He cited he would not see my brother due what he called a conflict of interest with the VA, having worked there and spoke unkindly about their reputation. Although disappointing this was direct and helpful. When I asked for a referral he said to do my homework in finding out of area Psychologists in Seattle, Portland and other metropolitan areas. When I mentioned my brother has mobility issues and logistics would be difficult I experienced agitation and impatience from him, raising his voice, talking over me and not allowing me to speak, citing I am not willing to do what it takes to help my brother. Astounding. It is my baseline expectation that a therapists emotional intelligence be developed enough to not shout at a prospective client or family. I would be careful in engaging services with this therapist if this is the way he shows up.

What the reviews don't say is Dr. Morrell is often called upon as an expert witness by the courts to testify in cases such as those involving child custody, diminished mental capacity, etc. He has been an advocate for both defendants and the prosecution and exhibits unquestionable professional ethics. What is reflected in these negative reviews are unwarranted attacks by individuals who were affected by Dr. Morrell's professional testimony and chose this forum to vent. As far as my experience goes, I find Dr. Morrell's treatment to be individualized, compassionate, and effective. If you are looking for a cookie cutter, 12 steps works for everyone therapist, then perhaps he is not your man. For everyone else, I cannot recommend him high enough.

After my wife missed an appointment for reasons related to our daughter's condition, after they prescribed her medication then released my wife from their care without a notice in the mail that we ever received.I reached out to them when they didn't respond to my wife for a week. An administrator named Shannon Ryan then called my wife. During the call, my wife became very upset, as she felt the conversation was handled insensitively. The administrator stated that we were responsible for not receiving a certified letter about my wife's discharge.I was disappointed by how the administrator spoke to my wife, especially given her mental health struggles. It was distressing to see her so upset after the call. If there's a state form to report concerns about patient care, I'd like to look into it.We've decided not to recommend this organization and plan to seek behavioral health services elsewhere. I intend to share our experience with the appropriate channels.

I want to talk about the group classes here a little bit because they are so awesome! In the classes she guides and teaches us how to do energy clearing, energy healing, meditation, channel energy, medicine wheel, intuitive development, etc. I really enjoy the classes because we are all able to learn new things/tools from Nancy and from each other. We receive different perspectives from each other, and learn how each of us perceives our thoughts/mind, energy, letting go/holding on, healing, creativity, suffering, pain, patterns, inner child, etc and how we handle, overcome, practice, strategize, and utilize all these different areas in our lives. It really opens up your mind to so many different aspects and teaches me new ways to look at things; A better understanding of people, life, ourselves, and spirituality. I like these classes because they are like a support system and offer tools to a better life. In this world it's good to have lots of spiritual tools to help guide you! My 96 year old mother, Gladys Penny, was a nursing care patient at Avamere on Stevens in Medford…read morefor over a month for physical recovery and therapy and nursing care, after several hospital stays with many medical issues for over 3 months, as well as onset dementia. She was not an easy patient to manage for both psychological and medical reasons, and even called Medford Police 911 about 20 times telling them she was being held against her will and more. We worked with her Nurse Director of Health Care, Laurie, and their FNP started treating mother with a drug to manage her dementia/paranoia and we finally had to remove her phones, because Medford Police were a bit peeved to say the least and thought of arresting her at one point lol. I am giving this facility 5 stars because they were able to work professionally and for the most part patiently under trying conditions. Their nursing and physical therapists were very professional and Penny had physically and medically improved when she left Avamere Health. And while my mother was often a bit critical, verbally aggressive and not in her right mind, even she sang the praises of her nurses and therapists. I will also say that my mother did consistently say that the FOOD WAS GREAT, especially breakfast, and admitted to me that they did take care of her ... I might add, in spite of insults and temper tantrums. Those friends of hers who visited her on a regular basis did agree that Avamere Health was a good facility for Penny and we agreed.
