I submitted a dress for dry cleaning on Tuesday afternoon. The dress was new (only a couple of…read moreweeks old) and I was told I could pick it up on Wednesday afternoon. At 5:45pm on Wednesday - I went to pick it up and told the dress was not ready and to come back the next day. Friday morning I went to pick the dress up. It now has significant staining on the back. Similar to the kind of stains you would see if you placed an iron on fabric for too long. A crusty, burnt stain. We were told "we were unable to get this stain out and we want to keep the dress another day to try again". So basically - they ruined my dress and then lied about it, acting like it was a pre-existing stain (it 100% was not there when I submitted the dress to them). I will never use them again.

I prefer these older styled laundromats as I much prefer being able to use my own washing…read moredetergent. I'm allergic to the heavy scented ones that are part of automatic service in the newer ones. The owner is helpful and friendly.

This place is getting 5 star purely on its excellent service. We've been getting our laundry done…read morethere for while now. We wash our own clothes and get them to iron, because let's face it, who wants to iron a business shirt. We usually get a basket of stuff for about $20. We often get dry cleaning and they always do an excellent job. You can also go there to do your washing and wait or have them do it. I have also asked a few times for some sewing work which is pretty cheap. The best part of this place is the owner Jack, who is seriously the nicest guy. His wife Jane is lovely too. I doubt they ever sleep, because they are always there and always busy and I think they only close on Christmas - they need a break!! Always polite, ready for a good chat and always remember you, even when you forget the ticket ;)

Finally I did something I have considered for years and I took three pairs of Jeans and had them altered. Rather than the expensive route of going to a tailor, I went to a Gina's Dry Cleaning & Laundry in Kingsford as they offer a clothing alteration service and I had them shorten the length of my Jeans. I am really pleased with the result, I was uncertain whether they would look the same, but they have done a good job of matching the original cut, I will be taking more clothes there.

Having to do your own laundry is one of the hardest things about living away from home. Just ask…read moreany student and they will tell you they struggled with that more then any exam they faced. Solution is getting someone to do it all for you. This laundromat does a range of services such as altering, dry cleaning and of course the classic washing. They do a laundry bag wash and with that all those hours of slogging up and down stairs to the washer and dryer is no longer your concern. They charge roughly $25-$30 for about 10 days worth of washing. I go to the gym daily and work clothes each day so combined I would have a sizeable amount to be washed. They offer same day service and hours are pretty long 7am-7pm most days so it's possible to drop before and collect after work. Been using them for about 6 months and have had very few issues with them regarding quality. On one occasion a t-shirt or two was damaged but partly because they aren't meant for dryer but that's my fault. Convenient and affordable would have no problem recommending them to a friend.
