I hired these people to build two fences on one property. It was supposed to be finished by May, but they didn't get to the site until July. They somehow managed to get into a fight with the neighbor, never finished the job, and still owe me $3,600 for deposit. Every effort I have made to contact them has been ignored. They built my fence, but within 4 months the door started to bend/curl. I tried getting a hold of Elias to prime/paint my fence SEVERAL times, but he wouldn't get back with me on a date!! First 2-3 times he said he forgot, then he said he's sick, I tried contacting him again, but no answer. I literally have to follow-up with him constantly...customers should never have to do that!! read more

Mr. Martinez was hired to do a small job on my property. After starting the job, he disappeared. I had to hunt him down to complete the job he was already paid to do. His crew left an appalling amount of trash on my property. They were careless, leaving overspray on my fence, my house, my ceramic pots, my grill, etc. They also left a huge amount of over pour around the entire cement patio necessitating I hire a second contractor to clean up the nightmare of a mess Mr. Martinez left me with. I highly recommend you choose a contractor other than Martinez brother. They are unreliable, unpredictable, and will leave you with more work than they complete. read more

Rollow up to my review of 8-10-17L I had to hire another company to fix the mess. This is how I discovered Elias had only used one screw at top & bottom of boards, which will allow the boards to curl over time. Given my experience, I would not hire this company again. read more

I was happy to have Eli and his crew come and put up a cedar fence for us. Unfortunately, the quality of work, in my opinion is not a professional. the spaces between the ceder boards are all over. There are small sliver pieces that are used to fill spaces, the length of the boards are not level across the bottom of the fence. I have sent the owner a few text messages, which have gone unanswered, about the issues and possible resolution. **update 7/13/16. The Owner, presumably after reading my review, sent his crew over to fix the issues with the fence. ** update 9/23/17. One year later, I woke up and found my $6,000 fence lying on the ground. I took a look and it appears that no screws were used to secure the main fence board to the posts. If you are thinking about hiring Ely, please send me your email and I will send pictures of "workmanship" of my fence. I am also willing to send my address so you can see for yourself the quality of work of this company. It is so bad, I am debating taking legal action. read more

Eli was very responsive to a request to repair our fence which partially blew down during a recent wind storm. Turns out the original contractor/home builder went cheap on setting the posts which allowed moisture to rot away the pressure treated center post. Martinez Bros came out quickly and did a wonderful job setting the post correctly (with enough concrete to keep moisture away from the base), repaired the top-cap, reset the fence, and charged a reasonable rate. Very happy with the result! read more

The original job took over two months when Mr Martinez had told me it would take a week or two. The workmanship is extremely poor: The side fence metal posts were not set vertical. The fence boards used were not sanded. Workers poured excess concrete in the garden and covered the base and roots of a tree and shrub. The old fence posts not fully removed and remain a hazard. Some of the screws missed the board or post entirely and ill placed screws split some of the boards. Some boards were cut too short and do not reach the posts that should secure them. The two gates Mr Martinez's crew built were barely functional and quickly failed. I have had to replace a gate and partially rebuild the second gate. One gate was too heavy for the hinges used and it's latch filed. It warped within a week or two and it could only be opened or closed with difficulty. It hung crooked. The second gate could not be opened easily because the tree close to it that I paid Mr Martinez to remove, was not fully removed. The materials used for the fence and both gates are so poor that I have been told by several experienced builders it will not last 10 years, even with adequate prep and staining. Many boards warped within days of being put up. Mr Martinez did replace some of the worst of them but many more have since needed replacing. read more

We had Martinez Brothers construct a beautiful cedar fence at our Summit Lake cabin. I had to make a change in the original scope of work I sent to them and they were easy to work with on that and the changes were easily incorporated in the construction. I paid professional price for the fence, I was given every promise it would be. Unfortunately that was not the case. Fence had panels not even screwed down or they used two screws to hold it all together. Fence was not level to the eye. So I called for some rework and never got a reply. I finally received an excuse why he never called back and was told he'd come by to take a look then again no response. Just a Note to any one looking, don't pay his prices it's not backed up with the quality and service you would expect. read more
