We've always had an excellent care and the Marshfield clinic is half the price of any place in Springfield!

0 STARS!! This place has now k*lled TWO of my dogs and showed zero grace, sympathy, respect,…read moreanything in return. Years ago they ov3rdos3d my teacup chihuahua with his vac!nes. Today (05/29/26) I took our beloved miniature dachshund in at 8:30am to get neutered and he was k*ll3d instead. At 9:30am we were called and told that the sedation went fine but his test!cles hadn't dropped so they needed our permission to "find them" because it cost $100 more. They said there were no pros or cons to continue or stop the surgery so since we were under the impression he was already put under, we agreed to let them go ahead with it and we would pay the extra money. The vet did not run proper tests on my dog beforehand or check his heart, which was enlarged (found out after d3ath), and put him under in which the anesthetic k!ll3d him. If they would've taken 1 simple step to check, our sweet boy would still be al!ve and well. They also waited over 5 hours to call us around 1:15pm to even tell us the news and when we showed up less than 5 minutes later, he was already cold and stiff. While being very dismissive, defensive, degrading, heartless and down right rude to us, the lady who called us at 9:30am argued that she "never said they had him sedated on the phone" which is an absolute lie. The vet was so defensive and said he did everything he could. We were then told that since his test!cles hadn't dropped, the surgery wasn't even needed because he was more than likely infertile. Then why'd they do it?? Why didn't they tell us that on the first phone call?? He shrugged his shoulders and didn't have an answer then. I asked about the huge time gap from 9:30am-1:15pm and he said "he tried calling us at 11am and it didn't go through" so in his case he didn't get an answer so he waits another 2 hours? We never got any other calls besides at 9:30am and 1:15pm. When asking for all records and receipts to be printed off, they argued until they were blue in the face that our dog had NEVER been there, that's also not true. He'd been multiple times for vaccines and routine things. They finally found 1 singular visit in their records but none others. The vet was also adamant about sending the x-ray that was done after death, instead I took a photo of the computer screen which shows a time stamp of 10:04am. My dog was long gone before they said anything to us so they could make up a story, they were prepared. They still tried to keep our deposit and make us pay for the cr3mation or we another option given was we could just do a mass cr3mation and toss him out. When I declined (after going back and forth to try to keep our money), they tried making me leave with my cold, stiff dog, in a dinky towel in front of their fully jammed packed waiting room. It was sad, embarrassing, degrading, heartless, and downright inhumane of how we were treated. DO NOT go to this place if you want to keep your animals alive. I'm not the only bad review and I also know they have deleted other bad reviews. Keep your babies safe, do not go here no matter the circumstances. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!

Dr. Casey Talbot is by far the worst Vet I have ever even heard of. He was not even my pets actual…read moredoctor at the clinic, I was told to call back when the prescription ran out, I called and asked what the next steps would be and simply asked the front desk why we would need another examination if one was conduced last time. I got no response, just immediately placed on hold until Dr. Talbot who isn't even our doctor, answered completely unprofessionally and told me if I had questions about why another exam would be needed, that he would then be refusing my services and also wouldn't let me speak to another doctor or just use our Original doctor when she returned from vacation. Forcing myself and my sick dog to have to start all over on a search for another vet. A truly sick person and even worse Vet.

First time I went here one of the vet techs freaked out that I brought a snake in I could here her screaming about it (yes vet tech not receptionist) Snake should of been given a enema but I was sent home with a$200 vet bill and a dosage that Dr Sherman said should be ok this snake died over that weekend visit was on a Thursday death was on following Sunday. I decided to give them another chance which was a mistake. Had a rescue I took in with a respiratory infection They wanted to concerts not a culture test I declined x rays they prescribed baytril to be injected daily, I told them I've never done injections before so Dr Sherman said he would show me how, I wait for them to come back noticeably absent was dr Sherman, the vet tech comes in asking me if I wanted to give the injection I told her I didn't Know how but I could watch video later. She reluctantly injected snake while I was there later to find out she did it improperly I called vet after I left and got to a point where I could watch a video and contact another vet for pointers. I then told Dr Sherman what all she did and his response was is the snake dead how is she doing, well New Year's Eve I go to check on her and she is dead .... They may be ok for dogs and cats but idk I do know they are over priced and do not seem to have proper knowledge for reptiles. They also charged me the price of a full 100ml bottle of baytril when i was prescribed under 30ml
