Was referred here for repair. Charged my insurance company for repair that was not performed! Not trustable.

Very disorganized. One might go as far as to say "a MESS" Was given Job here; Stilllll waiting for Jack Martino to honor his word & PAY me though. In business since the 1950s.... I have had several repairs done by this firm (cars + truck). The staff is polite and efficient. Their excellent customer service skills are an absolute marker of their core fairmindedness. I paid for all the repairs out of my own pocket. In the future I shall be happy to return to Martino Brothers because I know they'll give me a good price, and most importantly excellent value for money. Plus they are nice and understanding too. In December 2020, we had a minor car accident that resulted in us requiring service from an autobody shop. Specifically, dented exterior and paint scratching. Our car has a matte paint finish that only a select few auto shops could do. We received the name of auto shops that were qualified from our insurance company and went about our research. The reviews for Martinos were relatively good and after speaking with the owner who guaranteed us that they were the best qualified for the job, we agreed on price and a time frame (4 days). I would like to start by saying what was good: · The Martino brothers staff and owner are friendly, courteous and you really get the family vibe which we were immediately drawn to. · Eventually, (after a lot of back and forth) the paint job turned out well. What went bad/needs major improvement: · When we were first called to pick up the car, it was in very shoddy condition. Specifically, the paint was a different shade and texture to rest of the car, there were scratches in places we didn't previously have scratches which we addressed in the moment and the mechanic on sight agreed and suggested we return to have a 'gloss' put on the paint. We needed the car that evening so we planned to return on the Monday as suggested. On our drive home, there was a draft blowing in the car and a loud whistling sound that was not there previously and we observed that the door that had been worked on was misaligned. · We returned the car and shared our observations regarding the car. The Martino brothers fixed the paint (which took almost a week) and communicated that they realigned the door so the air blowing in the car had stopped. The indicated that the new whistling sound that we were experiencing was a 'coincidence' and suggested we go to another mechanic as they did not know how to diagnose or fix it. This is going on 3 weeks later at this point. After a lot of back and forth, no responsibility taken, hard to get a return phone call we decided to go to another garage. The other garage confirmed where the sound was, and shared with us that it occurred on the side the Martino Brothers had worked on. They had left a clip loose that was letting air in causing a whistling sound. We had it fixed in 2 days with other garage. · Up to this day, we have never had a call or follow up from the Martino brothers. They left us in limbo after we paid in full. We have used another shop in the past and had zero complaints. Unfortunately, we paid in full to Martino brothers, my husband lost many hours going back and forth to the shop and leaving voicemails with no return. Overall, the most stressful car repair experience as well as the longest. Very frustrating to pay full price for the poor service. It is safe to say we will never take our car there again and I sincerely cannot recommend Martino brothers to anyone. I really do not like having to say that about a smaller business as we typically strive especially during these difficult times to support smaller business owners. read more

I was referred to Martino Brothers Collision by my insurance company years ago. Since then I changed many insurance companies , but remained loyal to Martino Brothers. Every time there is a damage on my car I know there is nothing to worry, because my car is in the good hands. Jack and his team are amazing. Highly professional, honest, friendly and always deliver the best performance in a very timely manner. It is always a pleasure to visit the shop and get treated like VIP. I went there, as my insurance company (Pem bridge) urge to go Martino Brothers(Dundas) for repair driver side door paint and replace doorknob. Firstly I visit to Martino for estimation and they report it to insurance company. I bring my car next Monday and they said it will be ready at Thursday. When I visit there at Thursday they said it is not finished due to they got wrong parts from dealer shop, then postpone to Friday. It starts to keep postpone. Friday to Monday... Wednesday... They got wrong parts 3 times and then they said they can`t find correct parts from dealer shop and have to wait without any schedule. During the time I took rental vehicle and given that I have $1000 deductible opted to have their insurance. When I complained their late procedure, it seems they don`t have any pressure and hurry, even they said it will be covered by insurance then it is nothing loss for me. I realized why the insurance fee is always expensive. I was very surprised such a long business history repair shop don`t have responsibility and never know supply management and no professional spirit. At last I got my car repaired for 3weeks. Fur the more I found some of my leather seat has stained. If I have to repair my car other times, I`ll never follow up insurance company and strongly recommend Martino Brothers is not place to repair your beloved car. Went in today because I thought I had bird shit on my Jeep hood but when I went to wash it off it just got worse. Jack was great. He had a look at it and told me it was iron deposits leaking from my parking garage either at home or work and said he could have it fixed in 15 minutes. True to his word he got it out and my hood looks like nothing was wrong with it anymore. Bonus points that he didn't charge me for a full hour of labour like a lot of shops would but gave me a deal and only charged for the 15 minutes it took to fix. Would definitely go back again. read more

The rear bumper of my car was damaged in a fender bender. They first needed the car in to inspect it, then booked an appointment to drop it off maybe a week later on a Monday and it would be ready in the same week on Friday. Monday, dropped the car and they said Wednesday or latest Thursday for pick up. Great. Wednesday called to get an idea of pick up and they confirmed they hadn't even ordered the parts. Friday called, they'd just ordered the parts, can't say when they're to be delivered. It's now been a week and apparently the parts are arriving soon? Who knows when this will be resolved. Happy that my former mechanic was able to retire, sad cause he would have this work done in one day. Would not recommend read more

I had a rather minor damage on my BMW rear bumper and my insurance sent me to Martino Bros. @ 3379 Dundas St. in Toronto. Initially Martino Bros. recommended to remove the bumper, do a partial paint job and put the ORIGINAL bumper back on ... so far so good .... THEN Martino Bros. told me once the original bumper comes off it cannot be put back on the car b/c of way it's designed ( the truth is Martino Bros. BROKE the 4 clips on the sides) I called BMW Canada HQ and they told me that Martino Bros is WRONG. BMW said if Martino is an BMW authorized shop (which they claim they are) this should NOT have happened. They should be able to fix the ORIGINAL bumper and put it back on. WHY would my insurance recommend a shop that's NOT CAPABLE of repairing BMWs? The cost of fixing my car ended up being 1600.- (new bumper) as opposed to 650.- (partial paint job - original bumper). Now we know why insurance rates are so high !!! My advise: don't go to Martino Bros unless you have money to waste or don't care about the level of professionalism and quality of workmanship. read more

I as several others on this page was sent here by my insurance company (State Farm). I had already taken my vehicle to my dealership for an estimate. They quoted minor body work and paint work, said 6 days to complete and quoted $4600. I advised my insurance company of this but they pushed for me to go to Martino Bros. They told me both passenger doors had to replaced and then paintwork completed. They said it would take 7 days. I took a rental vehicle and given that I have a$1000 deductible opted to have their insurance at a cost of $12 per day. It was 3 weeks before I got the vehicle back.The work cost $8100 It looks great no denying that, however I went to my dealership as I was planning on trading it in only to be told that they are suspicious of my claim. The body shop guys said that they doubt my vehicle has had new doors put on, the paint job is okay but obvious and my vehicle has devalued by $11,000. Not what I wanted to hear and I admit I felt pretty stupid when they pointed out how often would a repair cost less at a dealership? I know but I felt pushed by the insurance company! My dealership said if at any time you are told to go to a certain car repair shop you should check with your dealership. They can ensure you will get the best care. read more

Best body shop in the world. Jack Martino was always professional, knowledgeable and friendly every time I dealt with him. I'll only let Martino Bros work on my vehicles. Been dealing with them since the early 80s and I've never had any problems or complaints. read more

I had minor damage on my rear bumper and my insurance company sent me to Martino Bros. (Junction location). They recommended removing the bumper, fixing it, and then putting it back on. They were able to complete this work promptly and in a professional manner. Based on the previous reviews, I did take photos of my car when I dropped it off. read more

Two positive experiences. First was a repair of paint scrape on my SUV. The quote was on the spot and below the dealer quote. The work was done to specifications and to the cost committed to, and it was done on time. Second instance they fixed a light for $20 and it was done fast. Great service and results. These people are untrustworthy charlatans, Quoted 1500 and then increased it to 1580 the next day. Payed for vacuum and cleaning of interior and was poorly done. Had to go back to the shop twice to get the right fender and bumper fixed, they just sanded and repainted the fender, they clear coated a unfinished repair to said fender, i was quoted for a full repair job. The bumper was decent but needed to be smoothed out near the edges as the paint was warping. I paid in cash and didn't go through insurance. Avoid as much as possible. read more

Thank you to Martino Brothers on Dundas St. for doing a amazing job on my car...it looks like a brand new car...timing was excellent and the customer service was very informative...they even had my car detailed which it took by surprised after the heavy snow fall we had this past winter... the Martino Brothers are the best...keep up the good work...I would recommend them... read more

My wife got into a fender bender with her Audi A4. There was slight damage to the front bumper, the headlight, right wheel and fender needed to be replaced and a few other miscelaneous broken supports/brackets. They charged the insurance company $7200 for this repair. For that price I was expecting the car to come back in pristine condition....I was way off. The fender doesn't line up to the hood, to the headlight, or the A pillar. There's a plastic piece that neither lines up, or was painted well. It was as if they stuck sandpaper to it and painted over the sandpaper. The seal for the windshield wasn't removed to blend the A pillar and there was paint on it. The only redeeming factor was the lack of orange peel in the paint. Under no circumstance would I take another car there for anything. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. Absolutely terrible quality and horrible service. My insurance company (Belair) sent me here for minor damage to the fender/bumper of my car. I went there one morning to drop off my car, and they had no rentals available on a Monday morning, so I had to pick up my car from the shop again and get to work (late). I dropped off my car in a special trip after they called numerous times, and got a rental. When my car was 'fixed', I noticed a red streak and dent on my door where someone had opened another car door into it. On further inspection, I discovered the car hadn't even been washed, and there was white paint overspray all over the hood. When I asked about it, they sent someone out to rub out the red paint and other scuff marks, which had not been there previously, but no manager came to talk to me or deal with the situation. After waiting a 1/2 hour, I told them they needed to take care of the dents, and the guy said that it's 'impossible to tell if the damage happened at the shop' and after I insisted the red paint was fresh, he said I 'better have the rental car back in 2 days (Thursday)' since he was paying for it while they fixed the damage they did to my car. Thursday came, and the car wasn't ready. Finally, on my fourth trip to the shop, the car was finished. The parts of the car that had been fixed were clean, but the hood and other parts were not. When I opened the door, a toxic smell seeped out and I noticed the seats, dash and all of my things I'd left in the car was covered in a white powder. They gave me tokens to use across the street to vacuum out my car, however the vaccuum was broken, so they said "if you wait 20 minutes, we'll clean your car." I was so frustruated with the whole process and their attitude that I left, however I should have let them take care of it. I mentioned the powder to a friend, he was concerned about what the white powder was and that it may actually be toxic, so I called Ralf again at Martino Bros, and he said he had no idea what it was, but if it still smelled after 2 days to call them back. I feel they tried to do a shitty job and expected me not to complain. They were not organized or accommodating, did poor quality work, left my car in a mess, and did not offer an apology or explanation. I highly reccommend NOT going to this shop, regardless of what your insurance company says. As a woman I'd definitely tell you to INSPECT and INSIST on getting quality work, and don't let them pass you off. Be pushy and demanding - you probably still won't get what you want, but if you're lucky your car might come back with less damage than when it went in. TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY. read more
