Her facilities are impeccably clean and the puppies and their parents are beyond well cared for. I placed my down payment last summer and it turned out to be bad timing for our family. Michelle let me know it was non refundable but that I could get POL for a future litter (we picked the following summer '22 -June 28th). When the time came for us to bring home our new puppy, I tried to make sure that the arrangements were still as discussed, she confirmed and we decided we would pick up our pup the very day he turned 6 weeks old. When we arrived she only allowed us to see one puppy claiming he was the biggest and best of all. We didn't get a chance to meet his parents or any other pups as she had informed us they all went home that morning. Our puppy, the "pick of the litter" came with acne on the top of his head and required (and still requires) medication. She sent us home with a foam from the vet but I was not impressed with the transaction method. My understanding of what POL means is that we get to meet every pup from the litter and pick which one seems the best fit for our home... this was the farthest from the case. read more

This breeder is an unlicensed puppy mill according to the laws in Texas located in Hempstead, TX that will sell underage puppies that are malnourished. I personally had a contract to buy a specific dog born on October 2, 2017, and I would be able to pick him up once he was 8 weeks old. The dog I was given was only 4 weeks old as of last Saturday and is now only 5 weeks old. This family of breeders is in violation of multiple state regulations. They are selling dogs under two kennel names, Lonestar Danes and Marquis Danes but out of one address. I have proof the the dog is underage from two licensed veterinarians as well as proof the dog we received was NOT the dog we paid for. I am more than happy to send copies of the fraudulent contract and AKC registration papers, copies of all text message correspondence which proves we were intentionally lied to and deceived. read more

Warning to all perspective buyers! I purchased a 16 week old beautiful Great Dane male pup from Kayla Marie Fortune, owner of Marquis Danes on Saturday, March 25 2017 for $1500. She told me that the puppy was house trained and kennel trained. After 2 days of constant pooping and peeing in the house and in his kennel, I realized that he was not, in fact, house trained or kennel trained. My family was not equipped to potty train a puppy, so I called Kayla and told her that we would need to find him a new home. I suggested that she refund $1000 and keep the other $500 for her time and effort. She agreed and even hand-wrote and signed a contract staitnig this. She informed me that she only had $300 of the money left and would give me the remaining $700 wihin a few days as soon as she found a new home for the puppy. I gave her the puppy back, she gave me the $300 cash along with the signed contract. She found a new home for the puppy and refused to give me the remaining $700 (although she admits that she recieved payment from the new owner). When I asked why, she told me that the puppy now has parvovirus and that it could only have been conracted from my home (although parvovirus is only contracted by direct contact with other animals or by other animal's feces and the puppy was not exposed to either during the 72 hours that he was in my posession). Proceed with caution witih this breeder. Her pups are beautiful, but she has proven to be very dishonest. read more
