April 10 a text was sent requesting to speak to Nate (the owner) but was denied! Michael (the "gatekeeper") said we should have the bid by April 12. In an e-mail April 12 we were told we would have the bid "shortly with discounted pricing due to the delay". April 26th and still no bid so have given up. Very disappointed especially reading such rave reviews and meeting Nate. And, after sending a review to the BBB, in the response by N N Electric, the box stating "I don't believe this review was made by someone who had an interaction with this business" was checked!

I wasn't aware of their 'up front pricing' contracts when I scheduled them. I thought it would be time and materials. After an hour of discussion and prioritizing, and putting their heads together, Helping Hands offered two eye watering quotes for what they thought they could accomplish in that day from my list for the two sides. I was free to accept or decline them and call someone else if needed. I wasn't expecting that - I expected a bunch of the work done from my list that day, with more on a subsequently scheduled day. I felt a bit blindsided, but needed the work done and didn't have time to call anyone else. The work that was done seemed to be done VERY well. However, they finished one side earlier than anticipated, but too late to start the other, and left at 3:30. Apparently if it's not on the quote, they can't start, won't start anything else. I had soooo many piddly things on my list like changing out the color and checking outlets and switches that could have been started and completed in that extra hour, but they weren't on the quote. I was told they would adjust the price on the quote because they didn't have as many complications as they thought. They adjusted the price, I expressed my concerns and we decided to part ways after the whole experience. So bottom line, if you've got lots of time and money, and you're on the property 24/7 and you want great quality work, call Helping Hands. But if you need to maximize your time with limited funds, and you need a lot of piddly stuff as well as big things done, this might not be the company for you. It wasn't for me.

Their electricians know what they are doing, and keep me up to date by a phone call to say when they will arrive. They do their billing via email. We had a new ceiling fan and light installed in a room where there was none, had a proper fan box installed where a fan was installed without proper support, fix three-way switches, put in a new outlet for a gas range vs. electric, remove can lights and switches we didn't want, and change "switched" outlets to always on. They usually book out a bit, but it's worth the wait.
