I tried this place for a couple days on a free trial membership and both days there was literally like maybe two other people there, no including the people in the classes. They didn't have the kind of treadmills I'm used to using, they didn't have the ellipticals I'm used to using, they didn't even have the weight room accessories I prefer, which are usually pretty standard items. I spoke with the front desk guy, who was very nice, and when I asked what was up with this place he said that everything was donated by the previous owners who ran a diabetes clinic... so... it all makes sense then. lol Except the fact that student memberships are $15/month which is more expensive than a brand new, nice Planet Fitness or somewhere comparable. I don't even wanna know what a non-student membership is... I would NEVER pay that for what they offer! They do have classes... so... if you're strictly a class type person then it's def a good deal. DON'T like gyms with carpet. Gross. Tear that crap up and put in something less easy to infest with bacteria and other nasty micro organism. You're a FL Hosp gym... c'mon peeps.

Lots of equipment, all of it in great shape. Private dressing rooms and showers. The staff is very friendly. Best of all it's affordable. It's a positive feeling to be in a gym run by a hospital. We often think of the hospital as a place we go when things go wrong, instead of thinking of it as a place to stay healthy. When you're riding a machine looking out the window toward the hospital, you can't help thinking these thoughts. I'm a little surprised they don't have longer hours or stay open 24 hours even. Considering that hospital employees have odd hours. Maybe as it's popularity grows, they will consider lengthening the hours. They'll give you a pass to try it out for a week to see how you like it. They have classes and activities on site and daytime trips around the Central Florida area that begin there. Trip prices cost less than what would be paid on your own and include transportation, lunch, and entry/ticket for the event. Also, the people who work there are professional and thoughtful. If the event is full, you can be placed on a wait list, and someone will call if there is a cancellation. You are missing out on fun and interesting things to do if you fail to check out what is offered.

The space is still big, clean, and well-maintained, just like I remembered from my student days. You can check the schedule online and book a court or wing it and do so when you arrive. I've noticed a time or two when it looks like every court is blocked online and they were actually all open, so I'd recommend calling to verify if there are no spots. Day-of has always worked for me. The courts themselves are well-maintained and many are recently re-painted. Some of them have the practice nets separating the two courts so your balls stay close by (this is for newbs like me). The bathrooms are nearby and adequate. Nothing spectacular, but they work and have been clean when I've been there. Overall, great courts! I'd recommend.

What I love about this YMCA location is that there is ample equipment and I am able to get a productive workout complete. So far all machines that I have used are in great working condition. Other members too are able to get their workout done with ease unlike other locations where people are on their phone, taking up the machines and not actually using them efficiently. I have gone early morning around 7 AM and I have also gone in the evenings around 7/8 PM. I have not taken any classes yet, but will soon explore some. My only one complaint is that I have unable to use the sauna due to it being out of order. Hopefully, they're able to repair it soon. I have also heard and read in other reviews that it is frequently being repaired. Hopefully that gets resolved soon.

We arrived before everything was already set up, and they let my two young children help with scattering some of the eggs beforehand, which was a really kind and memorable touch. They were also great about sharing information on other programs, including a YMCA date night service where parents can drop off their kids while they enjoy dinner and a movie, which honestly sounds like something we might try in the future. The setup itself was a classic "scatter and go" format, with plastic eggs spread across a field and kids released at the same time. While exciting, it always makes things pretty chaotic, and our two-year-old ended up with candy like hard Jolly Ranchers and gum, which aren't really appropriate for toddlers and felt like a bit of a miss given the age range advertised for the section we were told to participate in. For future events, it would be great if the eggs in the under-3 section were filled only with toddler-appropriate items to help avoid potential choking hazards and make the experience more enjoyable, and less stressful, for parents of little ones. The bigger issue, though, was the "golden egg" system. The idea is great, special eggs with prizes inside, but in practice it created some awkward dynamics. We saw families staking out golden eggs ahead of time, including one instance where a parent encouraged their child to literally sit with their hand on an egg before the event started. I'm not here to judge anyone, but it did take away from the fairness and fun of the hunt. A simple fix would be to go more "Willy Wonka" style next time, hide the golden prize as a surprise inside regular eggs rather than making them visible targets. That would keep the excitement while making things feel a lot more equitable for all kids. Overall, a fun event with great staff and good energy, but a few thoughtful tweaks could make it much more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.

For the 6 year old party I chose the add on for the glow in the dark theme and the kids had a blast with the glow in the dark paint and bracelets and throwing the glowing balls around. The staff is always so helpful and attentive and kept the party running smoothly and on time, serving the pizza and cake. They also deliver the presents to your car and clean up the party room.
