Apparently they had 50% off storewide sale and she wanted to take a look. I had not seen or heard of Torrid before so off went. It's a nicely appointed, clean, and well stocked store with friendly and helpful staff. While I figured out what they sold I decided to look them up to see what their deal is. They offer plus-size clothing and accessories for women size 10-30. Torrid opened its first store in 2001, in the Brea Mall in Brea, CA. They have over 600 stores in operation across 36 states in the US and is owned by Sycamore Partners, owner of Hot Topic, and US office retail biz Staples. They sell accessories, shoes, jewelry, novelty tee shirts, fashion tops, pants, Capri pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, outerwear, intimate apparel, hosiery, gifts, and beauty products. Bottom line: Nothing here for me, and my honey things it's maybe too young designs, but it's just right for my 30 something daughter.

I came in recently just to browse and potentially pick up a few things, and what started as a normal shopping trip quickly turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. While looking through the clearance section, I found an item without a clear price and wanted to ask if any additional discounts applied. I politely approached the nearest employee, who happened to be Deandria. I said, "Excuse me, do you know if this item has any further markdowns?"--a very simple and respectful question. Her immediate reaction was hostile. She gave me a look of annoyance and said, "Why do people always ask that?" in a rude tone. I was caught off guard but still tried to clarify, saying I didn't mean to be a bother. At that point, she outright cursed at me, saying something along the lines of "I don't have time for this sh*t," and walked off. This happened within earshot of other shoppers, and I was honestly humiliated. I've worked in customer service before, so I understand it can be stressful, but there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of unprofessional, aggressive behavior. I tried to bring it to the attention of another associate at the register, but they just looked uncomfortable and didn't say much. It felt like either they knew this kind of behavior from Deandria was normal--or worse, that they couldn't do anything about it. I left the store immediately and didn't make any purchases. The entire experience made me feel disrespected and completely unwelcome. Management at Ross needs to take this seriously. No customer should be treated this way for asking a question. If someone is this disrespectful on the floor, it raises serious concerns about how other customers might be treated, or how coworkers might be spoken to behind the scenes. I will also be filing a formal complaint with Ross corporate. This behavior is unacceptable and should have consequences.

I was looking for a citronella candle and no one had any but Ross had one in a pottery planter that will be useful after the candles done.. of course they have lots of clothes and a few shoes, cosmetics.. on your way out they have two rows of impulse items and yes I admit they have hooked me a few times on things I really didn't need but just had to have.. knocked off a star cause you can never seem to find any help on the floor in fact the only people I see are at the checkouts so good luck finding help if you need it..

I went in today to try and exchange a pair of leggings I got a couple days ago. I wore them one…read moretime and they had a string pulled so it was almost ripped. I know my size and knew what I wanted. I have been shopping here for so many years now and these are the only leggings I will wear. I didn't think anything of it, so I threw away the receipt and took the tags off. The receipt didn't really matter because it was tied into my account and if they pulled it up they would see when I bought them. I went in to try to exchange them and she told me that they can't do it without the tags. What am I supposed to do? Wear the leggings with the tags still on? No. I know what I wanted so obviously I took the tags off. This was a terrible experience and I don't know if I will be shopping here again.

The store sits right in the Tanger Outlets on South McKenzie Street, just a short hop from Orange Beach, and it is an easy in and easy out. I walked in already knowing I would probably regret it, because everything inside looked like something I wanted to buy for myself, my wife, and my daughters. The selection is huge. Boots, inserts, belts, jeans, summer clothing, winter clothing, tall sizes, small sizes, and racks full of options for every shape and style. The store is packed to the gills with merchandise, yet still easy to move through. What truly stood out was the staff. I talked with the manager for only a couple of minutes, and her knowledge was impressive. I was flying out that afternoon and only had a carry on, so I was limited in what I could bring home. She helped me make the most of that space, and it was clear she knew the products inside and out. Every time I have been in one of the brand stores, whether Nashville, Franklin, Fort Worth, or anywhere else, the people have always been friendly. This outlet adds a layer of genuine Southern hospitality that makes the experience even better. Clean store, great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a location that is easy to access. If you are anywhere near Orange Beach or passing through Foley, it is absolutely worth the stop.
