The Ligia Prvida No. 9 specifically is a very sweet cigar. I taste the espresso, dark chocolate, pepper but immediately afterwards the taste has a light sugar/syrup thing. In the beginning your going to taste some pepper and dark espresso but after the taste is cream, sweet. As the cigar continues more in the midpoint it balances out so it feels more warmer, baking doughy, hints of cinnamon, dried fruit, molasses? I'm talking notes and hints. Definitely dried fruit and baking spices for me. The cigar is a connecticut broadleaf wrap so if you end up liking the taste of this cigar, return and try more conneticut broadleaf type cigars-- ask Charlie or Woody the owner to help you! I came into this shop looking for a gift and needed some recommendations. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman and he showed me a few options that might fit the preferences of my gift recipient. The selection at Marty's is HUGE and through my conversation with the gentleman, I learned quite a bit about the different sizes, shapes, and production process of cigars. I ended up buying a variety of cigars and they included a small box to present the gift. The cigar shop is also a lounge where you can sit and enjoy a cigar while hanging out there. What a cool, secret spot!! If you smoke cigars, or need one for a gift, this place is it! It's like walking into a huge humidor (I love the smell of cigars!) Floor to ceiling walls FILLED with cigars! Huge overstuffed chairs, big screen tv, nice lounging atmosphere. I don't smoke, but love to hang there while my son shops. Came in a week ago and it was my first time in a cigar shop, as I was just introduced to cigars by a couple of friends. Walking in, the place looked overwhelming, with thousands upon thousands of sticks along the walls. Woody saw me came in and told him that I was totally new and had no idea what I was looking for. He gave me a recommendation and I went with it. He proceeded to cut it for me and showed me where the torches were, bagged it up and I was on my way. I just want to preface this review by saying I know absolutely nothing about cigars I have been checking out a lot of businesses in Glendora Village because my barber moved to the area and this shop is so cool! I heard about it from some people at the barbershop and finally stopped by today. I came in for a gift, I wanted to add a cigar to one of my secret Santa gifts. I had no idea what to buy or how much I would be spending so I went in with zero expectations. I walked in, and there were two gentleman smoking cigars in their lounge area. The place is very dark and obviously smells like tobacco. I could see how it could be overwhelming for some but also what do you expect at a cigar shop haha! The two gentlemen let me know that the shop person was in the back and would be right out. He only took about 2 minutes and I looked around a little. There was a table with really nice empty boxes for $3 and I purchased one cause I couldn't help it, it was so nice! They also have a fridge with refreshments I'm assuming for patrons cause it was by the door. There is a large cigar wall and some by the door as well. They have a case with pipes that were so cool! When Woody came out he introduced himself and helped me pick a decently priced cigar so quickly. He checked us out, shook our hands, and let us know he was always there for us. I visited Marty's because I needed a travel humidor and a cigar for a golf raffle prize. I don't know much about cigars or humidors. Woody was very kind. Even though the place was busy, he took the time to help me pick out the perfect gift. He described the merchandise and picked out a cigar that he knew a cigar smoker would love, and I didn't have to spend a lot of money. I paired it with some whiskey, and the prize was a hit. Had a amazing experience here. I came in on Thursday late afternoon looking for a gift for my friend who loves cigars. I wasn't sure what I was looking for but was able to find one cigar he likes, "El Rey Del Mundo". The older gentleman at the front was extremely helpful. Told him what my friend likes & my budget. We came to Marty's cigar because we are looking to host a cigar bar at our wedding. Charlie was super helpful, he asked questions about our likes dislikes and budget. Best Cigar Lounge in San Gabriel Valley! A great selection of cigars and pipe tobacco. Very friendly and knowledgeable service . I let them know what i might be interested in flavor wise, they gave me many recommendations and answered all my questions. It was a very good first experience and ive been going to them ever since. Great place to try out for cigars if you're in the area. Purchased roughly over $500. worth of merchandise. What I didn't like, was that I was told the butterfly cigar cutter was $99. and that the person that I was talking to would discount it to $89. However, when he retrieved the box from the back, you could see that the price tag had been on the bottom of the box forever at $89. So I'm puzzled since that was a bit confusing. Some of the cigars were really great, however the cherry flavored $39 cigar that I purchased for a friend's birthday appeared to be of lesser value. My friend has obtained his cigars online for the past 10 years and said that I paid way to much for that $39. cigar. But it is what it is. The pipe that I purchased was nice. I'd come back if I was in the area, but online prices are a little bit cheaper. But if you're in a hurry they do have a nice selection.
