Store overall has great stuff I mostly only buy for my dog my complain is the cashiers. Too slow. I get it when you get busy however there is no consistency on top of that Today the cashier that I had look like she could barely count the money and she has the nerve to throw the bad opposite of me so I asked my money back and threw my money at her so she could learn to respect others or she'll get treated the same way and I told her she should learn some manners and she told me I should learn some when she was the one in the wrong so I told her OK. You're lucky. I'm not speaking to a manager today. I was pretty mad because she even told me oh do I want to wait longer. This one doesn't have as much as other Marshalls and the lines are extremely long all of the time! This was the first time that I was shopping and the line was moving along quickly. I think the biggest issue is when their tags are missing, the original tag of the designer is still attached and they can't find a price they match it with something else and I do NOT approve they need to have a better system for inventory. The shoe selection and clothing could improve as well. read more

My family and i are such Marshall fans. Sometimes we need a break because it can get toxic. The prices are just so addicting. I love when you go theirs just always something new. We also be there forever because we first start off with the beauty section on the first floor, work our way down to the female clothing, shoes, lingerie, babies and kids & handbags. Then we make our way down to the Men section where the house decors and kitchen tools, bedding, & pet. Yeah! You can say i believe we spend an hour here. The service is great to us because we already know some cashiers but overall, i never had a problem with any of the employees. Yes, you might have some slow cashiers but the fast ones make up for it and have the lines moving. The management team here is so rude; from lying about their policy to rolling their eyes and catching an attitude. Had multiple bad experiences at this location. We had to deal with Sarah and Karen (both managers). We were charged wrong for and order with over 100 items. And had to come back and do a return and get everything rung up again. Sarah had an attitude from the beginning even though it was the store that made this mistake and went out of their way to tell us they won't accept our form. After talking to the corporate office and regional manager they were notified and had to accept it. The two ladies at the register were actually helpful. As we were getting rung up people just walked out with clothes in their hand without paying. Sarah made a comment "we can't do anything about it; I'm not security." yet you catch an attitude with a paying customer. This location is a joke; TJ down the block is a gem, go there!!! I don't understand why there are 6 cashiers and the line still moves at a glacial pace. everytime I come here I wait a half an hour online

Not my first time here but this particular time motivated me to write a review. Sunday around 10 am and my bf had found a pair of these football cleats on the clearance racks priced at 7$ ! They were missing a shoe lace but for 7$ they're still a sure buy. As we continued to browse through the store he decided to try the cleats on just to make sure of the fit and comfort. While doing this we both didn't realize the tag had pulled off. When we got to the line with our items we waited a solid 30 mins before we were next at the cashier. Why this store has about 10 registers but can't facilitate a line any time I go there is beyond me. However, my main issue was when it came time to ring up the cleats the cashier made a funny face when we explained to her the tag missing stated 7$. We waited yet another 15 -2o mins for a "manager check" and were told they were 26$. This wait time and discrepancy as a whole just annihilated my dose of morning coffee. I was going to head back and look around for the tag but my bf was already restless and doesn't like being held up or scenes at the register. We went back a few weeks later and the same cleats with the missing shoe lace still weren't sold and priced at the same 26$. (I hope they never sell). read more

I genuinely enjoy this department store. Why? Because it's unique in its nature to the Elmont neighborhood! Way back when.... I remember this store used to be a Waldbaums Supermarket. Then they started building Marshalls and everybody thought it wouldn't last because of the crime induced location. I've seen some pretty wild iish at this Marshalls. Nothing too crazy dramatic, raunchy, or life threatening, but this store has a very unique crowd and atmosphere. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE! If you come here at any given time the shoes will be a complete disaster; the home goods area will probably have cracked ceramic house ware or a broken vase; the area around checkout will have scattered chocolates prior to a bag breaking up, and the line well you can say bye to your evening plans! If you've been craving a trip to the Bronx Zoo, don't waste your money paying toll on the silly bridge-- instead-- COME TO MARSHALLS! In all seriousness though, I do enjoy this store because the pieces are unique in the sense that they don't really have duplicates. You have to DIG when you're here, especially if you want to find something good. Pieces will pop up left and right due to the lack of organization. This store for me is always a great last minute spot to hit up during a holiday or for spontaneous dinner plans, if I feel like spending on a budget and I'm pressed for time. This location has stepped their game up within the past year. Lines used to be as long a a Michael Jackson concert. Now they have hired competent cashiers and sales floor staff to deal with the demand of bargain hunters. The inventory has gotten alot better with more sizes being available and cleaner store layout. I get here at opening and have had very pleasant shopping experiences. Great selection of shoes and great acessories. I just wish the Children's section offered more selection. read more

Lazy and rude staff. I had several unused items with tags on them (Marshall's policy is they will give you a store credit if you are returning items without a receipt) and they did not take back 1 thing!! Later that day, my sister and I tried returning the same items at a different location, Lawrence, and we got 2 store credit cards totaling to about $330. Okay i like Marshalls! This location carries a variety of things from, shoes,clothes,home decor, home essentials, beauty products, purses, bags, toys & books for kids, food, even furniture! When you walk in you have to first find a shopping cart that works right. It's annoying. Shoe section is pretty messy i wish customers wouldn't be so inconsiderate and leave every shoe that they have tried on on the floor! Clothes- i think if you are willing to sift through racks theres something for everyone! They do have a fitting room! But be ready to be treated like a criminal when entering room, im surprise attendant doesn't frisk and pat you down. Haha.. i know she's doing her job but jeez. When you finally find something, get ready to be standing in line for 30 minutes or more sometimes. Lines are exceptionally long and registers are slow. Oh, how i hate finally finding something.. and having to leave stire without it because of line. Restroom? I decided to check out this Marshalls and let me say i am usually more of a TJ Maxx fan rather than their sister Marshalls. The store is clean, organization is good not great and I applaud them for their clean accessible bathrooms. I found a great selection of in style and season clothing at a bargain...so excited. The best feature to this store is their dressing room, the attendant was sweet and the lighting and mirrors are some of the best I have seen. Their down fall is the mile long line which seemed to move slow. maybe open all registers when there are so many customers... I would go again :) read more

This place is ridiculous and I can honestly say I'm only a Regular because my mom LOVES this place. THE LINE IS ALWAYS RIDICULOUSLY LONG!!! Honestly, it does not matter at all what time you go here, what day, how's the weather, NOTHING! There is nothing that makes a difference. This place is always crowded. The shoes are usually all over the place. It's rare that I'll find a decent looking shoe in my size. The clothes are everywhere. You'll have to dig so make sure you have your shovel with you. It's so annoying. I'm already not a big fan of shopping. The whole process is just too annoying but when I'm in a store like this it makes it that much worst. It's such a task to have to dig and dig and dig threw racks of clothing to find anything. They truly need a better system. This Marshall's has a good selection of clothes and household items. The organization is okay, but the customers really mess up the shelves and the staff just can't keep up. It can get very crowded, so better off browsing during a week day. Since their prices are reasonable, it's fun to shop there without feeling too guilty. Of course it's hit or miss for finding things in your size or styles that you like, but worth a visit. Be quick because items are available one day and then completely gone the next and never come back. I found the fitting room attendant to be kind of annoying. She's always staring at everyone who walks by. It's awkward because there's a mirror outside the fitting room, but who wants to linger being stared at? There also seems to be something odd about a majority of the people who shop there at peak times. They almost always have at least 4 kids in tow and probably a baby pushchair. The clothing aisles are narrow, so if a woman pushing a baby heads your way, you have no choice but to turn around and walk away from whatever you were looking at. Repeat every 5 minutes. (It's like the live action version of the computer game PONG, but you're the ball). The same women tend to either sing(!) or yell at their kids so much that you'll turn around and walk away regardless. Of course you might get hit into by a cart or baby on wheels, then stared at like it's your fault that you don't have eyes on the back of your head. Finally there are the dads who encourage their kids to play tackle football between the aisles. The one thing about discount stores is the crazy way it makes shoppers act. They really pile those carts full of stuff, hence the super long lines. I usually only buy one item if that, and have on occasion put it back rather than wait in line. read more

Let me first say-- I LOVE Marshalls. Anyone who knows me knows it. If I don't get it online, chances are I got it from Marshalls. I can be oblivious when necessary--and at Marshalls, it's the number one requirement. I go into a zone. I can stay forever. It's the perfect ambrosia to satisfy (at least for a while) the constant hunger of my shopping addiction. I get a bit annoyed at Marshalls, however. Truly, no matter what time of day, night, morning, weekend, Thursday, whatever -- there is a line. And it's too long. And there aren't enough people at the registers. And every single Marshalls has this same thing going--too little staff--right? Right. Too little,even if you include the friendly armed security guards. So whole families with mile-high piles of back-to-school gear in their carts wait... and wait... Eternally.... In that roped-off line... the line that's long enough to be the line for the greatest amusement park ride ever... That's the part I don't like. But my very own mile-high pile keeps me coming back for more. In the end, apparently, it's worth it. My retail therapy dream come true. Of course I always wake up to reality on that line... So I worked at this store. The staff was great, the pay was great, but they fired me after 90 days. They fired me smack down in the middle of my shift which I thought was completely wrong, and inappropriate to do. The two managers who did it were Sarah and Marie. Then, I tried to explain to them with tears on my face, that I have a learning disability, and it did not work at all. In my opinion, it was terrible, and I was completely broken the rest of the day. I worked my but off day in, and day out. They said reasons for firing me were phone usage, and doing too much wandering, when there's hundreds of other employees that I've seen with my own two eyes use their phone. Also, there are these two managers there, Kareen and Sarah. They both have a terrible terrible attitude. Never smiled, never said hello to me, and always had something very off colored and rude to say to me. They should not be managers there at all. Not recommended as a job. read more

Super rude staff at this location. This is the second and last time i visit this particular Marshall'. As I was leaving, I did not realize the wheels of the cart locked. I had semi-heavy items and recently had surgery. An employee ran to the door and very rudely exclaimed that the wheels lock. I said I know now , thats not nice ( i was smiling) and started to slowly pick up my items. The employee stated again super rudely, they lock! This store is a hit or miss, just like any other Marshall's sometimes they have good items for sale and sometimes not. This review is based on the store customer service, which is horrible. I went in and ask if they sold passport covers. I was told in the travel section. After looking around for like 5 mins I finally found someone who was able to assist me and he told me they were kept in the area while you wait in line. So I went over there and wasn't able to find it so I ask someone and they told me back in the travel section. No one never knows where anything is and the run around is just ridiculous. I end up leaving and just buying it at Target. This is not the first time. Last time I went in there for the travel Neck rest and was mislead around the the whole store. Also be prepared to wait on line for 30 mins or more in this store. As soon as they open is the best time to come cause you will find someone to assist ( hopefully) and the lines are someone short. This is legitimately a hidden gem of a Marshalls. If you've seen the line here, you probably realize it isn't too hidden, but theres plenty of fashion to go around. Moschino Jackets. 50% off. Heaven. The TJMaxx's in New Hyde Park and Greenvale never have deals like that. They also had some great DKNY trenches and puffers. Home stuff is great here too. Sheet sets are under $20, and name brand towels start at under $10. Their slow lines and lack of personal furnishings cost them the star. read more

My second issue with this Marshalls is the horrendously LONG line that I have to endure. If there are about 10 registers why does it take so long? It's always a hit or miss so my theory is - if you re debating on getting something- I say go for it, you can always return it before 30 days if you don't like it !
