Today, in the store, when I needed it to find the aisle and location of a product, homedepot.com refused to come uip on my phone - instead I got a message that the "app is out-of-date". I don't know cell phones from space rockets. Jim figured out that the phone app had started to update but in the middle of updating. He asked what I was looking for and then escorted me to exactly where TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) cleaning products were. Home Depot has abandoned the true TSP (the dry granular crystals) and now only carries the TSP solution or a fake product that has no phosphate (phosphate is what does the cleaning). Which is a shame, but the Algonquin Home Depot gets 5 stars from me because Jim got my phone app updated and was knowledgeable on the TSP situation.

I asked the store associate and was told to purchase that item I had to scan the barcode on the display, buy it online, and go up to the service desk. Someone will go unlock the cage and I'll get my item. Piece of cake? Sounds simple right, nope. I did everything the employee told me to place the order, and headed to the service desk to pick up. No issues with placing the order. Immediately, the woman at the desk told me there's a 2 hour wait on online pickups. I explained to her that I'm a person standing in front of her, that came to the store, and not a person shopping online. I WENT online, yes, to order the item, as your associate said I had to per your system. Nobody told me - not the associate or the sign I scanned - that there could be up to a 2 hour wait. How is anybody supposed to know that who's in the STORE purchasing items? I'm not online. If you want to lock things up for security reasons, KEEP TRACK OF THEM. When somebody is buying something in your store, physically, in person, you cannot say they are an online order that has to wait 2 hours. It doesn't help that I have severe anxiety, and was shopping at 6am so I could get off the roads ASAP and get home before morning traffic got bad. I finally got my item after waiting about a half hour for multiple people to check multiple cages, top stock - all kinds of places were checked. This security system has existed my entire 42 year life. You take the paper ticket for the expensive items up to the desk where you wait a couple minutes and they grab it from the secure area. That's the system, simple, been in place since at least the 80s. Why can't you figure it out here in 2026?

I clicked on a link for Appliances 4 Less & receives a response from Helen. I told here we were looking for a washer & dryer combo as both needed to be replaced. When my wife & I arrived we met Helen who was super patient & helpful assisting us on making our decision. This "Appliance 4 Less" store is basically a warehouse set back in an industrial area. The entrance is a single door that goes into a small office area. This area opens up to a warehouse area where they stock a variety different appliances like stove, refrigerator freezers, microwavesbut we were there for a washer/dryer combo. "Appliances 4 Less" has other locations and they provide appliances at multiple locations. I happened to be in Mt Prospect @ Discount Tires to have my car tires rotated so this location in Arlington Heights was about 5 miles from there. At this warehouse they stocked only LG washers & dryers, but they have other options at other stores. LG in general has a very good rating when you compare them w/other appliances. We ended up buying a basic LG washer & dryer. This duo complete w/removal of the old washer & dryer, delivery, & installation was $799 plus tax is $878.9 $140 for delivery, installing and haul away for a total of $1,018.90. Like I said nothing too fancy just a basic LG washer & dryer. Thank you Helen for you time & help in selecting a washer & dryer.

Did find a fridge with a good price with minor dent. paid the asked price and paid for delivery with installation. This is the last thing that went well Was promised a Saturday morning deliver. They use a 3rd party delivery service and never scheduled with them. When I called the store to get it resolved, they three-way called the delivery person and tried to make it my issue to work out with him. Needless to say, it did not get delivered as promised. When it was delivered, they wanted an additional $65 to bring it in as the doors had to be removed to bring in. Its less than 5 min work to remove and put the doors back on. Called store and quit arguing when then got it down to $20. Then the delivery guy wanted another $50 to connect the water claiming the old line was "too old". It was only a couple years old and a 1/4 plastic line like every other water line for a fridge. Let him finish installing and only gave him $20. So, I they messed up the delivery. Handled it badly. The delivery person tried multiple ways to upcharge then still ended up shelling out $20 extra. Not a large sum but it was wrong to be charged. Is having integrity and pride in the service you deliver a lost art. Greed is not a business tactic.

I checked with LG- picture of that email is attached. They lie about returns and refunds. Tell you they are refunding a certain amount and then refund less. When you follow up about it, they have excuses for why they didn't keep their word. This sale and unit was false advertising and they don't care. When you ask for a copy of the receipt, they push you around and eventually just ignore your request and you never get that second receipt as you requested. Be careful if you purchase anything from this store.
