Aberdeen (meaning "little Hong Kong") Centre is not just a mall but an institution of cultural significance. It was even featured in the Royal BC museum in Victoria. To be honest, we visit each time we're in the area but there's not many stores we would shop at. It's just fun to peruse and window shop here. It is a pretty dated mall but people love it. We tried the food court a few times and the food here is okay but you'll probably do better venturing to eat outside. Overall, a fun place to pass the time and a centre for community. read more

i love visiting aberdeen centre, especially during lunar new year, and this year, the year of the fire horse, the atmosphere feels especially fitting. bold. vibrant. and just dramatic enough to be fun. the parking lot though, is a whole other story. slow laps, strategic patience, and the quiet hope that someone is actually leaving. when brake lights flash, you quickly signal and ease into a spot, it feels like a small personal victory. fitting for a fire horse year. inside, the tension disappears. the atrium opens bright and welcoming, warm white lights cascading down. red lanterns line the second level in formation, fairy lights tracing the railings. red against gold. shimmer against polished tile. at the centre, cherry blossom trees frame a vivid red backdrop. two lion dance heads rest at the edge of the stage, alert and expressive, as if ready to spring to life at any moment. friends and families move in easy rhythm. it is busy, but not chaotic. lively, but warm. vendors line the walkways with red envelopes, tassels, lucky charms, and gleaming ornaments. conversations drift between tables as families debate which decoration might bring the most luck for the year ahead. tucked among it all, a lego pop up draws a steady line. bright red bricks categorized by size, sorted neatly, an intricate lego dragon display standing guard. kids build instinctively, and with full concentration. parents "supervise" while quietly contributing a few extra pieces for structural integrity. we wander upstairs, pause along the railing, take it all in. and almost without fail, every visit ends the same way: the food court. because no matter how stunning the decor, no matter how many photos we take, it never feels complete without drinks in hand and snacks on the table or to go. read more

What a mall! The inside is so clean and new looking. The place is hopping with business and more stores sre coming like Abercrombie and Fitch. Traffic was pretty bad when we were leaving but we took an UBER and that prevented a lot of stress. Check it out. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high for this mall considering we saw some YouTube videos on how this is one of the largest Asian mall out there. I have my doubts on that and if you were to go to Monterey Park, Koreatown, or some other Asian neighborhood, you'd find the same type of stores and probably way more unique than anything at this mall. To me, it was a bit rundown and all the stores were generic stores you can find in any Asian neighborhood. I guess if you're visiting from an area that doesn't have a lot of Asians, this might be unique, but for us, it wasn't anything special and we definitely wouldn't go back unless we specifically needed something. read more

First place we go is Aberdeen Centre to pick up food when we arrived. Free parking but there's traffic getting into the parking garage structure. Took escalator up to 3rd floor where the food court is on. Ordered shrimp wonton noodles soup ($12.95) from Lung Kee booth. Wonton and soup were very flavorful but I wished they give veggies. This lack in veggies but overall it is good. Ordered steamed pork ribs with Chinese sausage over rice and Lemon iced tea from Leung Kee. $13.50 Loaded with pork ribs and it was very tender and flavorful. This is very good and flavorful. Ordered mango sago with pomelo dessert ($8.99) from Sunflower Fruity Desserts. It felt underwhelming. It is supposed to be a dessert to eat but instead it is watery and not thick. What a fun and huge mall! Lots of interesting shops and everything seems really clean. The food court was the highlight because of their impressive selection of Asian cuisine especially the Hong Kong themed dishes. It was super hard to choose where to snack. To my surprise, the quality surpassed some of the places I've had in California and even in Hong Kong. I only wish I had more time to fully explore everything. read more

Everything here is actually quite good here, from the restaurants to the keyosks and retailers, everything hitts you when you enter. Parking is not actually bad if you don't mind making your way up to the 4th level or the roof level, as the first 3 are usually busy durring lunch and dinner rush and durring the long weekend and Chinies newyear. The H mart on the main level is a go to for korean snacks and grocery items. we use to come all the time when we lived with in easy driving, walking, and Sky train ride away. If we could come back here again, I would pay a visit again, like 3 or 4 times every 2 to 5weeks for new openings and even old favorites. I came to visit the food court. Large selection of various regions of asia foods. Shanghai, Szechuan, Cantonese etc. legit variety to choose from. You get good value for what you get. $15 per item. Fair price. As for the customer service its dependent on which food stall you choose. Clothes, trinkets, etc... are verrey expensive. Its like more than h&m $$. Average clothing is more than $100. Aberdeen Centre is a clean and modern 3-level shopping center with a good selection of clothing, jewelry, houseware, health & beauty stores, a large food court, and a few restaurants. It reminds me a lot of the shopping malls in Hong Kong. If you're in the Richmond area and want to kill time with an indoor activity, Aberdeen Centre is worth about a 2-hour visit to browse around. The lower level has a fun display that changes seasonally; when I visited end of March 2024, there was an Easter-themed + cherry blossom display. My one complaint was lack of seating other than at the food court. When coming from downtown Vancouver, the Canada Line is your most convenient option. Get off at Aberdeen station to go through Aberdeen Square (another shopping center that's much smaller) to get Aberdeen Centre. read more

My teen daughter loves going to the Asian mall in Vancouver BC. This is one we like due to its a good balance of stores and crowds. There's 3 level and they have a lot of options for teens who are into Japanese theme. The food court I think is probably my favorite part of the mall. You know you are in an Asian mall when 99% of the shoppers there are Asian. My teens favorite shops are: Oomomo, ArtBox, Candyland; and Gacha Gacha Hobbies & Toys. I like the mall because it gives them some Asian stores you don't find in the states and its not as overwhelming as Metro. That being said, I wish they had more apparel clothing stores like they do at Metros. There's a lot of tea shops there more then clothing. Parking can be a pain but they do have a garage. Just bring your patience and you will find a parking spot. Tip: take a photo of the spot and the entrance to where you go into the mall so you can find where you park afterwards. 2** stars for the stores options and parking, but 4 **** stars for the food court--hence I average it out to 3*** stars for the mall. read more

We come here every single time we come to Vancouver. The food court never disappoints with the variety to choose from the unbeatable price. This time, we stopped by the first day for lunch. We got food from three different resultants, and they were all so good. We also got fresh fruit beverages. We ordered buns with minced pork, beef curry, and fried chicken wings. Big, popular, modern mall with 3 levels in Richmond, Vancouver, Canada. For a visiting American, majority of the brands are not familiar. A lot of clothing stores, shops with herbs and ginseng, and oomomo (comparable to Daiso) that consists of three floors. This is a recommended stop when visiting Vancouver, so we made sure to fit it in! I love the Asian influence all throughout. It literally feels like you're in another Country. We opted to get something to eat at the food court and I couldn't believe how many options there are! My only reason for giving 4 stars is that several places only had cash payment options, not a credit card. As tourists in the area, we didn't have cash and so many places missed out on our business since we couldn't pay by card. In chinatown richmond. This mall is like being transported to Hong Kong. It is the best food court in canada in my books. It's similar to a hawker style food court in Asia! Theres so many choices and it's hard to pick places to eat. I always get me some kind of soup, dumplings and a bubble waffle. Everything is dirt cheap for less than $12. All of it is authentic and delicious. There are also some of the best asian restaurants in vancouver here. I always venture here for at least 1 meal. And I wish I could come more often. If there's one thing in Vancouver that I'm jealous of it's Aberdeen Centre! It's a Chinese shopping mall, similar to Pacific Mall, but it's better laid out, is cleaner, and looks less dated than Pmall. But the main thing is the food court is A+++++++++++++++! There's so much seating, and even the stalls look a lot more comfortable for the people working inside. We didn't have too much time to try lots of places, but pretty much every we tried was good. Big shoutout to Sesame Kitchen, Leung Kee BBQ, and Yogurt King, they were awesome!! Only bad thing is they open kinda late and close kinda early... Must be a West Coast thing... I am actually like this mall. It has several favorite store I like to visit. This includes the Daiso general store. This is a two levels building. They have restaurant I have not try yet. It is Sura Korean. The line was form before the door was open. That tell you how good they are. The mall currently decorated with beautiful panda. It is cute to have a bunch of pictures. They allowed scam stores like M G Cosmetics to be staying in the mall, so it's kind of questionable on what their standard is. The lady in M G Cosmetics was hostile to young kids and played trick to force parents to buy insanely overpriced items. She closely monitor kids entering the store and take any chance to claim that the kids caused damage to the product so she could force adults to buy whatever kids touched! They put advertising stickers that are not part of the product and lured kids to touch so that the stickers may come off, and she claimed that the product was damaged by the kids! Most items were not price tagged, and people have no idea on what they'd cost until they had to pay. A $10 body wash costs $40 here. That's disgusting! If this mall revise their standard of merchant acceptance and make sure the scam stores like this are not allowed to be in the mall, then this will be an adorable place to visit. read more

I'm Japanese living in Bellingham, WA right across the border from Canada. Richmond (British Columbia) is only an hour away from Bellingham and we can find a lot of things Asian. While most things in Richmond, BC are Chinese, Aberdeen Center has a couple of good businesses that are Japanese. One of them is Oomomo, a new brand of Daiso, a Japanese dollar store. The Aberdeen location is huge, the largest I have seen in North America! Also, at the food court, you can find Saboten, a Japanese "ton kastu" (deep fried pork cutlet) restaurant. It seems J.sweets, an authentic Japanese sweet shop, is coming soon. While the number of shops that interest me is small, I am a big fan of Aberdeen Center for a couple of reasons. First, the authenticity of those few businesses. If you need Chinese and other Asian products, Aberdeen Centre is the place you need to go! A huge indoor shopping mall filled with an abundance of stores. I felt like I'm in one of the many shopping centers in China, but my Cantonese was useful here lol. There's a lot of free parking. The mall is very spacious and clean. You can buy ginseng and bird's nest here, pick up some household goods, clothes, and a Mercedes Benz along the way. The food court is filled with Chinese food from dim sum to bubble drinks to noodle soups. I can see my family enjoying this mall very much! A nice one stop shop shopping centre! read more

We stumbled upon this place while in search for a dim sum restaurant. Aberdeen Centre is an Asian shopping mall with 3 floors. There's even an H-Mart on the ground level. The mall is quite unique with a U-shape structure. It's so clean and well-maintained. Per my jet setter BF, this mall is similar to those found in Hong Kong. I like that the majority of stores and food here are ethnically diverse. You can find some of the most authentic Asian food at the food court. I didn't get try any. There are also several restaurant options ranging from Chinese to Korean. Most notable is one of the best dim sum spots in Vancouver: Fisherman's Terrace Seafood Restaurant. Such a nice spot for tourists to eat, shop, and hang out like a local. Here you can also find premium stores for clothing and jewelry. There's even a Mercedes Benz store if you feel like ordering one. I liked Mei Jan Hong because they make fresh Singapore beef, pork, salmon, and chicken jerky. It's really tasty with a choice of spicy or sweet flavor. When it's raining in Vancouver, come here and spend the day. It's only a 20 minute ride on the skytrain from downtown. read more

I really like this little mall. I get here by taking the Canada line to Richmond Brighouse. It's the stop right after Bridgeport, conveniently named Aberdeen. I come here mainly to shop at Daiso. The Japanese dollar store. 2 floors of fun items. There is one of these downtown, but it's only half the size of this one. I also love the Food court here. You won't find your typical fast food chains, but instead it's filled with all sorts of Asian delights. I typically go for a bubble tea slush ( with half pearls and half coconut jelly ) and I buy my lunch or dinner at a Korean place. They are both consistently excellent. They have a huge Christmas tree right now, and the other day they were having a concert there. It drew quite the crowd. There are lots of other boutiques here, electronics stores, and many other unique shops. It's not your typical mall, but that's why I like it. read more

This is an Asian mall with many stores overpriced and most of the store is own by the owner of the mall Mr. Fong who also owns Fairchild TV and Fairchild Radio Station. There are free parking but it can be quite busy in the parkade. What's worse is Mr. Fong rents out the parking spots as reserves for business owner or people who don't even does business at Aberdeen Mall. As well, one of the reason why Mr. Fong owns majority of the stores at Aberdeen is that the rent per square feet is one of the highest compared to Richmond and even Vancouver. Especially in today's economy owners can't afford hefty rent. I only come here for food and groceries and nothing here. The clothing stores sell cloths that only fits Asians who are born in Asia (meaning super skinny or small size clothing). All other things just over priced. The mall is clean. I find that this place is not suitable for people who needs to sit after a long walk. There are limited number of seats and majority of the seats don't have a backing for it (so this place isn't great for people needing to rest with back problems). They do have shows once in a while such as Chinese New Year, or even their Fairchild Radio DJ competition etc. But you have to know Chinese in order to go to these shows. The MJ at the show usually don't speak fluent English, don't speak it at all or have a really bad accent that makes it hard to understand. And most of the time they don't translate. read more

Why can't NY have something like this! I ordered a classic beef satay with ramen and it was cooked perfectly. My friends order the churn fun with shu Mai and fishball in mix sauces and egg waffle. We also got fresh juices and a bowl of pho. Unfortunately i forgot the name of the exact restaurant. Everything was yummy and the food court had a decent around of tables for seating. The original Aberdeen was one of the 1st (if not THE 1st) Chinese mall in the Vancouver area, opened in 1989. It was torn down and rebuilt in 2005 as the mall you see today. The good: The mall itself has a beautiful layout. Their anchor tenant, Daiso, is a great place to pick up inexpensive + durable items. Upstairs, the food court is pretty good. You can get anything from Japanese to Malay, and most of it is quite decent. Also, you have decent restaurants like Tropika, Guu, and Northern Delight. The bad: Parking here is a war zone, especially on weekends. One thing they should've done was make the lanes 1 way. I always like to go 1 or 2 levels up. Other than restaurants, there honestly isn't *too* much worth seeing here, other than a couple of figurine shops. Everyone I know pretty much only comes here to eat, or hit up Daiso. Fairchild Group definitely had the right intentions, but they really do need to improve the quality of the tenants to change the image. read more

A parking nightmare! If I was the one driving in this parking lot, I likely would have nicked a car. The lot at Aberdeen Centre is pretty ridiculous on weekends, but even more so when I visited on Christmas. Getting in and finding a parking spot took a good half hour. Thank goodness my sis was driving as we had to turn around from a dead end in the lot not once but twice. There is a gated section that is only for paying parkers and one in which there is a wall at the end of it. Take the fact that this is an Asian mall and that exacerbates the stress of driving in this lot. The actual mall itself is fine. The restaurants, food court and Daiso are the most appealing places. The shop selection here though is fairly diversified. Mostly made up of clothing boutiques, housewares and things like it. There is also a food market on the bottom level which might be worth checking out. The mall itself is okay, but the parking lot is worth avoiding if you can. read more

Aberdeen Centre is a little piece of Hong Kong lodged up in Richmond's ever changing landscape. This mall is the most beautiful Asian mall I've seen in North America and quite possibly among the newest. It is spacious, clean, and constantly filling up with new stores all over the place. It is as modern as any new Hong Kong mall I've seen. On the outside, the mall is sleek, impressive, and simply brilliant. The interior is 4 levels / floors of random shops and restaurants, with a simple layout all visitors can follow. Though it is as massive as it looks, walking around here doesn't feel too overwhelming with all of the businesses keeping things interesting. Depending on the time of the year, Aberdeen is subject to host many galleries, exhibitions, seasonal events. They have a great mix of international stores / businesses that folks won't find in regular malls. Sure, Richmond is home to many Chinese malls with a similar line of businesses, but Aberdeen really kicks up the variety in a big way. From Home Decor to Electronics to Fashion to Restaurants, this mall seems to really have it all. I do wish they had a better selection of sporting goods stores (other than Impulse and Sportswear Warehouse) but they have a good crop of empty spaces that still haven't been filled by would-be businesses just yet. My personal favorite spots in the mall are on the ground floor and the top floor. The ground floor (AKA the Lobby) usually has some fun shows that are meant to entertain the crowd. I've seen TVB events hosted here, which make for a decent sized crowd. There is also a market place that gets popular on the weekend, such as Cho's Farmer's Market and the SE Asian folks that come on an occasional basis. The top floor has a fantastic food court with nice cheap Chinese fast food places (Shanghai Shanghai, Mambo Cafe, and Ajijiman) and they have quite possibly one of the finest Dim Sum restaurants in Fisherman's Terrace. I've read and heard they plan on expanding the mall for more businesses. I can't imagine how they'll gain the extra space, but if they do, let it be the parking. I can never seem to find a decent spot out here. read more

This place is what dreams are made of. For the poor deprived Chinese person living in Austin, TX, locals have no idea how lucky they are to have something like Aberdeen Centre with all the stores you could possibly ever need in one place (even H-mart!). But I think for me, the top draw has to be the food court. There's so much good, cheap food in one place. And there is so much variety there that I doubt you'll ever get bored of the food that is available. Our family all split up and got what they wanted and we collaborated and shared what we got and it was basically an asian feast. Will definitely look forward to the day I can come back here. read more
