Let me start by saying if you have a house that wasn't last updated in the 70s, I give them a 4…read more That was not the case for us, and although attempts were made to correct what has happened, it ultimately shouldn't have gotten this far and should have been done right and I do not think we have a siding that will hold up as long as it says it should for these reasons. Now we'll just have to wait and see. Aesthetically it looks great. Neighbors love the look and right now that is all we have to hold on too and maybe it will last a few years. If fixes need to happen it will be from someone else. The problem started with the sheathing in our house which is brittle and was covered by the original metal siding from the 70's. When that came down we didn't see what was underneath, because it was quickly covered with house wrap. It wasn't until we went to the attic where a bunch of fiberboard was blown out from nails that we could see the issue. In our contract it says if that needs to be replaced we will pay x amount more for that, but they chose to not replace and put our new fiber cement siding over it. I do understand that some people may skip that step but we should have been made aware and given the choice. When the install was said to be done the caulking used was the same on 2 1/2 sides and 1 1/2 was different. They did fix that. Windows were missed multiple times and I had to go around to each one and have them address them after 2 visits. One of the gable vents was leaking so they did have to come back and correct that also. James Hardie did come out at our request initiated by Cousins and says that install is correct for their product and Cousins was there also and they did recommend a few touch ups which I think were done today. Calvin was responsive with these issues, but I think each step especially on the older homes needs closer evaluation to prevent this in the future. Hope ours was someone else's advantage and it gets addressed.

I hired Welte to replace an EPDM rubber roof at a property in the city. I visited to inspect the…read morework the day after they finished, and found that they had installed the new rubber without having properly cleared the deck of rocks and other debris. There are approximately a dozen locations where something pointy (assumption is a small stone) is poking up through the EPDM, causing the rubber to stretch. I complained, asked them to make it right, and was told that this wasn't a problem, the stone would sink into the insulation. They would not do anything. This was a bullshit response at the time, and over the coming months and now three years, the same pointy objects are there. Another roofing company was performing work on my neighbor's roof a year after mine was replaced by Welte, they asked and were given permission to access the neighbor's roof via my roof. They called me to warn me about the rocks, and cut out and repaired the worst area, for free. They also showed me that some of the termination bar was unattached to the home. You can do better than Welte Roofing.

We went with this roofing company since it was recommended to us. We got on the waitlist for the work to be done in July and waited probably about 8 weeks for them to actually come out. Basically, If you are looking for work done ASAP, it will not happen with them. I didn't like the waitlist process either. We called after we were quoted between 4-6 weeks about the 5 week point and they told us there's no "queue" and that they would basically get to us when they could. Didn't make sense. But again, this wasn't an immediately need and we just blindly trusted they'd get to us. I think what happens is they somewhere write your name down and what work you need done and send out people depending on how rainy it's been and what work you're having done. Basically they work for themselves and their schedule and you just sit and wait. Must be nice to have a big business that's so in demand. I got a call at week 8 asking if they could come out the next day. Thankfully it worked out I was free and I didn't even need to be there if I couldn't. I'm glad I was there because the workers basically walked me around my house and told me some other things we should maintenance at some point. I'm sure they were selling us, but it's nice to know where our problem areas are too. They also took a video up on the roof of all the work they did, just so you can actually see they did work, which I appreciate. Our quote actually came in way lower than we expected, so that was a nice surprise. I'd use them again for non-emergency situations because they were pretty affordable.

Legacy Remodeling is absolutely hands down the best in the business! I have had constant problems with an addition i had put on my house. I have had 3 different contractors "try to fix" the leaking problem. Every year I would still have water leaking into my patio room. I was convinced that no one would ever be able to fix it. My brother told me about Legacy and I called them. The owner came out to my house and looked at it and knew immediately what the problem was. He had one of his designers come out to look at it and they came up with a plan to solve the problem. We discussed the plans and they sent me a detailed email ( i prefer emails) detailing all the materials and work that would be done and the price to review and then Ken came over and we signed the contract. They started work on it the beginning of the next week. The contract was clear..everything was specified and outlined. It included a guarantee that it would not leak or they would fix it free of charge. There were some other challenges they had to problem solve to get the gutters to fit since i had a sunsetter awning that would not fit with the new construction they did to fix the leakage. But their team of experts came up with an ingenious plan and now I have a dry patio room and my awning too! I was so impressed and excited when it rained hard and my room was dry!! I have never seen a group of workers that work so hard and are so meticulous and take such pride in their work. They worked from early morning until it 5 or after and cleaned up every time then left for the day. They always made sure the gates were closed so my dog couldn't get out. Their attention to details and the pleasant and accommodating workers and bosses and owner were so easy to work with. If you had any concerns they would answer your calls immediately and get back to you asap if they were with another customer. I have never had such a pleasant experience dealing with a contractor! Since they did such a great job on the patio room I had them do some other projects too and they turned out beautifully! I would highly recommend this company for any job you have. We had a leak from our master bathroom down into the ceiling on the floor below. With a one piece older shower unit, we needed to gut the shower before fixing the leak. Legacy Remodeling offered beautiful Kohler Luxstone products and we had numerous choices. As a result of the great choices, we ended up refreshing 2 bath areas, one with a stall shower and the other with a tub and surrounding walls. Everyone at LR was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and meticulous. When we hit some snags due to the original setup of plumbing in our house, the expert and thoughtful crew (Jud and Kiefer) and plumbers, along with management (Dan and Diane) found wonderful solutions to solve every issue. We were looking to replace our wooden shake roof as it was deteriorating after only 17 years. We liked the look of shakes but not the lack of durability. I researched metal shakes on the internet and found that Classic was one of the best rated products. Legacy Remodeling was the sole supplier in our area. Their saleman came out with a quote and spent nearly four hours explaining every detail about the product and the installation process. We opted for aliminum shakes with a lifetime plus guarantee. It was expensive, but it sounded like a top quality roof. Legacy did a good job of installation, and the roof looks great. Everyone in the neighborhood has complimented the look of our new roof. We had 4 different companies come and do quotes for us. Legacy & Antoine Frazier were the best choice for us. He was very easy to work with. Did measurements, went over all the options on the windows, and answered our questions. A week later Bob called and rechecked measurement of windows. Once windows were in, made one call and our installation days were set up. We had 13 windows, a bay window ,and a sliding glass door installed in 2-1/2 days ( it rained for 2-1/2 days). Bob and his team arrived on time - setup their saws, etc. quickly...I have 7 windows done (6 sliders and 1 two slider) with in no time the guys had the old one out and were cleaning up the old "Stuff". New windows were completely installed before the moved to the next one...cleaning up as they went along. The last one was a double slider which was replacing one that was a double side casement - cemented in. Bob's team had the old one out (only broke one plane) in no time - cleaned up. Built a wooden frame - set the window - foamed it...framed it ...and cleaned up.....Did I mention that they cleaned up before moving on to the next phase... My experience started when Adam Levine came to my house and was very patient and professional in answering all questions and pointing out various options. He continued to do so through numerous emails and scheduling the installation. Bob and the other guy from Legacy had some trouble with our windows not fitting right (not due to the windows but due to out crazy crooked house) and they spent extra time to make sure everything fit perfectly. The windows look great and function perfectly. We had tons of rain after they were installed and no leaks or anything. There's no painting needed by the windows or anything else that needs done. While most did not open due to being 55 years old, the frames themselves were in good shape. I started my window search with Renewal By Andersen, Pella, and then I happened to stop into a little shop on Route 19 named Blyth & Shearn. I met with one of the business partners, Gregg. Gregg proceeded to show me the offerings which Andersen, Loewen, etc have to offer. Gregg scheduled me promptly to come out and measure our window openings. Once he measured them, he promptly sent me a quote for a superior Andersen product, the E-Series Of windows. There was some back and forth about what we particularly wanted, painted trim, unpainted trim, blinds in the windows, etc. Once we established what we truly wanted, took a look at the pricing, we decided this is who we need to be dealing with so we pulled the trigger and put down the deposit. It took roughly 6 weeks for the windows to be manufactured. We had the windows installed the week of April 6, 2020, and for our 7 windows we had installed it took roughly 3 days of work. When it comes to a large purchase such as this, here are the things people need to consider, and are even more important than pricing alone. Service. This is where Gregg and Bob's business shines. Their installers are true professionals and artisans at what they do. Installing windows, cutting trim, bending brake metal is a true craft. They are craftsmen and they excel. The brake metal work on the outside of the windows is beautiful and in many ways it is seamless. They use superior materials, superior caulking, foam around the openings and use high quality woods of your choosing on the interior window casings. Blyth & Shearn's team leaves your home in excellent shape, they are accommodating, work diligently and complete the task with confidence. Danny, Quinn and Roger, thank you for the work you did. If you require windows for your home, I highly suggest giving Blyth & Shearn a call, because you will be buying a product that last, that installed correctly, and is backed up by owners that genuinely are concerned that the product is installed correctly, to your specification, in a timely fashion at a great price.
