I recently concluded my relationship with this gym. The training and the instructors were good. I…read moreenjoyed the program and learned a lot. The gym itself is adequate for its purpose. Upon joining, I was informed I had to sign a six month payment agreement. I did so. I decided to end my membership because my drive to and from classes (1hr each way) became too burdensome and not because of the quality of instruction. I chose to end my membership as the 6 month deadline approached so as to honor my commitment. Attempting to end my membership required either going to the gym in person or the gym sending me a cancellation document through snail mail. After pointing out this procedure is archaic in a world where one can handle these things via the internet, the gym manager sent me a cancellation document.pdf to complete. I would still be required to return it in person or via snail mail. These terms are spelled out in the 6 month payment agreement. I was also informed that the "payment" team only worked once a week and it could be up to two weeks before they processed my cancellation depending on the day they received the cancellation document. I chose to cancel in person to avoid the letter (which they recommended sending by registered mail to ensure delivery) getting lost and my cancellation not being processed. I cancelled - in person - without administrative incident. I shared my thoughts on the cancellation process - I.e. how archaic it is. I was told that their process is standard practice used by all other gyms and wide groups of businesses in other industries. This is simply false. I'm sharing this experience so that anyone considering joining understands what they are signing up for. I find it curious and disappointing that the gym chooses not to handle cancellation via the internet, email, Docusign, or some other modern method. In my case, cancellation required another 1 hour drive to execute in person as I was not willing to risk an "administrative" error in processing it. While I cannot divine their intent, it can leave the impression that the gym is purposely making it as hard as possible to cancel in order to maintain a revenue stream as long as possible. Whatever their motive is, I encourage them to modernize their administrative practices in order to leave members - past, present and future - with a positive experience.

First, the gripes I guess…read more.. The gym has way too many things to do. When I am paying $100 a month to learn various forms of martial arts, I want to show up to locked doors and a gym that's in a 15 x 20 foot garage. Secondly, although the BJJ classes are great, it would be better if they were taught by a blue belt or even a white belt so that I wouldn't feel so insecure about going to class. Also, what's with the one female bathroom??? They don't even deserve one. In many countries women wouldn't even be aloud to train with men, let alone piss in the same building. Another major gripe I have is the fact that when it's hot, they open the front doors! WTF?!? I want sweat dripping from every foreskin and every orafice so that I can punish my opponent with more than just an arm bar or triangle (yes I am referring to my ball sweat). And what's with all those tires laying around???? I never see any cars in the back neing worked on. I don't know maybe I'm missing something. Last but not least, what's with the old bald guy teaching the muay thai classes? He seems to be the oldest guy in the gym. Half the time he doesn't even pay attention to his students. I think he has more of a crush on some of the other fighters and instructors at the gym. I could be a little jealous but I'm not. All that aside.... the place is really laid back which makes for an excellent learning environment. That's why I slapped about a million of those bumper stickers on the back of my Kia Rio. Hopefully it will help me get chicks.

My wife, my son and I all train at Atos San Antonio. My wife and I just started a few weeks ago…read moreand our son has been with Atos for over 6 months. My son started when he was 4 and now he is 5 and I can honestly say that we could not be more impressed. Anytime a 5 year old is chomping at the bit to do something every day of the week, that speaks for itself. He absolutely loves going to Atos, and I do mean every day Monday through Friday...and last Saturday he woke up and wanted to go for a 6th straight day. He tells me on the way to Atos that he just loves to go see his coaches and Professor Nuno. Anyone who reads this should feel completely assured that Professor Nuno and his staff will provide a safe and fun environment for your child...if you have any doubts, you are always welcome to sit and watch your child train...most of the parents do! Even though my wife and I are fairly new to training at Atos San Antonio, we have both already had an opportunity to learn some things about the environment for adults at Atos. The other members of the classes are extremely welcoming. Everyone helps each other and that begins on day 1. Professor Nuno provides a learning environment that is clean, safe and tailored to each student. Obviously I couldn't walk in on the first day and be expected to train on the same techniques as the more experienced students. I also need time to get in shape and that is respected and monitored to ensure I don't go beyond what I can handle. Professor Nuno will make sure that you build from the ground up if you are a beginner. If you already have experience, great, because I can promise you that the knowledge and training you are looking for are available here. Professor Nuno has trained and competed around the world at the highest levels and he will be eager to help you achieve your goals no matter how lofty they may be. No matter if you are looking to train, or know someone else who is, I encourage you to take a serious look at Atos San Antonio. Atos provides an opportunity for a person to receive world class instruction and I am confident that anyone who chooses to train here will have their expectations exceeded.

My kids love it here and have been attending for two years now. My daughter who's 7 is much stronger than her peers. I can feel her strength when she spars with me or clings on.
