They serve a pretty good try on Italian like entrées. We have been here two other times. Not sure what made us try a third time. Maybe it was for the entertainment. They pull in some real talent. The restaurant itself seems like a popular place from other reviews. Each time we go I want it to be so amazing.....just the idea of a real Italian restaurant sounds fantastic.. But the food they serve must come from a region in Italy I've never heard of. My advice to you is drive on into Shrevport, or even maybe all the way to Alexandria and go to Verona's. Unbelievable food! I was so happy to have found this place. My daughter-in-law is expecting her first child and all she was craving was Italian food. Great choice here. The food was fresh, plentiful, and tasty. The gnocchi was cooked and then sautéed (I'm assuming). It had a crispy outer section that was a great surprise. The side of meatballs were cooked through and through. Sometimes a larger meatball won't be completely done on the inside. Not here-it was cooked but still juicy. The restaurant is clean. If I could give no stars I would. I went a few years ago and the service, ambiance, and food was amazing. 2024....it was poor at best. The restaurant smelled like a smokehouse, it was so strong. My eyes were on fire from the smoke in the building by the time we left. Server was in and out, spent much time looking around the restaurant for her. The food was the worst part. I had shrimp Alfredo and it looked great, but tasted like lake water...a sip from Toledo bend is equivalent to ordering their Alfredo....i get shrimp is fishy but...the noodles were so overcooked they were mush... My husband got spaghetti...easy meal but it tasted like water with a hint of tomato. When mixing the spaghetti together there was a layer of water under the noodles... For 66.00 I could've really had a feast at McDonald's and it wouldn't been 10x better. read more

Service was mediocre. It was VERY loud. Food was overpriced for what it was. My partner ordered the pork chop and it was overcooked and dry.

Wow! This has a nice relaxed atmosphere. There are a couple of TVs over the bar with ball games and news on to watch. You can see the brick oven from the dining area. Our waitress was very attentive and refilled our drinks several times. The dishes we ordered were: Hen Pecked Pizza - easily best pizza ever! Lots of flavor, Alfredo based with drizzled white sauce over top Pepperoni Pizza - a solid pepperoni pizza Penne el Pesto - so delicious! Shrimp and Grits - very good with a different twist, not your traditional dish We will definitely be returning here with our family. This place is phenomenal. Crazy to think it is located right in the middle of a small town in Louisiana. Fantastic food, wonderful service, and a great environment. You won't be disappointed. The food was amazing here. They had a wood fire oven for the pizzas. The atmosphere was very aesthetic nice dim lighting to where you can still see but it is comfortable and cozy. Perfect for a date night. The menu was a little pricey but the food was well worth it. We tried the mozzarella balls, the marinara served with them was very good, a little heat on the end but not overpowering. We got a classic pepperoni pizza, it was good, but nothing special, on par for a traditional pepperoni pizza. And we also tried the Hen Pecked and that pizza was definitely something to talk about. I don't usually go for an Alfredo sauce pizza but I was looking to try something different. The pizza was very balanced and wasn't dripping in Alfredo which made it very enjoyable. It could have been cooked a tad bit more, but that's just a personal preference. We also tried the chicken parm and it was one to remember. The chicken was well cooked and seasoned. And the breading was soft and crispy but not hard. The sauce I believe was the same marinara as that was served with the mozzarella balls. The chicken parm was served on top of a plate of spaghetti pasta. The only thing I would change is that the pasta itself was not tossed in sauce, it was just a bed of plain pasta. Then the chicken on top and they topped that with marinara. I ended up having to ask for more sauce because the noodles were dry. I would have liked to see the pasta sautéed in the sauce or even just some sauce in between a layer of pasta, as to prevent the chicken from getting soggy but also the noddles not being dry after you eat all the chicken. I also ordered their Cosmopolitan martini it was $12, on the high end of average for price in my hometown, but worth the price. That was probably one of the best restaurant Cosmos I've had! Kudos to the bartender! There was live music and the artist was very good, it was just a little loud. Felt like we were yelling at each other across the table. I would probably just turn the speakers down a tad, the waitress seemed to struggle to hear us as we ordered as well. There was outdoor seating that was covered and they had a rooftop patio, but it was blocked off when we visited. The only gripe we had was that our server could have been a little more attentive, felt like we were asking for things repeatedly but never got them. Drinks took quite a long time to get if they showed up. You could blame that on her being busy or the music being so loud that she didn't hear so it wasn't a big deal. Also because of the wood oven you will absolutely leave smelling like a campfire, so you might want to plan to eat outside if you have other plans after eating and don't want to stink lol. read more

My husband and I were on a drive and ended up in this small town. There are not a lot of restaurants and many were closed on a Sunday afternoon. So we chose this place. We ordered mozzarella bites and a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was delicious. I love a wood fired pizza. They needed better ventilation for the smoke though. They had to prop the front door open. The cheese bites were tasty but the breading was actually a little spicy. They seemed to have a lot of employees for the number of clients that were there. But we did overhear them say it was a little slow. Overall it was good but it was a little pricey. I would recommend it if you are in the area. read more

For starters it's been here 100 years and it feels like it. It's down in a hole with no cell phone service and they don't offer free wifi to their customers. They can't make half pizzas with red and white sauce, they use simple syrup, sugar and water for margaritas. I mean need I go on? Sweet and sour with lime juice ok. But simple syrup. As a nightclub owner I just smiled and drank my "lemonade" with a splash of tequila. We've lived here one year this month and finally ventured out to Martone's. Unfortunately it's not on my recommended list. It's dirty, dark, and loud. You would think after 100 years in business they would have upgraded things and catered to the customer a little bit. Nope. Not this place. I doubt we'll ever be back and I won't recommend it to any guests. It was July 3, 2025 and a huge disappointment. Such a shame. If I was younger I'd give them a run for their money. The food was delicious! We ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms to start, and the cheese they use to stuff them was so good! The sauce they came in was great too! We actually ordered some bread to sop it up! I ordered the Shrimp Piccata. I've never had it before, and I was attracted to the capers and artichoke, and I'm so glad I ordered this! The sauce was deliciously tart and full of flavor. I'll get it again after I try a few other dishes I'm interested in trying. My dad ordered the Veal Parmesan, and it was delicious too! The Veal was a little tough, but the sauce was a slam dunk in my dad's book. I also enjoyed the bite he gave me! I'm a little sad I had access to an old menu, because I wanted to try their salted caramel dessert, but they apparently haven't served that in a long time.... so, we got a cannoli! When we first move here we were interested in trying Martones. We were pleasantly surprised with the very clean and stylish decor. The food was good too - for the first few times we went. My mom came to visit and we took her there - well, the food was so terribly overly salted that we couldn't finish it. To the point that it was painful to eat, it almost burned!!!! I had to tell the server who let the chef know who then proceeded to come out and stare at us from behind the bar....lol - Took the left overs home only to try to reheat them with water but the salt was cooked into the pastas. We didn't go for months, then decided to give another chance. They have live music on Saturdays which we have enjoyed before. The food was better that time but not great. Took a few months break again (maybe they'd get a new chef) and we just got back and again the let down of waaaayy overly salted food. Idk if the chef smokes cigarettes (Cigarettes tend to dull your sense of taste) - or doesn't try his food, but the pesto sauce tasted like salt. Couldn't taste anything else, no pesto no garlic, nothing!!! The meatballs were over salted as was the sauce they came in. Big bummer. They also don't have fresh ground pepper or fresh Parmesan offered. Which a higher end Italian place should always have! It's like they're so close to being awesome, but the few details and the over salted food keeps them down on the list. Its too bad because we really wanted to love it and support small locals businesses. We drive 35 mins to go here. And it's been a let down too often to keep coming back. I wish I had taken a picture of my meal. I ordered the Chicken Saltinbocca and it was amazing! My chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for! We had their Fried Cheese as a started and they were so flavorful! Their marinara was amazing!! I also ordered the Tiramisu and felt as though I'd died and gone to heaven! Our third trip proved to be quite a pleasant surprise! Our menu choices included the meatball appetizer, a child's portion of spaghetti and meat sauce, pasta salad, and the veal parmesan. The meatball was large enough for two (conservatively) to get things rolling. The child's portion of spaghetti was generous and came with two flavorful slices of garlic bread. Veal's just-right "crust" was fried to perfection and the accompanying spaghetti and sauce were equally as nice in texture and flavor. There was a delightfully buttery flavor to all of the spaghetti which really brought out the tomato flavor. The sauce was not a canned sauce and was robust with meat pieces. Topped with fresh parsley, the presentation was spot on. The pasta salad is ALWAYS great and there's plenty! The entire experience was very good AND THIS WAS TAKE-OUT!! Surprise!! read more

Bottom line up front is this was the worst experience I've had in a restaurant in a long time. First of all they have not system to seat new customers. Two other groups were seated ahead of us with the same number in the party and they arrived after us. Second when we were finally seated the table was literally underneath the speaker of the live band. My wife's head was two feet away from it. We ordered an appetizer that never came even though we asked about it multiple times. Although it showed up on the bill and we had to ask to have it removed. The main course was ok for the location although it was hard to enjoy it with the live music blaring in our ears. It also was the first time I ever left an Italian restaurant still hungry. I will not be visiting Martone's in Many, LA again and I would recommend to anyone else to make the trip elsewhere and you will be much happier Oh also I ordered a beer and was never asked if I wanted another. The day has come. Many, Louisiana has finally gotten the amazing restaurant it has needed for years. Friends of mine had reassured me time and again that Martone's was all that. Me, I was a bit skeptical. When I walked in, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Our friendly waitress took our drink orders and brought the drinks back quickly. Once we had ordered our entrees, she arrived with garlic breadsticks. They were phenomenal. I was super impressed with everything I ate from the pizza to the pasta to the salad. Where do I begin?? This little hole in the wall Italian restaurant is a true gem. And it really isn't little at all. Plenty of seating inside and from the looks of it, outdoor seating is on the way. We're in from Dallas visiting friends in Natchitoches and they decided to take us to Martones for dinner. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, you could smell the aroma of the food cooking in the kitchen. I knew right away this was my kind of place. I had the Mama's Lasagna as well as an iced tea and fried cheese for an appetizer. It didn't take much for me to clean my plate. I even made sure to leave room the Italian chocolate mousse which was delish! All the food really was amazing and the wait staff was equally amazing. We even got to talk to the owner who was very appreciative of our positive comments about his food and was genuinely happy that we were there. If you haven't tried this place, you need to. My wife and I ate at Martone's for the first time this weekend. The service and our entrees were excellent! We look forward to dining there again. I should add, however, for the many concerned about COVID, that none of the employees were wearing masks.
