Visited on a Friday at 4:30, knowing they close at 5pm. I've been wanting to visit for years but every time I'm in the area, it's usually on a Sunday and they're closed on Sundays. My bf and I tried a variety of flavors and they were all great! Our favorites being the unfiltered apple cider, the blush/cherry, honeycrisp, and mango. Always heard about Martinelli's Company Store and finally made the trek on a weekend. A small store yet full of history of how the Martinelli brand all started. Aside from the various Martinelli products they sell onsite, they also have a tasting bar where you can select 3 beverages to sample before buying. Kids can sample too! They had a promo of 6 bottles for $24 at time of our visit. It's a cool one stop shop to to purchase various apple cider flavors and other items. The apple juice I grew up drinking has its own store with a tasting bar? Whoa I'm soo there! This is a super cool establishment as it's a store full of Martinelli's products all of which are priced normally as it's a lot of bulk products! They have a small merch section as well as a tasting bar where you're invited to choose a few flavors to try which is perfect because some of them I've never seen before! Francis was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about anything he made the experience awesome as well as being super cool to talk with! David is awesome!!! It was an interesting walk in, as we walked up we overheard a family walking out saying; "the Yelp reviews were right, that was weird." They clearly hadn't purchased anything, and they made the adults a bit nervous. When we walked in a young woman stood behind the counter. She was not very friendly and seemed a bit disinterested in helping us do a tasting. Then in walks David, and everything changed! He welcomed us immediately, was so friendly and was excited to do the tasting. He explained everything so well and made suggestions based on what we could get locally. He informed us where the apples come from and what their process is. Surprisingly some of the apples come from where we live. David was so good with the kids, listened to their questions and graciously answered. David recognized my son was into the technology and process and showed us into the factory floor and some of the machinery. The boys thought it was really cool and we appreciated his awesome service. We walked out with 6 bottles and a sweatshirt. David gave my mom an extra bottle because we're here celebrating their 50th anniversary. And he gave the boys each a little apple juice! They have merch for sale and provide a free flight of 3 chilled tastings. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. Customers may use their clean bathroom. They sell bottles of cider but you need to buy 6 that you can mix and match. I'd rather the customer buy whatever amount they want whether it's one, four or six bottles. I hear "company store" and I think to go there, I have to be indebted to my boss who pays me not in money but in vouchers redeemable only at his store. This isn't one of those places of yore. This is like a factory outlet for Martinelli's Sparkling Cider. They have more flavors of their sparkling cider than you knew existed. The apple juice. They have branded clothing and other cider-themed trinkets. They have historic displays about their history and legacy. The prices are a little lower than you might pay at the usual retail shops. It's hard to find, but signs point the way. Plenty of parking. Wheels are very smooth on the small shopping carts. I didn't try the bathroom, but it seems like they'd have 'em. And it seems like they'd be clean. Also, based on the ramped curbs from the parking lot, it seems like the bathrooms would be wheelchair accessible. Martinelli's Sparking Apple Cider has been served at every holiday in my family for decades without fail. No, this is not because my family are teetotallers (far from it, trust me). It's because Martinelli's is consistently delicious, the carbonation is absolutely perfect, and it adds a festive touch of celebration without the inebriation. So, when we were in the area on vacation, we made a point of stopping in to the factory store for a visit and a free tasting. We were treated to three free separate and generous samples of the many different types of Martinelli's (way more than I thought there were!). Our server was friendly and helpful in providing information regarding each flavor. Then, because we had picked up a flyer/coupon at our hotel, we also received a free full-size bottle of Martinelli's. Whoo-hoo! The history of Martinelli's is depcited with informational pictures on the wall, which is truly fascinating. I found out about this place thanks to my hotel room rack card, and I was very excited to visit and explore the free tasting. Let's start with the pros. There's lots of historical information in the building and cool old time pictures of the manufacturing process and business history. Now for the cons : the tasting was a bit underwhelming you get a card that has 15 different flavors of their products. You get to pick three of them to taste, in about a half a shot glass of each. Not sure what I was expecting, but not really expecting that. And then I had to ask about my free bottle of cider that I was supposed to get for doing the tasting. Do not waste your time coming here. I was so excited to visit and loved seeing the variety of flavors, but there was not much to it. We arrived right when they opened and wanted to taste test the flavors, but the woman working there was very rude and would not allow us to try anything. I thought that was the entire point of this place. We were interested in buying some of the unique flavors, but they required you to purchase six bottles at a time. My family is not that big, so we did not need six bottles, and it was not an option for us. This is a great pit stop of a road trip. The store as all you can get about Martinelli because there are no plant tours or other viewing areas. They source their apples from Watsonville locally as well as Washington state. The Watsonville supply seems to decrease as time goes by. Once you enter the store, the left side has a few old machines and some museum pictures and items from the company. To the right is a free tasting bar and all their products for sale. You can choose 3 products to taste per person, so it's great to taste more as a family to share. Our favorites are apple-mango. I also like pear cidar but didn't win a popular vote. Honey crisp cidar is not as sweet as I feared. They have a mix and match combination sale of 6 bottles for $22, which is a great way to get the less available items in supermarkets. They don't have any seasonal items, so everything in the store is available all year round. Besides cidar and juice, they also have local jam, honey and vinegar for sale. The staff in the store are very helpful and informative. We had a great experience here. Highly recommend. read more

My visit took place the Saturday before Thanksgiving 2022 and it was a lovely experience. Francisco shared warm greetings upon entering the shop. He asked if we'd like a complimentary tasting so our party of 3 chose our selections. I really enjoyed the unfiltered and the blush-flavor. There were different promotions throughout where you can buy cases of the same flavor for a discount or mix & match individual bottled flavors (6 is the magic number). The manager also asked if we needed assistance and shared the same promotions. We ended up with an odd number of bottles and didn't want to buy more than we need. Thank you nice manager for honoring the sales price for our odd numbers. Friendly staff, ample parking, large selection, looking forward to visiting again in the future. And whenever that chance came around, you could count on me to reach for that little round bottle of Martinelli's apple juice. Oh yeah. So when one of the Yelp peeps, it was either Emmett or Soo I believe, posts some pics from the Martinelli's Company store, you bookmark that ish and hope for the best. As I was driving up north to Santa Cruz, I pulled up my collections to see what bookmarks were nearby. And lo and behold, less than thirty minutes from Santa Cruz, I see there's a 4 minute detour to the Martinelli's Company Store...oh hells yeah. So boom, as soon as you enter you'll see the 6 bottles for $21 (must buy 6) special that you came here for. Don't fret, these bottles won't expire for ~2 years so you'll have plenty of time to drink them. You'll see Apple-Cran, Apple-Grape, Apple-Pear, Apple-Mango, Apple-Peach, Sparkling blush (Apple-Cherry), and more. You'll also find several unfiltered apple juices which are delicious! Well if the choices are overwhelming, not to worry, step right up to see Francisco at the tasting bar and he'll set you up right with 3 samples of your choosing. Want to try a few more, just ask Francisco and he'll be happy to pour you a few more saps. The shop is pretty cool and has a bunch of merch to choose from. If it's chilly out, they may also have the apple cider-which I highly highly recommend. You might even be able to score some free packs of mullings spices so you can make your own at home. We went on a Saturday afternoon and came away disappointed. You can't buy any single bottles, we're camping and didn't want to haul a case back. The male employee who gave us our tasting was nice, but the female employee never smiled, said hello or made us feel welcome at all. Uncomfortable is the word to describe the way she made me feel. Came away with a negative feeling towards Martinelli's instead of a good one. Don't anticipate to spend much time here, but the tasting is awesome and I enjoyed learning the history of a family favorite holiday drink. The only negative is a minimum purchase of 6 bottles is stupid. I would have happily bought a couple extra bottles with my cases if I wasn't forced to buy 6 (most people stopping by are on vacation and limited on space). Unlock it and pop it! For those of you looking to get crunk on that all ages champagne, you have reached your heaven, the Martinelli's Company Store! Watsonville is the place. If you are in the Monterey/Gilroy vicinity, Martinelli's is worth the side excursion for you and your family. The store looked simple and empty when I walked in because everything kind of looks the same but then upon closer inspection there were tons of different varieties for my picking. Every imaginable apple mix sparkler along with ones I'd never imagined. Add an Apple in front of all these sparklers: Mango Wild Berry Passionfruit Peach Pear Pomegranate Marrionberry Grape Cranberry Standalone: Blush (Sparkling) Red Grape (Sparkling) White Grape (Sparkling) Apple Juice (non sparkling) Unfiltered Apple Juice Depending on when you come, they may have some jaw dropping specials. When I was there you could get a free gallon of unfiltered apple juice just for checking in with Instagram. I picked up 12 large bottles of their normal Sparkling Apple for $15 (That's a $1.25 a bottle! Normally $3-$4 in grocery stores). I also got a case (12 bottles) of the cult followed Apple Mango for $28 that is very hard to find. And I got 6 large bottles of a limited time Sparkling Prickly Passion Lemonade for $10 just to try. There are some museum/history items, like a history of their bottle shapes and labels and medals won. For the gift part of the store, there are t-shirts, sweatshirts, totebags, kids shirts, postcards and some other things that you can pick up. Pricing on the non-beverage gifts are about average. Due to COVID there is no longer a tasting bar, but you will still receive your choice of a 10 ounce bottle of complimentary cider or sparkling cider. I went with Sparkling Apple Wild Berry for mine. The staff is helpful and very friendly and warm. The hours here (at least during COVID) are limited to 9 am - 2 pm on weekdays. Kind of sucks, but hey, if you are in the area, it is the place to stock up on your Martinelli favorites at the best prices in the world! read more

This was the best part of my trip. I love this place and look forward on coming back. It is located in an industrial part of town as it is a working factory. This is the only working factory in the world. They get their apples from all over due to the current location was taking over by the berry industry. It would have been nice to peek into the factory, maybe glass windows. Instead they posted the history of the company. It would have been nice if they had current pictures of the factory to see the process. I learned so much about the company and their affiliation with Coca Cola. Parking is plentiful. My GPS got me in front of the factory, by the public scales. I called and stated I was lost. He helped me through the confusion and in a minute I was walking through the doors. The Gift Shop is huge. The walls are filled with the history, text and pictures. They have a huge selection of drinks, clothing, water bottles, bottle openers, pencils, towels, olive oil, and more apple drinks. I tried most of them and was drawn to some more then others. My favorite was the organic grape and apple sparkling cider. You can taste the different with the non-organic. I'm not a organic person, but there was a difference. The organic one had more grape flavor and I love grape. I also got the mango apple sparkling cider. To me I loved the flavor. I could really taste the mango. To my disappointment I couldn't taste the pear in the pear one. I ended up buying the 6 for $21- 3 of each organic grape and apple sparkling cider and the mango apple sparkling cider. I also got a case of the 24.4oz apple shaped apple juice. Perfect for gifts with a package of mulling spice attached. I've had 2 of the apple juice bottles. So so so good. You have to visit this store. I think it's a must, just to learn the history and to taste more apple ciders then you knew existed. read more

Only 4/5 because the tasting area was temporarily closed due to COVID which was understandable. This store was pretty nice and clean. Offered quite a selection of drinks, some I haven't seen in stores such as the the blood-orange apple flavor. Bought cases of the small apple juice bottles, a case of the sparkling white grape and a case of the sparkling blush which were delicious especially when they are really cold. As a longtime fan of Martinelli's beverages, I stopped here to see where it all begins, but came away disappointed. The displays on the company's history were interesting and generally informative, but the staff seemed preoccupied and indifferent to visitors during one recent afternoon. Rather than offering visitors samples of favorite or new products, everything seemed shutdown soon after lunchtime, hours before closing. Rather than being able to see any of the sparkling cider being produced or bottled, visitors have to settle for watching a video on a small TV while standing up. Visitors wishing to buy bottles to try are required to buy at least six bottles (or some of the many cases available), and the bottles' prices are about the same as at local supermarkets. read more

I grew up drinking Martinellis apple juice. Its the best! I was so sad that Costco in Gilroy has stopped carrying the round juices since before covid. When I came in here I asked them why it isnt sold at Costco anymore. She said it is in most Costcos. So I guess I will have to ask Costco what the deal is next time I go. I was going to buy a flat of the round juices for $22, (24 juices) but the lady showed me they were having a deal on the 12 flats for $8 each, they just have a different label, but same juice. So I got 4 and saved some money. So now I know just to come directly here for the juice. Actually around the same cost at Costco, but they haven't had in stock. The store isn't very big. We have enjoyed all their wonderful juices for years and it was interesting to visit the store and learn something about the production of apple juices. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, telling us all about the history of Martinelli's and the region as well as recommending a fabulous local spot for breakfast! The Martinelli's Company store is a voyage through time and taste. As you enter the establishment, you can see the walls lined up with portraits of historical moments in Martinelli's history, as well as a photograph of Mr. Stephen Martinelli himself. The company store has a wide variety of flavors for juices and ciders, and best believe they are sparkling! This place had flavors I had never seen before. So I decided to purchase a case of the Sparkling Apple-Wild Berry Juice, super refreshing. While you're there, feel free to ask for a tasting sesh at their tasting bar. You will feel as if you are lounging on the vineyards of Napa Valley. In addition to juices and cider, they also have plenty of merch for Martinelli's fans, so pick up some swag.
