I've been a patient of Dr. Mary Beth Harr for many many years. She is absolutely the kindest, most concerned doctor that I have ever had. She really listens to your questions and concerns and will always come up with a solution for your medical issues; whether she can help you herself; and if not, she will refer you to someone who can. I've never had a doctor that had so much patience and never rushes you out of her office. She takes the time to give you an explanation that you can understand. She is such a friendly, kind-hearted doctor. These days, it's very rare that you find a doctor like Dr. Harr. Her entire Staff is wonderful, from the Receptionist and Office Staff to the Nurses and the PA's. Everyone is so sweet and friendly. It's a very calm office atmosphere. I never feel stressed when I go to an appointment here, like I do at other doctor's offices'. I highly recommend Dr. Harr and her Staff. You get the best of the best care! read more

I was highly recommended by my co-worker. We work a building away. Our new insurance was to be active on 10/01/2024 but is not and our agent is working on fixing the issue. I called the same morning and left a message with the answering service to cancel. We were told the issue would be resolved before my appointment, but it wasn't. So, I called to rescheduled and explained my situation. I was told by the gentleman that answered the phone that they do not reschedule anyone who cancels the same day because I was a new patient. I waited 4 months to be seen and was shocked at the response. I was told that he would have to have the office manager call me to see if I could be rescheduled. I told him "No thank you, I don't want to be seen if this is how you treat patients regardless of their situation. I have been in the medical field over 40 years and am still shaking my head. I have been coming here for 2 1/2 years, mainly for physicals and to check my labs. I see Devon the PA and I absolutely adore her. Whenever I come in I feel so comfortable, I feel valued, they never rush you (and somehow they stay on time!) and they always seem to remember you no matter how long it has been. I love the Mary Beth Harr MD PA Physicians Office! The funny thing is that I have never seen Dr. Harr! When I moved to the San Antonio Metro Area, I was so scared to look for a new PCP. If you're reading this, then you know EXACTLY how I feel. It is so hard to find a Dr. that I feel I can relate to, a Dr. that listens, understands, asks probing questions & actually reads my chart before coming into the examining room (Don't you hate it when a Dr. walks in & says "So why are you here today?" uh duh! Can you read your nurses handwriting? I just answered a hundred questions & you're gonna ask the same one's? ugh)) Most Dr.'s I have seen are in & out in less than 15 minutes on the initial appointment, let alone on regular wellness or illness checks! Not in this office! To find a Dr. I went online to the Converse and The Surrounding Community Facebook page & asked for recommendations. The response that stood out was about Dr. Harr's Office. After that response post, I received several more reiterating how good her practice is, & since no other Dr. had more than 3 responses on my post, I decided to call for an appointment, I have not been disappointed! Unfortunately, I have never seen Dr. Harr. Instead, I have seen Devon Durrand, PA from the very first appointment. She is humble, sensitive, caring, interested and genuine! Who can beat that combination? I have also seen Jennifer Zavala, PA on occasion when Devon is booked. Jennifer is humble, genuine and equally as open as Devon. How Dr. Harr found these wonderful Physician's Assistants I will never know! BUT, I know this, if these PA's work with Dr. Harr, then she must be as equally wonderful as her staff. The office staff is great. They are as accommodating as they can be when it comes to scheduling and seeing who I want to see. They have helped me when I had insurance changes, work forms completed and just to give a friendly hand & smile when I feel like crap. "Doc-in-the-box" feel is definitely not an accurate description of the office I went to. Ok, so the waiting area is dated, the business workstation is right outside the exam rooms & sometimes there's a wait or maybe horror upon horror, they missed seeing you (I tell you I would NOT have waited that long & I would have been more proactive if I were sitting in the exam room & I GUARANTEE I would have been seen! LOL). I'm sorry that some people had poor experiences. All I know is I am grateful to have found this practice, these Doctor's and the EXCEPTIONAL service I receive! read more

I have been going to this office for about two years. I have never been seen by Dr Harr. That hasn't been a problem because the PA's I have seen have been great. However I recently had a nightmare experience there. I had an appointment for 10:30 am on a day they were closing at noon. I arrived on time and was put in an exam room by 10:45. I was waiting patiently until 11:45 when it got very quiet outside. I left the room and found a nurse and asked if they knew I was there. They said yes and just to wait. I returned to the exam room and waited again until 12:30. Knowing they closed st noon, I left to find they were locking up the office! I said "hey, did you guys forget about me?" They said "oh we're sorry yes, would you like to reschedule?" WTF??? Reschedule? read more

Dr. Harr has been my primary doctor for several years and I have always very pleased with the treatment I have received there. Even though I don't see her very often due to good health she always remembers me and we always seem to pick up right where we left off on my last visit. She has helped me set and obtain specific goals concerning my health and well being. read more

I have been seeing Dr Harr for at least 22--24 years. I met her at a clinic while doing internship/residency and have followed her since. Very compassionate! I always make my appointments in advance. She is in very high demand and there is a reason for it, I promise! She always takes her time and never makes me feel rushed. As soon as my children were old enough to be her patients (leaving the pediatrician at 6yrs old) I moved them over and have been with her since. I have been going to Dr. Harr for over 7 years and in that time I have found the office staff, the PA's and Dr. Harr to be very professional. I have had great experiences and I will continue to go to her whenever I feel that the need to. I have my yearly checkups and 6 month bloodwork regularly. I receive results quickly. I have been going to Dr. Harr for at least 10 years now. I absolutely adore her. So many of my friends and their friends go to her. I can think of at least 7 people I have recommended her to and they just love her as well. If it takes a little time to get into the office to see her, it's because she actually spends time with her patients. She listens to you and considers everything you have to say. She is never condescending or patronizing. She is so kind and easy to talk to. I love her so much! I would never go to another general doctor. read more

The office has a doc-in-the-box feel. The door to the exam rooms opens to the main office area, so while you are sitting on the exam table and the doc opens the door to come in, everyone can see you're undressed, ready for examination. :P The nurse made jokes about my weight when I was on the scale. The nurse was unprofessional and goofing off. She was also embarrassed to say the word, "vagina." The physicians assistant, Callie Bowman, did not ask me many questions about my health background even though I was a new patient. She just said, "is there anything in your health history I should know about?" From what I understand docs are given a standard checklist... why can't she take the time to go through it? The nurse saw I had blood drawn recently by another doc , the small mark on my arm's vein, and told the PA, Callie, about the mark. The PA asked me about it. I felt like she was accusing me of shooting drugs the way she approached it. Also, the office sends out labs, so results take up to 5 business days. That's odd to me, they are in a giant medical center, why are they not hooked up with the hospital labs there? I will NEVER go back to this office. Overall the front desk was friendly, that's all the office had going for it. I never saw Mary Beth Harr, but I feel like who she hired as her staff is tell-tale about the sort of standards she has for her practice. read more

This is hard, I love Dr. Harr, she has been wonderful to me over the years. I have sent many patients to her and they too have been pleased. however, her office staff makes life miserable. I tried to be seen earlier in the week and couldn't be because it was on short notice. I understand, went to the ER and was told my white blood cell count is low and that I have a kidney infection. I should follow up with my primary care doctor in 3 weeks for labs. I call the doctor's office and was told she doesn't have appointments available. I said ok, can she at least order my labs. I was told no, she won't do that because I haven't been seen in 2 years. Additionally, because I've cancelled appointments in the last 2 years, she won't do that. I was dumbfounded. What, am I supposed to "no-show"? Now, I can't get my labs done w/ out an order, I can't find a new doctor to take me on in the next 3 weeks, and I will have to incur an additional charge as if I want to do this, I will need to go to a urgent care facility or back to the ER, For as wonderful as Dr. Harr is, her staff continually demeans me and makes it difficult to be seen. read more
