Ok, I tried my other card. "Ooops " again. Customer service claimed that PetValu declined my order out of caution.(???) It was the most weird experience with online shopping I've ever had. Everything is OK with my credit cards, I even called my credit card companies to make it absolutely sure. Basically I was refused online shopping service. WHY?! I have issues with mobility so online shopping works for me better (usually). Why PetValu should exercise caution to my orders? If the company has problems with processing online orders - fix these problems. That's how you lose your business and your customers to amazon. You can't support Canadian business if they resist so hard.

They don't push for needless tests, which is a refreshing change from our previous vet. Instead, you are given relevant, non biased information, and you are allowed to decide for yourself. The office had undergone a renovation more than a year ago, so it's a lot fresher and brighter. Staff are friendly. Jars of treats in the treatment room and at the front desk. Highly recommend this vet.

Thankfully, Castledowns Animal Hospital answered our call for help and had us in the clinic within an hour. There was lots of parking and when we walked in the staff were pleasant. The waiting room is a bit small so be aware if you have reactive animals. When we saw the vet, Robyn, she quickly diagnosed the issue and gave us 3 options. They do encourage you to go with their gold standard packages which are very pricey as it involves tons of testing that isn't necessary to resolving the issue at hand. In a state of panic, it's hard to think rationally but don't feel pressured. The gold package they had offered us involved keeping our fur baby at the clinic for 2-3 nights even though no one would be there as they don't have overnight staff coverage. They did mention there was a big risk that if something bad happens overnight, no one would be there to help. Because of this, we declined the overnight stay and took care of our fur baby at home. Overall my fur baby is at home and doing better. The bill was fairly steep (I think around $1200) so if you have the luxury of time, I would shop around the cheaper options. The vet prescribed a special diet which is over $100 per month. They did not offer suggestions on alternative brands which may be more affordable. Furthermore, we recently received a card from the vet which was signed by all the staff. It was really thoughtful. The staff were patient, kind and understanding during this overwhelming time and we could not be more grateful for their support.

Absolutely appalling treatment from a long-trusted clinic…read more I've been a loyal client at Oxford Vet for over 7 years and never imagined I'd be writing a review like this. We brought our dog in for a laceration repair, paid nearly $1000 for the procedure, and followed their instructions to the letter--including returning a week later for stitch removal. Within an hour of leaving the clinic, the wound reopened. We brought our dog back immediately, worried and looking for help. Instead, the male veterinarian came out with an aggressive, condescending attitude. He instantly blamed us, accusing us of not properly monitoring our dog and insisting we must have let him lick the wound--despite the fact that our dog had his cone on at all times and was closely supervised. When I expressed concern, he snapped that he "won't tolerate me taking it personally" and told me I was welcome to take my dog elsewhere. This was after I had just paid him $1000 and my dog was now in pain again. Only after insisting he take responsibility did he agree to re-sedate and re-stitch the wound--then told me I would not be welcome back to the clinic. There was no empathy, no reassurance--only arrogance, defensiveness, and blatant disrespect. He even said I was "making a big deal out of nothing," as if my pet's ongoing pain was irrelevant. His tone was hostile, and his body language was confrontational, as though daring me to challenge his "20 years of experience." Sadly, after this experience, I read other reviews and realized I'm far from the first person to be treated this way. Multiple customers have reported this same vet's aggressive, rude behavior and complete lack of bedside manner. The front desk staff at Oxford have always been wonderful, and my past experiences were positive--but this incident was deeply upsetting and unacceptable. I won't ever return, and I strongly urge others to read the negative reviews and think twice before trusting this clinic with their beloved pets

We usually go to the coin operated dog wash at the SPCA but thought we would try this place out as the SPCA coin op is time limited and is often lined up. Pet Valu has a really nice setup. The tub bottom is about the height of a kitchen table so the work height is perfect. There are steps up into the tub which is great as Luke the Labradoodle is not always the most cooperative bather. The staff are very friendly and provided us with two large towels. There was also an assortment of combs, brushes, shampoo and conditioners. We brought our own shampoo and conditioner which was not an issue. $10.50 was the flat rate for a session with no time restrictions. This was a really relaxed approach. There is a heated blower for drying that works great. Overall a really good experience, clean, convenient, cheap and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend this dog was to anyone especially if you have a larger dog or do not like battling their pooch on their knees in their tub at home.
