Horrible job on clear bra and window tint. Very dirty shop. Not clean enough to be doing any paint or vinyl work.

Invoice #236134 | Service Date 07/24/25…read more Why I came in Loss of power and a check-engine light on my 2013 Peterbilt 388. Work performed by Dakota Diesel 1. Replaced a melted intake-manifold pressure (MAP) sensor - part $94.51 and 1.20 h labour $252.00 The actuator kit plus related labor and fees, bringing the total invoice to $3,325.64 Email from the buyer's mechanic (27 July 2025): "I don't think it ever was the actuator. About 30 miles south we could only build 10 lbs of boost, the check-engine light came on and it made a bad hissing noise. We limped it back to Bismarck. I looked at it this morning and the exhaust elbow from the EGR cooler to the exhaust manifold was cracked. I replaced that ($830) -- runs like a dream!" -- Monty Hoffman, SiteWorx Excavation & Development Co., 701-425-1859 Why I'm disappointed The cracked elbow explains the hiss, low boost, and the melted sensor. A quick visual or smoke test would likely have revealed the crack before replacing the actuator. I accept full responsibility for the MAP sensor part and the labour to install it. Charges I consider fair * MAP sensor part    $ 94.51 * MAP sensor labour   $ 252.00 * Sensor's share of sales-tax ( $7.57) * Environmental fee   $ 75.00 Subtotal I'm willing to pay: $429.08 Respectful refund request Total paid: $3,325.64 Minus fair subtotal: $429.08 Refund requested: $2,896.56 My hope That Dakota Diesel reviews these facts and refunds the actuator-related charges. I will gladly update or remove this review once the adjustment is processed. Advice to other operators Before approving expensive turbo work, insist on a thorough exhaust-leak check and ask to see any failed parts. It could save you several thousand dollars.

Usually for diesel issues I have to wait a day. They would not take a charge for install, which I could not do on the road . Props to Paul and the crew
