NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MARTY WRIGHT TO ANY BUYER LOOKING FOR A HOME!!!! My experience with Marty Wright Home Sales for a new manufactured home has been a nightmare from start to still not finished. We paid the down payment for the purchase of our home in September 2024, since the closing was pushed several times--first in October, then after Christmas, in February, and again in April. WE CLOSED MAY 2025!! Then the delivery and setup were plagued by incompetence and delays, and from the home we have seen so far, the quality of the product is a serious disappointment for the purchase price. First, the original promised completion date was pushed back by more than three months with no clear communication. Our sales representative, Victor/Destiny, repeatedly gave us false timelines, and it was nearly impossible to get a straight answer on our home's status. Then we were transferred from Lumberton sales to Chadbourn sales due to the sales representative Destiny changing positions to Chadbourn, which has not gotten better because Destiny quit, and now we're still in limbo a year later. If all of this isn't bad enough that their product doesn't meet their promise of quality, the manufacturer, Sunshine, has failed to hold their responsibility to complete construction. Their excuse... their construction crew is comprised of Hispanics to complete the interior and siding of the home. The Hispanics are afraid to come to NC due to ICE and therefore can't complete construction of our home. Their employee issues are not the buyer's problem!!! TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEE ISSUES!!! Although it has been delivered, it still sits there empty and incomplete. This buying experience has truly been a nightmare from start to still not finished. And we haven't even made it to the punch list. I can't imagine the support being much better than the service we've received to this point. If I had it all to do over, I would never have chosen Marty Wright. They talk a good game but don't follow up! Marty Wright has not offered any compensation of good will to this point... only to say YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EXTRA COST INCURRED!!! THEIR FAULT OR NOT... I absolutely DO NOT recommend Marty Wright homes in Lumberton. I had a TERRIBLE experience with them. Here are some facts. 1) First time I visited them, first thing they did was having me pick a home without even asking any information about my finances or anything else. Then they had me fill an application for a home and pay 1000$ which they assured me was refundable (I had them write this statement on my receipt). 2) From there, they basically send me text or called me every single day to pressure me to buy a house and sign papers, to the point where they made me miss work to come sign papers, even though not all the proper documents were sent to the bank for the loan. 3) I had to have them correct the bank paperwork THREE times. 4) On top of that, they had told the bank I was a US citizen, even after making very clear that I was not and sending them a copy of my passport+VISA. Of course that caused issues with the bank. 5) The entire time, no one is explaining me anything about the process, the home paperwork or the bank paperwork. I have to constantly be researching and asking people questions after questions after questions. 6) During the entire process, I have several people from the same office constantly reaching out to me to ask me the EXACT SAME QUESTION the EXACT SAME DAYS because there is no communication between any of those people. 7) They promised me three different homes which every time got sold to a different family. They ended up asking the factory to build one for me, without even consulting me prior to that AND I had told them from day one I wanted to buy a house that was ALREADY built so I could visit it and also for sake of time/delays. 8 ) Eventually, the bank had my last document and cancelled the loan, which means the home sale got cancelled. All of that because Marty Wright rushed everyone to sign papers without doing things properly in the right order. They had told me I would get back all my money, but of course this is three months after and now they went RADIO silent, I still don't have all my money back, and when I nicely reach out to them they straight up tell me I'm rude and don't give me my money back. read more
