Due to the demolition required to build the stairs, we asked if they could begin that process when we left for an 8 day vacation in January. He agreed and after meetings to tighten up the design and engage his plumber we trusted our home to Gage and his team and left. Before we left he told us he not only planned on building the stairs but basically completing the entire job! While we were gone we got consistent updates, pictures and videos of the progress. When we got back the job was 99% complete. He gave us time to figure out if there were any adjustments to make and took care of our requests. They do good work on an aggressive schedule. I have to agree with Diane G.'s review. He has lots of enthusiasm, saying he has guys to do this and that, and when you try to get it done, it's a no response. With the storms this last winter season, we still ended up with water coming in, even after a new roof, and when I called him to come and look at it, he emphatically REPEATEDLY PROMISED to get back to me, quoting, "I can't tell you when, but I WILL get back to you." Well, it's 6 months later and not a peep. Thankfully I got someone else to do the job.

Part of his crew showed up on the first dry day to install the skylights, and the next day a crew of about 18 people started at 7 am and were done by 5 o'clock. He is authentically old school--follows through, responds to customers' needs, and puts a bit of himself in every project. On our project, that included coming out in an unexpected and ice cold downpour to dig a ditch for drainage within a half hour of calling him. He came by almost daily to check on the work and once had the crew take down a days work and start over--not because it was wrong. Just because it could be even better. Seriously, who does that?! It also meant working covertly with a family member to find the perfect craftsman style front door as my Christmas gift and scheduling around me so it would be a surprise. He even came up with a door handle that a previous client had custom ordered and then decided against--just because he thought it would look really nice.
