chosen their dealership as her first purchasing experience. This was probably the best dealership experience I have had in my 25 years of purchasing cars, and the next time I am in the market for a Ford, Toyota, Lincoln or any used car, Fort Dodge Toyota will be at the top of my list. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is looking for New car, or a quality used car. I received no payment or incentive to write this review. IF I could leave less than one star I would. Salesman was good but sales manager is pretty…read moreincompetent and clueless. I purchased a nice used chevy silverado that had just been through shop and had pre sale inspection with no issue found, which I have a copy of. 1 month later it developed a tick which I cannot blame them for but I took it in and they come back with 10,000 in recommended repairs, said need brakes which was a lie as I had replaced as soon as I got truck, said I needed both air filters which was a lie as their own fast lane had just replaced them, said oil pan and oil cooler lines were leaking which was a lie as their fast lane oil service just changed oil and never mentioned it and it doesn't leak. Said trans was slipping and needed a new temp sensor which was an outright lie as I took to another dealer and had a service on trans done and they found no issue with trans. Kemna wanted 1000.00 to "fix" trans and other dealer serviced it for 300.00 saving me 700.00. Kemna said right front wheel bearing was bad which is a fabrication it has 2 thousands of an inch of play which is well under acceptable play per GM spec. The lifters did need replaced but they wanted to do basically an entire top end and hadn't even pulled the head to inspect. Keep in mind this was within a month of purchase and their own service department inspection for sale not finding anything. Yes it needed lifters but that cost 3400.00 and no other repairs needed and that can be verified by the inspection I had done 2 weeks after the lifters done at Fort Dodge Ford.
