Donnie is a scam artist if I was moving he would literally be the last person I would trust moving my stuff. We did some work for him and he screwed us out of money. Strung me along for over a month then blocked my number. If you are thinking about using his services I would really consider other options. He is just a bad small business owner. I never go out of my way to review a company, but I'll make an exception in this case. They significantly damaged my tv stand, drafting desk, and sectional. The owner blocked my number the day I reported it, and when he unblocked it refused to answer my calls and barely communicated via text. I would have to send around 3 messages to get a reply. As I write this, the owner has blocked my number and has not returned any of my texts. He called my stuff junk, originally just offered 40 bucks for retrobution, and when confronted about when to pay me told me the company didn't currently have the money for it. His crew literally threw my stuff down stairs, did not wrap it, and generally just treated it like garbage. They then lied and said they cleaned up afterwards and said I told them I would fix certain damage when I did not. They also left a recliner, weight bench, and weights they said they would go back for. The owner lied to the BBB about my stuff already bring broken. I have texts with him agreeing with me that his crew damaged my things and the damage us clearly moving damage. No business has been even close to treating me this poorly. Our experience with Marvelous Moving could have been better. The movers themselves were GREAT. However, administration and communication throughout the process was lacking. I thought I had confirmed with the owner that the movers would show up at 8:00am, but I found out the day of the move that the company doesn't guarantee a time and that the movers were given a window of 8:00am - 10:00am to start the move. The owner should have been clear about this earlier on so we could have planned accordingly. Immediately after the move, we were expected to pay in cash or check, which we were also unprepared for. Before the move, I had asked twice via email how to go about payment and was never answered. Overall, we are happy with the movers and they got the job done, but we definitely had a few frustrating, last minute surprises with scheduling and payment. read more

Okay i hate to do this but i got to first off they were late for a move one hour, second they damage my head board to my bed, third i requested b4 the move and was quoted a price for some furniture assembly than they had the nerve to tell me he had another appointment to be at DAMN YOU WERE LATE FOR THIS ONE!! And charge me for the whole 3 hours mind you it took only one hour for the move. They complain and made it sound like it too hard but that is why you are a moving service. The owner or manager came out and said he would call me later 4 the furniture assembly. Well Sunday he called and said he would show up no him finally that next week he called and said he can"t assemble my furniture go figure. Oh i can"t forget the tire marks in the grass of my apartment complex great of course i got blame for it cause i hire these ppl. People don"t use this moving service whatever you do your better off getting a UHaul and doing it yourself. read more

Marvelous Movers NOT. Donnie said they could move my almost new refrigerator out no problem, and then put doors back on it. They would bring the tools. Not only did they not bring tools they had no clue on how to do it. I had the book even but they wouldn't even look at it. They broke my screen door taking it out as they only got one door off. Then they laid it on top of my dryer. That has dents in it now. They left pieces of refrigerator at old place so I had to go get them. Scratched my hardwood floor getting it in. They couldn't get doors back on right. I had to repair place to get to work. I have a huge dent on front of refrigerator and several little dents. Donny would not call me back to get this taken care of. He refused to give me his insurance information. Terrible service and very very dishonest. Does not stand behind his word. The manager responded super quickly to my request for estimate, and the rate was super reasonable considering they were moving items 2.5 hours including a heavy piano. They did a great job, and were cheerful and patient. Felt it was a great value. The only thing that kept me from giving them a 5 was that the manager/dispatcher seemed a bit disorganized - had not informed the movers about what they would be moving or where to. Donny, the owner, is earnest, honest and timely. From the first conversation, I received prompt feedback and follow up along with an estimate that beat all other job quotes. On moving day, Marvelous showed up on time and exceeded my expectations for the time to load all of my property. The Marvelous team was all business, respectful of my property and very swift. It was a real struggle to get it to our second floor as I failed to take proper measurements, they however did a fantastic job at not losing their patience and getting it into the apartment. We hired Marvelous Movers to move our mother's belongings from her apartment to a nursing home. When we hired them the time and date was set up. Since several of us live out of town, we all had made arrangements to be there at the time agreed on. The movers let us know that they were running late and it would be about an hour to an hour and a half later than they were to be there. We waited 2 hours and tried to contact them to see how soon they were going to be. Was texted back and they said soon. Over the next 6 hours, numerous phone calls not answered and texts -some with more delays, at about 8 that night was texted and asked if they could do it the next day at 8 that morning. We felt that their actions were very unprofessional and felt that we should have been notified way earlier that they were not going to be able to do the job. . "Approximately 3 weeks prior to my anticipated move, I contacted Marvelous Movers of Dubuque, and spoke at length with Donny. He asked questions about my home and items to be moved, I explained I have an "over furnished" 3 bedroom, living room, dining room, finished/furnished basement,....and a baby grand (digital, not nearly the weight) piano. Donny calculated my needs would require TWO trucks, one 26ft and one 16ft... and SIX men. The cost quoted was $1200.00. I questioned the amount as I have some experience moving...local and cross country. The amount seemed inadequate...especially for 2 trucks and 6 men. The distance of the move was approximately 15 miles. Donny and I agreed about 5 days in advance on the date and time the movers would arrive at my home. While the time was not a important to me...the equipment/men were. What appeared in front of my house was ONE TRUCK and THREE MEN. The supervisor was concerned about the amount of items to be moved ...in one day with one truck and contacted Donny, and was requested to video the house. Donny asked to speak to me...and told me the move could not be completed for less than $3000.00, a significant increase over the $1200.00 originally quoted. While I was required to move that day under the terms of my sales contract, I had no other choice but to "agree" to a fee of $2800.00. The movers arrived at approximately 9 am, made TWO trips and finished the move at approximately 12:30 am. (I should add that we used my pickup truck for 2 additional loads.)
