Nothing in life is free -- and the things that are, usually cost more in the long run -- but McClellands did a good, solid job and for a reasonable price. Happy to recommend them. The friend who recommended them to me, did me a good turn. He's still happy with the roof they did for him a couple years ago. I'm happy with the roof they did for me 4 months ago (end of March, 2025). Vince and Nate, the guys who did the quote, did a good job of patiently answering all my questions and helping adjust the quote to meet my needs. They also warned me (and included estimates) for some of the unknowns -- when they got the roof off, they found some of the sheathing needed to be replaced. You don't really know what you're going to find until you tear off the old roof. It was still quite reasonable in the end, and I have the peace of mind of knowing that it was done right. There were also a few other details that Devin and his guys spotted and addressed, proactively, without additional charges. Devin, the McClelland's guy at the house when the work was actually done, was happy to answer my questions, and really knew his stuff. Juan and his crew, the McClelland's trade partners (think subcontractor but better -- Devin said they work exclusively with McClellands) worked hard, and took a lot of care to not create nor leave behind a mess. I searched online first, and my goal was to find affordable roofers in my area. There were many positive reviews for McClellands Roofing, so I made an appointment for a free estimate with Carol, and she confirmed the day before. Nathan arrived on time and thoroughly described my gutter repair issue. He took pictures of the problem to show me exactly what was wrong and gave me a detailed written estimate, describing every aspect of the job. He even replaced my chimney cap while he was up there! He was extremely friendly and helpful. :D We opted to replace the gutter guards with higher-quality ones, as Nathan suggested. They are also doing the gutter cleaning and are making sure the gutters are sloped properly. I could easily see how the original ones failed and why they failed by the pictures he took. They will be back to do the work in a few weeks, and the price was less than what I expected! I could not be more pleased with the service provided by McClellands Contracting and Roofing. Our 100-year-old Regent Square home has terra cotta roofing tiles. When a storm caused a large tree to fall and severely damage our roof, McClellands was able to find roofing tiles of the same design and custom fit them. They also replaced damaged box gutters and soffits panels. McClellands is tops in communication. Whenever I called our McClellands lead repairman, he either always answered my call or quickly returned it. I am so glad I selected McClellands Contracting & Roofing to do my roofing project. Everyone I worked with on my project was friendly and responsive. This company did exactly what they said they were going to do, exactly when they said they were going to do it. They started the job when they promised. Professional and easy from start to finish! Brooke the salesperson is very good at her job and answers all questions and communicates effectively. My roof was leaking bad so they did their best to schedule me asap. clear cut pricing from the start no low ball offeres no hidden costs, very reasonable prices and quality of work! The crew effectively finished the roof in one day even though they had to replace more plywood than anticipated. I contracted with McClellands Contracting and Roofing LLC to repair a section of gutter and roof. After they fixed that section I was still experiencing a minor leak. They had also told me I was missing some slate on the roof. I contracted with them to replace the slates that were missing and had the hope it would fix the leak. After the scheduled repairs were made, I still had the problem with a leak. They continued to work until the issue was repaired. FOR NO Additional PAYMENT. I got in touch with McClellands through Yelp, and they came quickly to inspect where the leak was and gave me a reasonable estimate on the cost to fix it. The job was done quickly, the new roof looks great, and the leak is no longer an issue.
