Vlad was very responsive when we requested a quote and to all my texts regarding the exact paint that would be used and other aspects of the job. I am so happy we went with Marvel. I reached out to 10 different companies, 5 of which responded, and only 4 came to give us estimates. Vlad was the most prepared and professional, bringing swatches and having Tanya provide an itemized estimate via email. I loved how organized they seemed right off the bat, and was even more impressed that their prices were hundreds of dollars lower than the competition. Tanya was so prompt with her responses to my questions, of which there were many. She was very kind and patient with me. She edited my contract for me and set the appointment for our color consultation, and official project date. They estimated 3-5 days, but finished in only 2, which was AMAZING! Okay, I guess I have to add to the original review after reading your comments. There was no issue with my check. I wrote the check Aug. 1 and the funds left my account August 2. The problem is with your bank. Then, you called me a second time about it saying you needed money to pay your employees and asking me to write another check or pay cash and you would write me a check while waiting for the check to clear. This made me highly suspicious of you and at that point, I didn't want to have anything more to do with your company. This is when I decided to write a review to warn other people. I never said "everything looks fabulous" because it doesn't. The job was marginal even by Southern California standards. There is stucco patch with no paint on it, patch on the deck railing with no paint, drips and runs etc. I would not have bothered posting a review about the quality of the work itself, but the thing about the check pushed me to the limit. I find it strange that you have a "marketing director" but don't have the cash flow to pay your people. I can see why you have all five star reviews because you apparently harass people who post anything negative. And yes you were responsive to my pointing out poor work, but I shouldn't have to do that and frankly, it was exhausting. read more

I selected Marvel Painters based upon their review comments and I was definitely pleased with the results. I liked that it was a family run business. Vlad and crew did a very thorough job painting the entire exterior of our two story house, metal fence, retaining wall, bar-b-que/fireplace and wood trellis. First, we had some horribly pealing paint on the fascia and eaves, and they came out, did great prep work, and got the house looking beautiful in just a few days. I have 5 reasons why I am giving them a 5 star rating! 1. I had a small paint job (6 interior doors and casings) and I was having trouble getting someone to be interested in the job. Marvel said there was no job too small and they meant it. 2. They really did respond to my inquiry immediately and they really did show up as agreed to give the bid. So many contractors are incredibly flaky... we are surprised they stay in business. This company is 100% professional. They booked the bid... confirmed the bid the day before and showed up exactly on time. 3. They bid the job fairly. There are all kinds of reasons why providers can charge too much. Marvel was totally fair. I paid exactly what I expected and was completely satisfied with what I paid. 4. They are excellent painters!!! I scrutinize the taping... scrutinize the brush marks... scrutinize the quality of the paint and scrutinize the coverage. They are really really good painters. We painted black doors in a white house so we needed it to be perfect. it was. Super good work. 5. Lastly - they are clean and efficient. They worked all day. They worked hard. After reviewing proposals from three different companies and reading a variety of reviews from different sources we chose Marvel to repaint our home. The home is fairly old (built in the 1960s) and is near the beach which takes its toll, so the prep work was more demanding that perhaps for a newer home elsewhere. They were meticulous. They also made a conscientious effort to respect the lanscaping around the house. Only problem worth mentioning was that they assigned two painters without supervision for two days. After viewing their work, they terminated one and assigned the other to not work alone in the near future. All the myriad of issues that come up in a 10-day project were handled professionally. In addition, they actually went beyond what they bid to do and repainted one changed deck color without complaint. They were completely responsive to all my concerns. They're also nice people!
