I had a small job - painting some exterior doors that were badly damaged because of the sun exposure. I contacted this company and I'm pleased that they responded very quickly and were able to give me an accurate estimate based upon photographs. When they came out to do the work, they recheck the scope and said the price would be the same. Tan was very professional - he made sure to protect all existing floor services and work areas around the doors. Edit 2: Yelp agreed with me that Tam lied and didn't do a professional job, and are reimbursing me. Tam, stop lying. Edit: This guy is a liar. Any respect I had for him is now gone. Tam is now claiming in his reply that there were spots on the ceiling that weren't covered in his quote. Yeah, that's a lie. Our contract clearly states all spots in the kitchen and great room were to be retextured. He also clearly stated where no work would be done, and those spots weren't mentioned (I've attached the contract so anyone can see he's a liar). Now he's claiming that "he tried doing them for free but it didn't work out". Even if that was true, why didn't you do the work correctly? You made it worse, Tam. Just admit you didn't do a good job and couldn't afford to give a refund. Turns out Tam is a liar too. Avoid. Original review: I am shocked this business has 4.7 stars; I was given embarrassingly bad results and no refund was issued. For a business called "All Pro" I was expecting professional results. In the end I had a ceiling that was literally worse than before Tam and his team started. He had to come back a second time to try to do the job right and made things even worse again. I asked for half the price back as a refund because the ceiling was worse than before and I now had even less time to find a new contractor to fix the problem he created. Then he has the boldness to offer me a 6% refund (which he never issued back to me). I find this hilarious because his justification was, quote: "We did a bunch of drywall patches for you. Painted your ceilings. All you have left is to fix the texture for a couple spots." Tam, if all I have to do is fix a 5 more spots and it's so easy, why couldn't you do it the first or second time? If a 6% refund would cover the unfinished work, you charged me about 3x more than you should have for the rest of the house. Are you incompetent, dishonest, or both? Avoid these guys. read more

We got a new pup and he started playing peek-a-boo with the next-door-neighbor dog, Gucci. Although Gucci has the sweetest face, we decided it was time to replace our fence. The Construction Guyz did an amazing job (see my review) but now we needed it painted. Enter All Pro Finishes! Tam was super responsive and had great, not to mention super friendly communication. His crew arrive right on time. We all know that that is a good sign! They took their time prepping...covering all the surrounding areas with paper and plastic. The crew finished two fences and the front gate in a day's work! Before they left they gathered all the equipment and debris and took it with them. Bravo! I'm telling you....if I ever need to paint anything again, I would not hesitate to call All Pro Finishes right away. My experience was mixed. I'm not saying the job was bad overall but it wasn't great either. Tam didn't do the work , he had another person come in to do the job itself. I think I was expecting "pro quality" work. I found issues with some areas where it appeared they missed the double coat and patches (fillings for nail holes ) didn't blend in. I thought it was going to be " pro level" work. I reached out to Tam and he flipped a switch and just became argumentative and aggressive in tone. This rubbed me the wrong way. Instead of paying him more to address the issues, ( he said he doesn't do work for free) it's by the hour. I didn't want to have further interactions with him so I went ahead and hired someone else to address those issues. Also he wasn't cheap , his quote was on the higher end compared to others, but I was willing to pay for it for "pro" quality work. But it wasn't for me , maybe it is for others . I could not highly recommend this company enough. Tam is very respectful, friendly, punctual, and true to his word. He worked very closely with me on varnishing the wood sidings of our house near the beach where the sun and elements had severely weathered our wood sidings. He varnished them in the right colors and made it all even, even though the sun had managed to make it very uneven through the years as it hit certain spots, but not others. Now they all look pretty much brand new with its natural wood look coming through. He kept the appropriate weathered look which I wanted for some of our older existing beach furniture, which he also varnished and protected with a clear coat. We hired Tam to repaint our entire downstairs after lots of repair work was completed. He and his workers did a great job. There were some smaller touch ups needed and Tam came back the following day to complete them himself. He was always pleasant and gracious, asking what else we needed him to do. I had a family member who is a contractor review the problem areas (primarily the master bath). The surface was not prepared at all prior to painting, so all of the paint that All Pro Finishes used has to be scraped off, the wall underneath has to be sanded and everything has to be repainted. I hired All Pro Finishes after reading the positive reviews on Yelp. Sadly I'm now not one of them. I obtained 6 quotes for my stucco to be painted, a small area of fascia board replaced/painted due to a roof leak and the installation of 5 new exterior lights. Tam's quote was in the middle. I liked Tam and what he promised to deliver, said the job should take 2 to 3 days, working 8 - 5. Start Day 1 (Tuesday) Tam pushed a day. Day 2 Tam showed up, then left for several hours, came back and power washed. Next day 2 guys showed up around 8am, left @ 12:30. Tam notified me at 3pm they would not be back. I asked Tam if he still thought they would finish on Day 4, he said the whole team would be at my home the next day. I'm a school crossing guard for the Irvine Police department and when I came home from my morning shift, there was only 1 guy here. Around 11:30 I reached out to Tam asking if the "team" was still coming, he replied yes after lunch. Around 2pm one additional guy showed up.  Tam informed me at the end of Day 4 they had a half days work left. On Day 5, Tam sent a text regarding the damaged fascia board and said he would Bondo and paint it for no charge. I reminded him, "replacement" and painting was included in his quote along with all of the other quotes I received. Tam took photos prior to providing me an estimate of what needed to be done to repair the area which he included in his text. On Day 8 (Wednesday of the following week), the job was still not complete and advised Tam I was done. Several areas still needed paint, completion of the repair/paint of the fascia board and only 2 of the exterior lights were correctly installed. One light they damaged and can no longer be used. I did not feel that my project was given any form of priority to meet the completion as promised. From the start, there was a lack of direction and communication with his team and Tam was not present to oversee. The 2 - 3 day project was now @ 8 days and they needed to be gone by end of day. At the end of Day 8 several areas remained needing paint and 3 lights still needed to be correctly installed. One of the lights not working was to automatically come on at dusk as it had. As they were leaving my home, they broke one of the top pickets on my picket gate. Tam's response, the gate was weak. The fence/gate has served me well for several years and was not previously cracked or weak. I hired another contractor to finish the project, all lights were correctly installed and the gate repaired. I would not recommend All Pro Finishes. read more

Had a house that needed the interior painted with a 20 foot high ceiling, kitchen, bathroom cabinets, and wood banister that needed to be re-stained and I was not going to be able to do the job myself so I called Tam and made an appointment. Tam came on-time and was very friendly. He gave me a quote that was very competitive for that job that needed to be done. On the day of starting the painting job he directed his team on what needed to be done and how to do it. His team was very friendly and whenever I pointed out some small details that needed attention they acknowledged it and made sure to address the issues. At the end of the work day the team would give me an update on what still needed to be done and what they think would be best. Tam would come each day to touch base with his team and they would be communicate on what need to be done, the plan of action, acknowledge and executed the plan. Everyone was very detailed and wanted the job done perfectly. The job was scheduled to be completed within 7 day but it went over by a few days because Tam and his team wanted to job to perfect which I greatly appreciated. After the main painting project was completed and all cabinets and banister was re-stained Tam would came and did a walkthrough with me to see if there were any other spots that needed to be finished/touched up. Tam personally came a few extra days to finish any touchups and issues that were unnoticed before by the team which was really amazing. All-in-all the project is done, the house looks amazing with a bright fresh coat of paint, and the cabinets/banister look like new. We had just had new floors installed and so had a lot of floor protection requirements that we conveyed to the 5 painting contractors that we asked to bid on the job. Immediately after talking to Tam, we knew this was the company we were going with. He seriously listened to our concerns and requests, and made adjustments and accommodations accordingly. Tam conveyed our requirements and his instructions clearly to his crew. And these guys were super meticulous in their prep! They covered ALL surfaces, sanded, caulked, primed and painted with a critical eye. At several stages Tam did a walk through and with his experienced eye, pointed out areas he wanted the crew to touch up or apply a third coating on. I'm sad to say I'm not one of the happy 5 star customers. We met with Tam and we really liked his professionalism and he just seemed to be really on it. He gave us an estimate that was a bit on the high side but I wanted great work and he seemed competent and like it was all going to go smoothly. That's where anything good ends. His guys were super nice but lacked direction. I never actually ever saw Tam on the job and his guys had literally no clear direction anytime I checked in with them which was every day. Pretty much everything they did is not super or professional. I have surfaces that are smooth and surfaces that are rough. I cannot tell you why. I was told by the GC that this never happens with Tam and that Tam said to him "once in a while a job just goes wrong from the start and this is just one of those jobs". The guys painted my hall cabinets the wrong color after I told them they were supposed to be white multiple times. Tam was willing to have the guys repaint but I just thought the blue looked nice so I kept them blue (and also really wanted to show I was willing to be accommodating) I told the guys DO NOT put the old hardware on. What did they do? They put all the old hardware on and it left marks. They left a dirty site repeatedly including food/pizza boxes with food in it that I had to clean up. They threw away tiles on my mantel that the contractors guys broke off and left there to be repaired. I paid them for the full first half of work when I was not even satisfied. They said they would come and finish the things I needed/wanted when they came for the second time. The things they tried to touch up was unsatisfactory for me and I couldn't take it anymore. Tam sent his brother and he was sweet but never rectified the things I needed done. It was a huge expense and loss for me. I never brought them back for the second part which means I paid for unsatisfactory work. I had to hire someone else to come and finish but it didn't ever come out right and I paid another small fortune. It's really sad because I really thought that Tam and his team would do a great job.
