Prestigious Martinhal resort is truly the best family-friendly in Portugal. Stunning position overlooking the Atlantic in the front and backing by a protected natural park. They offer a wide range of sports and leisure facility, heated swimming pools(5), a zen-spa and a surf bar. 5 different kids' clubs covering age groups from 6months all way to teenagers. This is a surfers heaven. Prince Harry's surfing school which is about a few minutes away. Temperature is between 45F to 85F all year around. I can so see myself enjoying family-friends time here. This resort is incredible. The beach is home to the nicest swim I've ever had in an ocean. Clear cool water, calm as a lake, and a gorgeous sweeping beach. The place is genius by design. It's as close to a romantic getaway you'll find anywhere with your kids in tow. Delightful and fairly upscale restaurants with great food that also have adjacent playgrounds. On one side of a glass wall, you enjoy a nice relaxing dinner with your loved one. On the other side of the glass wall, your kids jump on trampolines. The occasional fuss bucket appears in the restaurant, but since almost everyone at the resort has kids under the age of 8, everyone rolls with it. Our ocean suite was incredible. This place is gorgeous and so relaxing, considering the number of small children running around. My wife and I couldn't believe how much time to ourselves we got. There are programs for children every day, and our kids absolutely loved it there. I wouldn't recommend this place for travelers without kids in their party. read more

This is a 5* family resort. They make traveling with kids easy - cribs, high chairs, potty training toilets are all provided. The restaurants have plenty of high chairs. There certainly is no dearth of kid related activities either! Only downside is that the one bedrooms are little dirty and have not been updated. Location is amazing - right on the beach! read more
