My Mom was sent here for almost 3 months to gain her strength back after having a minor Heart…read moreAttack and not being able to stand or walk. The place was Clean and the staff was friendly. My complaints are the Food, definitely unpleasant and totally unappealing. They say it's Kosher but everything looked like it came from a can and had no taste ( Yes, I even tried it ). The Staff did their best to help my Mom with her rehabilitation and daily Hygiene but there was definitely not enough of them! NO Doctor ever came to personally visit my Mom the entire time she was there, instead it was left to a RN or if needed a PA when requested. My Mom was constantly suffering from severe UTI infections which was not always diagnosed. Instead they said she suffers from depression, possible dementia, delusion! The Social Worker at Anchor Care never calls back, the Staff never calls you back, including the PA , you definitely need to be an Advocate for your loved one there! Unfortunately, my Mom was suffering from mini Strokes not dementia or delirium and after talking to her for 30 mins on her Cell Phone and hanging ip with her, she was found slumped over in her Wheelchair having suffered from an Acute Stroke! We have NO idea how long it had been before she was found! My Mom was rushed by Ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center and received the most AMAZING Care for her duration there! Unfortunately, she passed away days later in the Hospital never having recovered ! Anyone going to Anchor Care should know, be or have an Advocate for your loved one and question and demand things that are not right! Have a possible plan to accommodate their appetite and hunger as the food there is unappetizing and not appealing. The Staff is good but limited, make favor with those who help your loved one on a daily basis and Thank them for their support, it goes a long way! The place is definitely Clean and more modern then some, but not great in there Medical follow up or returning calls! Rest in Peace Mom, I honored your request!

My husband was in Anchor for 3 weeks after Coronary Bypass surgery and the care was abysmal. Only…read moreone nurse responded to questions. The institution claims that he saw a Dr. the first day but only one other time the last day before we took him home. He lost about 20 lbs in this period from refusing to eat the food and getting depressed. There is only one shower forall the patients on the 3rd floor and his surgical incision was supposed to be showered daily. There was no recourse to air our grievances. The Social Worker was hard to reach and not available to help us out. As his wife, I was constantly frustrated by the lack of oversight. I feel that the facility is highly understaffed and overworked. There was no way to reach the patients except by cellphone before 9 AM and after 5 PM. When I spoke to the Management they spouted their great 5 star reviews. But when I finally went to Yelp the reviews were horrendous. I see that they only got 1 1/2 stars. In terms of rehab - in the "gym" people were in wheelchairs heads bent - very sad to see. At least my husband did get a half hour of PT but no communication with family as to progress, etc. As I was leaving one day after my daily oversight visits a patient yelled out to me "WELCOME TO THE PRISON."
