Moved into our new beach home in November 2023 at the Vue in Satellite Beach. New construction homes will always have a project here and there, but overall we've been very pleased with our new home. Maronda has been very quick to resolve any and all issues and have been very pleasant to work with. 1 Star -- DO NOT BUILD WITH MARONDA HOMES We paid $800,000 for a brand-new home at 2681 Salerno Drive in Oakdale, PA. We moved in on February 27, 2026. What followed has been one of the most stressful, exhausting, and infuriating experiences of our lives. The short version: Do not build with Maronda Homes. Not at any price. Here is what we have lived through: 50+ Work Orders -- Most Still Unresolved We submitted over 50 documented warranty and repair claims. After months of follow-up, the vast majority remained open. Of the items that were "repaired," several were made worse by Maronda's own crew. The Construction Quality is Shockingly Poor A partial list of defects in a brand-new $800,000 home: a hole in a child's bedroom subfloor, master bathroom plumbing leaking onto the floor, wire closet racks that ripped away from walls under normal use, wood floors splintering within two months (covered up with black Sharpie markers by Maronda), the entire upstairs carpet needing replacement per Maronda's own flooring contractor, a front porch already chipping because cement was poured in five-degree weather without covering it, seven window screens bubbling, a crooked lamppost, improperly installed floor vents, an unpainted upstairs bathroom, cracking drywall throughout, soffit fascia bowing and falling off both the front and back of the house, a chip in the second-floor bathtub, a cracked wall above the garage door, and a fireplace installed with crooked stonework. The Electrical System Was Wired Incorrectly The smart switches (Deako) installed throughout the first floor do not work. Maronda's electrician visited multiple times and admitted he didn't know how to fix it. The Deako dealer came out and told us the house is simply not wired correctly. The air conditioning also did not work for six weeks after move-in because it was wired wrong. These are not minor cosmetic issues -- these are fundamental safety and function failures in a new home. They Lied About Ordered Parts Our project manager told us in February that a replacement stove hood vent had been ordered. We asked about it six to nine times over the following months. It was never delivered. When we contacted the appliance dealer directly, there was no record of the panel ever being ordered. We were lied to. Repair Attempts Made Things Worse When Maronda's crew attempted to fix a bedroom door, they destroyed the door frame, left visible gaps, and ruined the custom paint work we had done in that room. The door looked better before they touched it. When asked about dents in our oven, our project manager told us that is simply "how they have to do it" -- as if denting customers' appliances is an acceptable standard. No-Shows, Unanswered Emails, Zero Accountability Maronda confirmed a repair visit for May 8. My wife canceled her entire workday to be home. No one showed up. No call. No explanation. Emails went unanswered for weeks. Requests for documentation -- proof that parts were ordered, claim numbers for carpet padding, escrow contact information -- were ignored repeatedly. The online warranty portal did not function for us at all. The Project Manager Insulted My Wife It came to our attention that our project manager stated -- to a contractor working in our home -- that he would do "nothing to help that crazy blonde or their a**hole neighbor." This is the person Maronda assigned to oversee resolution of our 50+ work orders. We requested his removal. Our Neighbors Are Just as Miserable We spoke with many neighbors in our community. They are experiencing the same issues. Several gave up on Maronda entirely and hired their own contractors rather than continue dealing with Maronda's indifference. That is the reputation Maronda has built in their own neighborhood. The Backyard Was Graded Differently Than Our Neighbors' Neighbors were told they would receive 6 to 8 inches of topsoil. We were told 3 to 4. What we received is not even 3 inches. The contractor refused to properly level our backyard, stating it was because of where he lives relative to our property. That is not a reason any paying customer should ever have to accept. We Have Filed Complaints With: The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania, and additional regulatory agencies. We have hundreds of photographs, videos, and documented communications going back to our initial interactions with the Maronda team. We saved for years to buy a new home. We did everything right. We were patient, professional, and followed every process Maronda asked us to follow. What we received in return was shoddy construction, broken promises, ignored emails, a project manager who insulted my wife behind her back, and a company that clearly rushed our close date to meet quarterly numbers and then walked away from the consequences. We have asked very nicely if Maronda Homes would please move the AC unit that their AC installer put in front of our bedroom window. The salesman said they would move it but after weeks of waiting we called the Maronda Homes building inspector for our area. He told us Maronda would not move the AC unit. We talked with a Citrus County Home Inspector (Citus County is the county our home is located in) he told us that it is an egress violation. We told the Maronda Homes building inspector what the home inspector told us but he said it didn't matter they were not going to move the AC unit. It would appear that Maronda Homes doesn't care that their contractors do such shoddy work and so far they are getting away it. Please see attached pictures. read more

this is thus far the worse of the worse. I do not recommend this at all. it's quantity vs quality. all the houses are made out of cheap materials . the house makes a squeaky noise. The rails broke the first day we moved in . The HVAC wasn't working . They say there's warranty which is true but if is a brand new house why do you constantly have to call them for repairs daily. Had I knew I would never buy a house from Maronda Homes. The model home is perfect but that's not what you're getting , it's only for display to convince you to purchase a house. The model bone is build with quality , but everything you get from them is the cheapest of the cheapest but they have the audacity to charge you $300-500k for a ginger bread house . read more

Reps and construction supervisor are all liars full of empty promises, they are a scam. They build my house with all sort of mistakes the big one os a 5x5 concrete pad at my front door and forget the partial roof over it. They charge me extra to get my windows in the bathroom and laundry after the mistakenly leave it off the drawing that was submitted, they promises to add my partial roof since 10.28.22 it never happen the charge me for light in the house I never get. The long list goes on load of conflict of interest as there are close families working there mother in office as rep son in field covering her mistakes. read more

Oh the stories...... let's start off with they will threaten you with lawsuits when they fail to provide you with a house that is finished. They will shove a house down your throat and tell you that they will come back and fix all of the errors. Now errors we are talking holes in walls. Missing paint in places very obvious they don't care about the quality they provide. They are all a part of it from sales to the production team! They will promise the world and provide the lowest quality they can to make a penny. They do not care about the name they care about the $. The sale person will leave you in the wind once you sign. They will say there contractors put all the incorrect items in and then scramble day of closing to throw something together again because they say you will close in x day and the finance folks will threaten lawsuits. Works company I've ever done business with in the United States. Please be aware and be very careful if you decide to build with this company! read more

if you are looking for new construction, use any other builder but maronda. We broke ground on our home in March 2022 everything was going smoothly until June 15th. Construction has completely stopped and other homes in our neighborhood are flying up. Todays date is July 27th and our home has not been touched since the 15th of June. Terrible communication with the project manager, does not answer calls or text messages. Everytime we ask for an update, they respond with your home is completing interior painting. Their preferred lender is also AWFUL RMC Home Mortgage. I have been asking for an update on our loan for 2 weeks and no one has an answer for me. Also, the construction of our home also includes multiple broken windows, drywall stuck in the electrical outlets, drywall cracking, and crocked walls. Absolutely terrible company with which to do business. Three major water leaks in the first year that took constant follow up with the service department. The last one took almost 5 months to get close to done, and that was with me doing some of the small detail repairs myself. They would do one thing, then I wouldn't hear from anyone for weeks (sometimes months) at a time. Sometimes they wouldn't even bother to respond. It still doesn't look as good as it did when I closed, because they took even more short cuts doing the repairs. The service department is an absolute nightmare to deal with. They stop caring about anything, as soon as they get their money at closing. read more

We moved into our home on 3/26/21. To our shock our neighbors can be heard loudly through the wall snoring, among other things, every night since we've moved in. We've been unable to fall asleep or sleep through the night. There has to be a design or construction defect that is allowing these people to be heard as far away as our kids hallway bathroom. This is the 4th townhouse, the newest by decades, the most expensive by over $100k easy, and the first time I've been able to hear my neighbors as if they were spending the night in one of my extra bedrooms. I tried earplugs but they hurt my ears and I couldn't hear my alarm going off and woke up everyone in the house, and probably the neighbors, from having to have it set on max volume. We gone as far as sleeping on the couch to staying out of town with family just to be able to sleep through the night. I contacted Maronda Homes about this multiple times and their answer was that they weren't going to do anything. Just by luck I ran into a few other neighbors in the building next to me where Maronda decided to build the end unit flipped around putting the masters together wall to wall, like mine unbeknownst to me when I bought the place, and they can hear each other clear as day right through the wall. One of them shared with me that it was so bad that he ended up spending hundreds of dollars on dozens of ugly foam soundproofing panels on Amazon installed them on his wall and he can still hear them. I filled a report with the BBB and they responded that they would look into it. It's been 2 weeks and we haven't had one attempt from them to contact us. read more

Overall just a bad place, bad construction, terrible employees, messy contractors. I have a huge electrical problem and feel like I am an on my own. Really do your homework before deciding to buy from Maronda it may save your marriage, your bank account and your self respect. These Maronda are the absolute bottom of the bucket. read more

Its unfortunate that you can't give 0 stars. Our home building experience with Maronda has been the worst decision we have ever made, and we aren't alone. The contractors have no pridemin their craftsmanship and that is coupled with the worst customer service and "warranty" that is really unimaginable. They prey on ignorant buyers, and refuse to stand behind their work. Buyers beware, they use the cheapest possible materials, such as flexible ducting for HVAC, plastic water pipes (CPVC), and if you opt for a premium upgrade, prepare to be disappointed as only the price is truly premium. So if you are deciding them for your home, think twice because it they treat you like your stupid from the beginning..that's how they are going to treat you after you buy. The sales agent was so condescending that I was so appalled. While we love our home, we are very disappointed in Maronda Services. When we moved into our home we immediately notice how the backyard would flood. Whether it be a light rain, heavy rain, or snow melt, the back yard would flood. Water would stream down the hillside and into our yard. It would then form into a current a cascade down the back of the yard into the woods. It led to erosion issues. It chalked it up to lack of grass as the yard had yet to be seeded. However, there was little to no topsoil put down as most of the yard was filled with rocks. We have video to show just how bad the runoff into our yard was. Last spring the yard was seeded. It did not take very good for a variety of reasons. One reason was the lack of topsoil. Another reason was we were doing construction in the yard so it did not take in the areas in which we were working (that is on us, but we did not alter the grading of the yard). The other and main reason was the amount of water runoff that still flowed through our yard into the woods. It would literally create a pooling of water in some areas and rivers in others. It swept away much of the seed and worse it ate away at the land. We brought it to the attention of Maronda's Service foreman. He pretty much laid the blame on us and even went so far as to say that what we get for buying a house going down hill. They way he talked was if to say that to bad, your fault and he had other things to worry about. He could have cared less. We then spent several thousand dollars on new sod and seed. However, the problem remained. Again, our yard flooded. Again, we have video that we gladly shared with Maronda showing how the water flowed right into our yard and created flooding and again a river like effect. Our yard continues to erode away. Getting in touch with anyone from Maronda Services is truly very difficult and when they responded it was again the foreman blaming us. It is truly demeaning as I have found he has told others almost the same thing. He has told other neighbors that we should expect water issues when you live downhill. The fact is, there is a serious engineering flaw in the way Maronda has decided to handle water runoff at Foxwood Knolls/Aberdeen Court. It is truly a shame that the foreman will not take responsibility for this flaw. It is even worse the way he talks and treats the home owners. The attitude is we are to blame. No we are not to blame. We continue to try to make the house our home, but when you really can't enjoy the yard because it continuously takes on water like the Titanic...it is hard. The foreman just expects us to take it on the chin and except the fact that our yard will continue to flood. This is just awful. read more

Built the smallest Maronda home they built 16 years ago. Got a great home for an unbelievably low price. Value doubled in 12 years. 129 home plan. Love the plan. Quiet, safe, and we all gained 60% in the first five years. Who would buy a home in a rotten neighborhood anyway? Not the builders fault people are idiots. Look into them and remember at what price you are getting into the home. read more
