They require $350 of training classes up front in addition to these fees and vet expenses. The dental info is not forth coming and could become a large liability since they reserve the right to remove the dog at their discretion for the life of the pet. They, also, will guarantee heart worm status. In addition, they do not hold a non-profit status. That says a great deal right there. One more insight, at the end of one of their handout about nutrition, they accuse vets for taking money for food recommendations. This is far from the truth, vets receive a discount from most pet food companies for personal pets, only.

They decided to back out gave him to another family Long My wife and I made the wonderful decision to want to grow our family this year. We have been looking for dogs for awhile. After much deliberation and research, we decided an Italian Greyhound would be an excellent fit for the many needs of our little family. We spent time searching for an Italian Greyhound we could rescue, even contacting breed-specific rescues. Even though we are ideal applicants, we were told that these rescues are not receiving the same influx of greyhounds they used to, and we would be waiting YEARS if we were even lucky enough to get one at all. Within 24 hours of this correspondence with this other rescue, they contacted us. They said they had information of an Italian greyhound coming to the state through a different rescue. We were so grateful for their help and felt this was a special, clandestine experience we were having to grow our family. We placed our applications in minutes, called to confirm our family's application, and after a week of waiting I received a call that we were selected. This meant the whole world to our small family and felt like a calling from the universe. Instead, I received radio silence the next day... and was then followed by an email that they would be instead giving the dog to another family , even after we confirmed that we were selected. Why? Because another family (the foster) apparently was more deserving. What a heartbreaking decision by this company. After we have done everything right... the long hours of research, the arduous application, all the hard things to just simply want to grow our family taken away. How can an organization choose to get people's hopes up and break their hearts by saying we "made it"... only to just take it away. It isn't right or fair.

I am, too. ;) Room 19 on 4/19, Patriots' Day. Ortensio as the male version of Ortensia, the hyacinth flower name from the Humane Colorado woman who is from Barcelona. Ortensia orchestrated my having first visit with Maxx. The couple who signed in before me as I was negotiating finding a shoe substitute (it took me awhile) kindly said "He's yours." How right they were. How right was Ortensia. And Miso for the soup I was to deliver but the friend was too sick so I went to the Humane Society instead. Six year old Maxx entered the room. After 5 days of yapping at visitors he quietly sat at my feet for a bit ....and then jumped into my arms and fell asleep as I patted him. With a calm reserve. Welcome home, Maxx! You are safe and well loved. Thank you Ortensia, Jason, the couple, and everyone at Humane Colorado. Maxx says hey and thank you!

We adopted our Boston Terrier, Stella, from the Buddy Center in Castle Rock back in Nov 2012 as a 11month old. She is now 13! We got so lucky as someone else was visiting her when we arrived. Back then you could put a wish list if a breed online and would be contacted if one came in to one of the shelters. Not anymore but we loved that feature. We found a stray Boston Terrier puppy a few years ago and took her to DDFL to see if so anyone lost a pet and since she bonded with us and our other Boston overnight, we asked them please please contact us if no one claims her, and a week or two later we were contacted and then had to adopt her. She is now called Beans and is about 4 years old. We sadly had to put down our 11 year old Bassethound a year prior to adopting our Beans, and took him to DDFL. The hardest thing ever to do, and he was my first pet. They were great with us, let us take a lot of time to say goodbyes. I only wish we were allowed back during the euthanasia, I really didn't like just sending him off like that. They do offer you ashes and paw prints after as well which was very nice.

My friends and family also cannot stop singing her praises, it really felt like she was as much our guest as anybody else which is a testament to her personality and her professionalism. I keep reliving the day and thinking about the people who made me feel special and she is definitely high on that list. She is incredibly appreciated, talented, and all around wonderful to have the opportunity to shoot with. Mallory does a wonderful job at making her clients feel comfortable and special. I love how colorful her portfolio is without overdoing it. She does a phenomenal job of getting candid shots, capturing the scenery, and documenting some of the most special moments in a person's life! I cannot recommend Mallory highly enough! On the day of the wedding, she eased my nerves and kept us laughing throughout the more stressful moments. Our family and friends continue to be awed at the images she captured. They will be pictures we treasure forever.
