Considering the stunning weather I was surprised to find easy parking and plenty of shady spots to spread out your rug or camp chairs. The big trees are beautiful. Being so close to homes and the general claustrophobic sense I get visiting Sydney, I wasn't expecting the park to be as large as it was. In my phone calls previously with them, I did not find they were friendly so I took my car elsewhere for service (still under warranty and all). I had issues with engine symbol coming up as well as car doing a scary thing on the road (not even 1 year after buying a brand new c200). My mechanic who onkly specialises in MB said it's classified as urgent so I should be able to take it straightaway. I'm an avid BMW driver so I always used to get my BMWs serviced at rushcutters bay - and they are extremely helpful and amazing people there. I used to take the car with no notice if something urgent came up on the dashboard with no problem. This lady at MB Alexandria was plain rude and hostile. I could not believe how she was talking to me and just that icy tone got me to finally confront her and I said -she should not talk over me if I'm trying to explain the situation -she had no sense of customer service. She was offended (but she was already offended when she picked up the phone anyway) but refused to put me thorugh to her manager. I informed her that if she gives me advice and something happens to me on the road because they won't take the car in straightaway then MB could possibly be negligent for what happens to me. As a lawyer and former investigator I was probably doing her a favour. The car was indeed not driving very well, like something was wrong, but it was probably something I could control. Anyway I didn't want to risk it and was SIMPLY ASKING IF IT WOULD BE OK TO DRIVE UNTIL 5 DAYS LATER WHEN THEY WOULD TAKE THE CAR IN FINALY!!! :( I didn't have a chance to even ask for an "expert" as she talked over me and hung up on me. I know it sounds whimperish but I did get quite upset after that hostile conversation and cried a bit. So MB vs BMW - I'd go back to BMW any day. But then I got onto Tynan in Sylvania and they were happy to take the car in the next day AFTER ASKING IF THE CAR WAS OK FOR ME TO DRIVE NOW. So yeh I'm dropping MB Alexandria. One employee can do that unfortunately.

The NRMA in Prestons passed us onto the Royal Smash Repairs to get our car fixed after we had a little collision last weekend when it was raining. An NRMA recommendation generally indicates that the repairer that has good ethics (IE. you wont get screwed over and end up having to pay more than what you should, or fixing something that wasn't broke to begin with) and great customer service. Today my boyfriend dropped our car here to be fixed, and the place was full of cars, so this place obviously gets a lot of business. The wait to get the car back after repairs are complete is going to be longer than we expected (today is Friday and he said it wont be ready until Thursday - considering all he needs to do is repair the front right hand panel near the headlight, I thought that was a bit long) however my boyfriend assured me that the man was very straight and reliable, that he had a lot of work he needed to prioritize and that he would do the best job on his car, and that he'd rather have someone who looked after it properly and took a little longer than someone who was just willing to provide a quick fix, with the sacrifice of thoroughness. When dealing with the health and well being of your car, peace of mind is very important to reassure you that you're making the right decisions about it. And at the end of the day, Bob from Royal Smash Repairs can give you that peace of mind regarding your car's repairs.
