I bought a shot glass (they had better, less touristy selections) and an impulse-buy "Cupcake Bites" container. The Cupcake Bites are interesting. I'm not sure if I like them or not. They have a certain taste that makes me suspicious of them while still wanting to keep eating them. But it's a sportswear shop... what else could you expect? I take stars off because of the cashier experience. I asked if there was anything that the shot glass could be wrapped in, and he said yes and handed me the paper, rather than wrapping it for me. There's nothing particularly wrong with this, it just is bad form that kind of bothered me. The cashier also seemed disinterested and unhappy. Marty is da man!!! Amazing stuff, unique items that you can't purchase anywhere on the boards, and fantastic prices! Glad I found this place my first night on the boards. All of my souvenirs came from Marty's this year from the t shirts, to the sweat shirts to the leach tag wall plaques for every year I have spent on the boards. I will miss this place when I go home but because of Marty's I will be taking something home to remember it. read more

As long as I remember coming to OC we have always visited Marty's. As a teenager my parents always let me buy a bathing suit the first day of vacation, Marty's always had an amazing selection. Today was absolutely the last time I will set foot in there. I've walked past three times since arriving on vacation with my own family admiring a "Traveling Penny" bracelet in the window. When I went in the store this evening, I asked for the bracelet in the window and was directed to a display case with many of them in it. Unfortunately, the one I wanted wasn't in the case. I asked the woman behind the counter if she could get the bracelet from the window for me, she replied that it was too busy for her to get something from the window display. What? How disappointing. This place is HORRIBLE. I asked one simple question about their light up balloon outfront of their store and the owner of the store gave me attitude. I tired to explain to the owner of the store about how i tried to ask one question and how she was being rude to me and my friends and she put her hands on me and was very aggressive and then continued to record me after i was telling her what was wrong about her actions. I've always loved Marty's and have considered it a go to place in OCNJ ever since I was a kid! The prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is friendly and personable, and the selection is very cute and of high quality. There is also a nice selection of jewelry, much of which is priced higher at other locations. I would totally recommend this store to anyone down at the shore! read more

By far, the BEST place on the boardwalk to find good quality T-shirts at a great price! The only other decent place (Ocean Breeze) charges a lot more.... And Marty ALWAYS talks to the customers. I never go to OCNJ without stopping into Marty's. read more
