I'm a fan of shops like Winners and so when they announced that Canada was getting a Marshalls I was so excited. First impression it was very clean and organized I dont know if it was beacue its only been open for a month or so. All the workers seems so friendly I never feel that at discount stores. Great selection of designer clothing, I did find that sizes were limited but that's expected in shops like this.

    Uniqlo heattech rip-off.

They are surprisingly well-stocked on a recent visit. From Adidas kicks to Jack Spade messenger bags to Patagonia t-shirts, they have it all. I dig their shoes still come in the original boxes (looking at you Winners). Prices aren't exactly cheap, but they always have a clearance rack. Funny they should carry this Uniqlo heattech rip-off undershirt.

In fact, the multi year transformation that its currently undergoing makes it less of a traditional mall and more of a mini city that has spawned into a mixed-use commercial district. Their use of natural lighting all throughout the space makes it an ideal place for a photo in any corner. In addition to the space, many stores have stepped in with a good number that are high-end to appease all of the new money coming into the city of Richmond. It has become a leisurely destination for families and teenagers as folks roam the mall from corner to corner. One of the most significant transformations has been their food court, which has been dubbed the DiningTERRACE and features a number of food and drink spots. The only downside has been the mediocrity of most spots, which has plenty of room for improvement. Parking is also a mess, especially during the weekend. Folks are constantly competing for space and camping out has become a necessity during their busiest times. As many skyscrapers have been built nearby and it's proximity to the metro rail, this place will only serve to be busier as time goes on. ____________ (#1) 18 years has flown by.

It does have anchor tenants at all sides, so remember where you come in from. What I appreciate about this mall is the prices at the food court. I'm not sure if there is an agreement or something, but most of the food operators have at least a couple of items under $10, making it very affordable. Some even sell coffee or tea at under $2. You do see many elderly Asians here, maybe that's why there is cheaper options? They do occupy the tables at the food court chatting for a long period of time. Think of this as another version of Timmies, but with more food options. I was told the T&T here is the largest and it is busy at all hours. The parking area near it is always full. Park elsewhere where it has more empty spots. I like this Asian mini mart (Smart Save) where you can get many food stuff from Asia that are not available in T&T. There is also Langley Farm Market here which has nice produce. There are also Daiso, Dollarama, JYSK, Forum home appliances, etc here. Interesting mix of tenants. Crowded on weekends especially when there are special events in the atrium. It's like a typical mall you will see in Asia, packed with families.

Pulled up just after noon and it was packed, but the line at Don Noodle moved pretty quick Ordered the cart noodle with 3 meats (intestines, tripe, and beef) in satay sauce with thick noodles--and wow, that rich, nutty broth hit just right. Also got their famous ginger scallion chicken with rice, and it did NOT disappoint. Super flavorful, comforting, and generous portions all around - great value. Not sure what to make of this place. It looks big from the outside, but basically it's a dumpy food court and a really sad shopping area, with a hotel and office tower attached. The food court is obviously tailored more towards the lunchtime crowd, as it was totally dead by dinner time (only 2 places open). The shopping area is pretty dead too in the evening too, other than a bakery. The place used to be more lively when there was a T&T here, but that is long gone. At least the parking is manageable now.

This location is popular for Asians and most of the time, the stuff is quite messy because of the shoppers. Immigrants flip over everything and sometimes don't put it back properly. Price is good and service is good. You have have to fight with sharp Asian shoppers to compete for hot items. That can be fun. I have got a lot of stuff from here for myself and my kids. Price is good as long as you don't go after current fashion and are looking for what you really like. This place can also make you over spend for something you don't really need simply because of the lower price. Don't forget, BC has higher tax than other places including US.

This location is in Richmond, at Landsdowne Center ( right on Canada Line, the stop just before Richmond Brighouse ) it's accessible from the outside of the mall, then just up the escalator. It's not the biggest Winners, but it's usually good for not being crowded, and not picked over. This trip I found some cute new boots, Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, a cool dress, a top, and a really sweet lightweight coat. Facial exfoliant, and some boxer briefs for my husband. Add a Diet Coke, and a shopping bag, and my total was $ 151.00 including tax. *Pro Tip* Across from the cashiers, Winners sells large colourful recyclable shopping bags for 1.99. I highly suggest buying one ( or more depending how much shopping you are doing ) they are the best ! They are super strong and hold lots. Perfect for the grocery store, or for any shopping really. Trust me - you will thank me later !
