Divide and conquer: Clayton handled the flush...no problems there, while Kyle tackled the water hammer, which speculated might be the result of a faucet cartridge I improperly installed. But he checked everything...water feed under the sink and even pipes in the basement (which he snugged since it looked like one of them was loose). Then it was back to the sink and the faucet cartridge. The good news? I hadn't muffed the installation! I just looked like the part was a lemon. Better news? He had the part on hand. Even better news? Both projects cost less than expected, even without using a discount card I had forgotten was taped to the fridge. In. Out. Done and done, but not before they did a thorough check for leaks. They were followed by Josh who talked me through the wide variety of furnaces they offer. Not a cheap investment, and he knows it, which is why he patiently went through all the options. I now know more about what goes into heating a home thanks to him. The tech did not tell me that the foam on the A/C was totally rotted thru, he removed the vent shield from the side of the heater making it less efficient. He did not notice that a coupling was the wrong type and could have easily leaked. He also didn't have the right shut off fitting and told me to keep the one he did have at a 45' angle, not 90' or 0' as is standard in shutoffs. I would never use them again.

Unless you want a poorly-installed system that keeps breaking down and leaves you without cool air on the hottest days of summer, don't use CRS Mechanical. My Daikin is 5 years old and I have had them out every year since it was installed. The Daikin was replacing an old Sanyo AC that ran for 20 years without needing repair. CRS has come out multiple times, charging me hundreds of dollars for each visit, but my unit STILL is not functioning properly. CRS has not followed up on commitments to complete the promised work (e.g., coming back to confirm leaks, etc.) CRS was a BAD choice! (I live in Joliet, but I'm posting on my son's Yelp account.)

Our furnace wasn't working, so my husband called Aries and they came out right away. The guy who came (sorry, I can't remember his name!) was super nice and quickly figured out what was wrong. It turned out that we needed a specific part replaced, which meant he needed to travel all the way to Downer's Grove to get it and he was more than happy to do so. He promptly left and returned maybe 1-1 1/2 hours later with the part, got things squared away and viola! Good to go! We had just an easy, flawless experience with Aries, and their pricing was reasonable and right on with what we expected. Even more, the gentleman who did the repair was such a nice guy! Our Sons in Oswego and Sandwich. They even came on a Sunday when our air quit working and show in 2 hours to fix a leak and fill with Freon. The cost was very affordable. Called them less than a month ago to have them come and fix my AC. It was running but not blowing…read moreout cold air throughout the vents of the house. They came out and were here for 30 minutes or less, said I needed more freon so he put in 11 oz of that and charged me $58.50 for that, then said the air filters also needed cleaning so he used my hose to spray them out which he charged me $45.00 to use my hose and my water to clean out some air filters? That wasn't even the worst part. Their flat rate of "labor" costs for their time is $98.00 whether they're there for five minutes or an hour. In total the bill was 201.50 for 11 oz of freon, and something I could of done myself. Moral of the story: I called them back again today (three weeks after the first time the AC broke down) for the same issue, to have them come and fix it since they clearly didn't the first time, and they told me it would be $185.00 plus whatever the parts will cost to fix it. P.s. Don't even think about calling on the weekend because their labor rate is $185 non-negotiable and that's before the cost of "parts". Please, please do not waste your time or money. They will simply do the bare minimum so that they have to come back within a few short weeks, and you have to spend another $100+ for their precious time. P.s.s Their customer service is terrible, was quite upset they quoted me so high after not fixing it the first time and the lady just told me "call someone else then". Fine by me, I'd rather give my money to some other business than a greedy one.
